~I bet you will just be strolling along Gaia until you found a little face by your avatar. I bet you will say "Is this some kinda joke?" Well, it isn't. Actually it's a rare event. It's pretty cool, when you get the eek face by your avatar it means you've gotten one. If you scroll your mouse over the face, it'll say for you to "Look Around".

DO WHAT IT SAYS AND LOOK AROUND!
DO NOT DO ANYTHING TO YOU HAVE FOUND THAT RARE EVENT!

There are three types of rare events:

-Pinklink

The most common of the rare events.

A Pinklink is where a clickable link is embroidered in pink. Clicking on the link will give you 1000 Gold, but be careful. The link might direct you to another site or another part of Gaia, but still, when you click it, you get an easy 1,000g, which is pretty cool.


-Enchanted Trunk

The third most rare event.

An Enchanted Trunk is the third rare event. It usually bounces around the screen. When you click it, you'll be directed to the home page and another browser will pop up, indicating that you have gotten a rare event.
If you want to see your Enchanted Trunk, go to your profile and there it will be. But BEWARE, sometimes the Enchanted Trunk will carry an item that is of low value, like a Hockey mask, or, it will carry a highly uncommon item, like a Nightmare Collar.

But, if you don't want to risk getting a sucky item, you can sell it by going to the Gaia Exchange, and make a thread there advertising that you're selling an Enchanted Trunk. (requires a trading pass) You can also go to the Marketplace and sell it there in your shop. (requires both a trading pass and vending pass)

The second most rare event.

Similar to the Encahnted Trunk, it will float around the screen and stop until you click it. It will also direct you to the Gaia Homepage and a browser will pop up telling you that you have sucessfully received the Rare Event. Go into your profile and you'll find your Gift Box.

Unlike the Enchanted Trunk, the Giftbox holds some pretty rare items. Very few items from the Giftbox are unwanted. You could either get a unwanted Ears of Enlightenment, or, get the highly wanted,super rare Nightmare Headband.

NOTICE: eek It's very uncommon that you find a Pink Box, they are HIGHLY RARE. So, when you get a Rare Event, don't expect to get a Gift Box everytime.

If you don't want to be hassled getting an item you want, you can just sell you Giftbox like you can do with the Enchanted Trunk.

The rarest of all Rare Events.

It resembles the Blue Box that was used as a joke for April Fools. Well, it isn't a joke anymore. Now it's the most RAREST event. It contains either rare event items (Check the G.E.N for a list of all Rare Events, Rare Event Items, Donation Items, Donation Letters, Event Items) or it could contain uncommons, or possibly even 1,000 gold.

If you don't want your Blue Box, you can sell it at the Gaia Exchange (Check G.E.N, E.V.I.L, or S.I.N for prices), or, sell it at the Gaia Marketplace. (Also see G.E.N, E.V.I.L, S.I.N for prices)


Can't see your rare event?

Scroll down to the bottom of the page. There will be a link there titled:

"If you can't see your rare event, click here"

If you don't see your rare event, click the link and it will lead you to the GAIA Homepage.

Administrator: The top bananas on Gaia. Lanzer, L0cke, Ling, CP, V0, and drknrgy are the admins.

Avatar: Your character in Gaia.

Ban: A permanent or temporary exilation from Gaia. Only mods/admins can ban members. You NEVER want to get banned. If you get/got banned it is because you violated the Terms of Service.

Bump: Bring Up My Post. Bumps float the thread to the top of the forum. When using a bump in Welcome to Gaia, only use it when the thread has some importance (ie: Newbie Help Guides).

Dedicated Moderator: These mods have power in the forum they are designated to.

Donation Letter: A letter recieved from Gaia that contains an Event item. You recieve one by donating REAL money to Gaia. The letter is always sealed until somewhere around the end of the month.

Enchanted Trunk: A random event that can appear ANYWHERE on Gaia. Trunks contain Uncommon items.

Flame: An attack on another user. STRICTLY PROHIBITED

Gaia Marketplace: An area where you can sell and purchase items,It is faster then using the GAIA Exchange and much easier

Gaia Exchange: A Forum used to Sell/Purchase Items,Threads are listed here,Avertising the items up for sale,there are chances of being Scammed/Hacked though

General Moderator: These mods have power in every forum.

Gift Box: A random event found anywhere on Gaia. These contain rare items.

Gold: The currancy used on Gaia. Use gold to purchase clothing at Barton or Gambino.

Glomp: A gaian hug.

Guild: A group of people that have the same interest. A Guild can be about anything.

Leet: \/\/l-l3l\l 'l0l_l 7/-\l_l< l_1l<3 7l-l15. Avoid talking like this unless you want a good smack in the face.

Net Speak: Dis is teh netspeak. lolomgwtfbbqroflmfao. Try to avoid using it.

Pink Link: Another random event that can appear anywhere in Gaia. When clicked, Pink Links give you 1000G.

