Gaurdian Creation - Why they are here? What is their purpose?
Gaurdians were created by the love of a Master Toymaker and the imagination of his grand-daughter. Their all time purpose is to be a friend to children and protect them from all harm. Imaginary or not.
Adults cannot see a gaurdians true form. They will only see the stuffed animal that they have given their child, nothing more. A child though has boundless imagination and is able to shape life and give it to their toys. Only toys made by the decendants of the Master Toymaker have the ability to become gaurdians and even then it is only limited to stuffed animals.
Dolls on the otehr hand cannot become gaurdians yet. For some reason things that resemble humans are unable to gain a life of their own, perhaps it is because they are too closely kindred to humans for the magic to work properly.
A Gaurdian will protect the child he had been given to, and even give its life if the need arose. Extremly loyal, though each one has a distinct personality, it is unheard of for a Gaurdian to abandon their child.
On a rare occasion it has happened though it was due to neglect from the child rather than anything else. A child that will harm its own gaurdian, abuse, or refuse to belive in them probably doesn't deserve to have one anyway.
The Beasties - Where did they come from? What is their purpose?
No-one is positive where Beasties come from, some have speculated that they are born from the fear that children produce at night. The bump under the bed, the scrap of the branch against the window all these elements are the perfect breeding ground for Beasties. The more fearful the child the more the beasties are drawn to them.
Beasties...are very similar to Gaurdians, they cannot exist if it weren't for the child. But each Beastie is different, shaped into reality by the fear the child produced. Most resemble primates, though there are some that resemble grotesque goblinoid creatures and even rats. They are all usually large, with clawed hands and feet and very sharp teeth. You can normally spot a Beastie in the dark by the yellow glow of their eyes.
The Beasties have their own overlord though his name has yet to been found out. Their current goal is kidnapping children and attempting to find a decsendant of the master toymaker and put an end to all Gaurdians forever.