Spam: A post/thread that does NOT pertain to the topic at hand in the forum in which it was posted in. NEVER spam outside the Chatterbox. If you are reported to a mod for spamming, you will most likely recieve a 100 Gold fine.

Sticky: A thread that has been chosen to always be at the top of the forum. They are helpful and should always be read. They contain information/rules you need to know about that forum.

Trading Pass: Purchase on of these at the Bank in Gambino for 500G. With a Trading Pass, you can SEND trades to other Gaians. You do NOT need one to recieve a trade.

Vending Pass: Another pass bought at the Bank for 1000 Gold. You use this to sell items in the Gaia Marketplace,You DO NOT need one to buy items from the Gaia Marketplace.

So I decided to give a list of the many Forums of Gaia and small descriptions of them smile

First there's the Announcements

The Announcements Fourm was created to give you the latest and most important updates of what's happening to Gaia, including new store items, new stores, new features, Server outings, Server repairs, and the newest Donation Letter items.

Next,there's Welcome to Gaia

This is a helpful forum, made for newbies so that they can understand what there is to do in Gaia, What NOT to do in Gaia, how to be a friendly user, and much more interesting and helpful facts. It also includes and Introduce Yourself Thread where you can introduce yourself to other new Gaia Users
The stickies are most helpful and there are other Guides, FAQs,and Walkthroughs written by concerning "Oldbies" (Older Users) who wish to help Gaia's littlest ones.

NOTICE: eek Sometimes bumping a thread is allowed when it contains useful information to GAIA's newest users, threads that contain Guides/FAQs/Walkthroughs such as this one.

Afterwards, there's the General Discussion

This thread is to talk about the simple things, such as is Coke or Pepsi better, are Girls better than Boys, Are you Left handed or Right Handed and other things such as that, if you enjoy small talk, this is the forum for you!

It has two subforums,Word Games and others Forum, where if you like to play with words such as mixing up one word to make up another, or other things, then you might enjoy this forum, secondly there's
Avatar Talk ,Where you can fashion shows, get your avatar rated, or just talk about what looks good with this and that.

The Second of the "Discussions" is the Extended Discussion

This is for Gaia's serious users, it discusses issues such as Political, Phycolgical, Religion, and matters of Life and Death, only come here if you are prepared to Debate strongly.

It has four Subforums, Politics , Science and Technology ,Morality and Religion , and Sociology and Psychology.

WARNING: eek Some of the threads in the Extended Discussion forum contain sexual topics such as Pregnancies, Abortion, and Child birth, be careful when you enter this forum.

For all of you who love to ask Questions, there's the Questions & Feedback Forum.

If you don't know where things are like, where is the Bank, how do I get clothes, and where do I change my password. Then you can ask your questions here.
Also it has two Subforums, Bug Reports & Technical Support .If you have problems changing your clothes or if you can't delete your avatar

Also there's the Extended Feedback Forum where you can suggest new items, rare events, and discuss ideas about new things on Gaia.

Avatar System 2.0 Q&F is a subforum for reporting bugs because of the new Avatar System. Be sure to report all problems with your avatar here. 3nodding


For all of you who tend to spam, this forum is for you, The Chatterbox will contend with your Spamming needs.

The chatterbox was made for everyone who had the urge to spam could post all sorts of nonsense and weirdness, it is also used as a Dating Search Engine when the Personals are down.

It has a Subforum, Recycle Bin is it's name. Weird huh? This is where ALL the Repeated and Duplicated threads go. Instead of deleting them, they go in here. And you can still talk about that certain Topic but you can't make NEW threads in this forum.

WARNING: eek The Chatterbox may contain some threads which has Mild Sexual Themes which you may NOT want to see, if you don't want to get caught up in the stuff, I advise that you stay away from those threads.

University/School RolePlay .Ever wonder about the hardships of school? Do you want to feel the anxiety of meeting your first high school sweetheart without actually having one? Well this is for you, where you can Roleplay the hardships and romance of School!
The Gaian Neighborhood is for those interested in Family/Friends Roleplaying. Here you can get adopted and roleplay the lifestyle of a suburban family.

Got an item you don't like, but can't sell at the stores? The GAIA Exchange will buy it! Come here and sell your Uncommons and Rares or buy Uncommons and Rares. There are also Three Sub forums to the GAIA Exchange.


First there's the Lotto/Money Games, for those of you who enjoy gambling, or want to enter an Avatar Contest.

Secondly there's the Charity/Quest Forum. If you're poor and don't have enough money for something you want, come here and kindly ask here for Gold or Items. Or if you're looking for that specific item and need some help, you can come here and receive the help you need!


Third, there's the Wanted Forum. Here, if you have enough Gold, you can purchase that item you've been saving up for. Don't wanna go to the salesmen but have them come t you instead? Then make a thread here and watch the desperate sellers come in!

~How to successfully make Friends and use the Forums correctly~

After looking around Welcome to Gaia, I found several "Friends Wanted/Needed" Threads.

I know that users with under 100 posts or have been here for less than a month can post these types of threads, but they're so irritating.

The basic operation of these threads is someone posts a short sentence like

"I need friends! crying " or: I HAFF NO FRIENDS! Will you be mine? smile "

And n00bs SWARM to the thread saying that they'll be the creator's friend.

But what exactly does "Friend" mean.

It means a familiar person who has the common interests as the other person in which they constantly spend time with each other.

And people call people they have just met, a friend.

This is not, what I call making a friend. So I’ve decided to write this for those who are tired of the "Friends Wanted" threads and want to make REAL friends.

First of all, if you have an interest, for example, you like Jimmy Eat World. You can go to the Music Forum, create a Topic about Jimmy Eat World, then if people enter your thread and talk about Jimmy Eat World, you have just started a Conversation, which could eventually lead to the person PMing you another day to continue to talk about Jimmy Eat World or share interests.

This is how you make a friend, it's just in real life. You don't go out into a public street and scream "I NEED FRIENDS!". It doesn't work in the real world, it won't work here.

Now, onto the Forums. I bet you've read my Forum Index Guide (If you haven't read it now) And you MAY be confused about what the Forums are about.

In this first edition, I will talk about the most popular Forums. Welcome to Gaia, General Discussion, Extended Discussion, Chatterbox, GAIA Exchange, Barton Town, GAIA Commerce, Guilds, Anime/Manga/Comics, Video Games Discussion, Music Forum, Sports Forum, and the Writer's Forum. Later, I will discuss on how to make friends in the other Forums not listed here.

First, let's start out with Welcome to Gaia. This place isn't exactly a Forum running rampant with spamming n00bs and "I NEED A BF" threads. There are several concerned users who have been on Gaia for a very long time whom reside here. If you like to help new users with their problems and questions, you could make some friends here.

Next, is General Discussion, I will also include Avatar Talk here.

Here, you can talk about mostly ANYTHING, but please try not to Spam.

You can talk about general topics, such as Sports, Music, Fashion, and etc. But this Forum has several Trolls/Flamers, so be sure you know about what you are talking about before you post, here you can make several friends with different tastes.

In Avatar Talk, here you talk about your Avatar's Appearance, hold Avatar Contests, and have your Avatar rated or rate others.

If you like to dress up Avatars, or talk about what would look good with this or that, you're bound to make several threads here.

In Extended Discussion, things can get slightly heated.

The threads here are VERY serious, but you can make friends here otherwise.

In Extended Discussion, you can talk about Social Matters, Sex, Religious discussion, Politics, about the Economy, and other subjects that are too extreme for General Discussion.

In the Chatterbox, here you can just randomly spam, several "Friends Wanted" threads are moved here, if you don't want to go through the hassle of digging through threads or making your own, you can just put out and post in one of these threads.

In Barton Town, here you can Adventure Roleplay. Roleplaying leads to many friendships, I know this from personal experience. I still talk to the friends I used to roleplay with. Here, you can Roleplay your favorite videogames (Final Fantasy X for example) your favorite book (Harry Potter, another example), your favorite movie (Perhaps, Troy?) and many unbased roleplays like Fantasy/Midevil, Prairie/Western Roleplays and so on… If you are a good roleplayer, maybe another may PM you and you can talk about the subject you were roleplaying about.

In the GAIA Commerce, you can Business Roleplay, several Bars are open to everyone here. You can hold a casual conversation, or have a dance out on the dance floor. Personally, I wouldn't go here to make friends, seeing that the majority of threads there are for Business Roleplay.

In the Guilds Forum, this is the BEST place to make friends. Guilds are sort of like clubs in which you can join and roleplay about the Guild's interest, talk about the interest, converse about anything that revolves around that certain interest (Like Lord of the Rings for example).

Next, in the Anime/Mangas/Comic Forum, you can talk about.. Well...Anime, Manga, and Comics.

It can stream from current Anime that is on the television, to the show's soundtrack. (Like FLCL's The Pillows).If you share a liking for Anime or Manga or perhaps Comics, you can make friends here.

In the Video Games Discussion Forum, if you really like Video Games, you can talk about them in here. You can talk about the company which distributes the game, about the creators, when the next game in the series will come out. And much more.

In the Music Forum, music lovers are BOUND to find friends.

There are many Subforums in the Music Forum (Look at my Forums Index Guide for a list of the Subforums.)If you like perhaps Hip-Hop or Rap, you can go to the Hip Hop Subforum. If you like Independant bands like Bright Eyes or other underground bands, you can go to the Indie/Other Subforum. 3nodding

In the Sports Forum, it's obvious of what you talk about here. If you want to talk about the History of Baseball, or maybe about your favorite Hockey Team, or the Olympics, you can talk about it here and make several threads.

In the Writer's Forum, if you happen to like writing Prose or Poetry or Fan Fiction, you're welcome to come here and post excerpts or your story, read and rate other Fan Fiction, and perhaps share stories with other People.
