You make your way into a dimly lit cave in a remote location far from any towns or villages. The dampness sinks into your layers of clothing as echoing droplets, whispering-low growls and the sound of shuffling feet can barely be heard from the depths of the cavern. You had heard rumor of strange and powerful beasts that live in the cave... and the few people who dwelled in the darkness to take care of them.
The nature of these beasts is true mystery. Some say they're possessed feral creatures abandoned and left to rot through for centuries in the chilly abyss, others say they are demons creeping upwards from the underworld to claim the lives of lost travellers. Some say that these creatures can be called from a life of imprisonment to serve humanity.
As you journey farther and farther into the cave, you can see several figures calmly lounging within the shadows. Torchlight reveals two women sitting at a long oak table, one of raven hair and the other of an oddly-bright magenta. The dark haired woman turns to greet you as you wearily approach, leaning her elbows onto the table. "Well hello! I suppose you're here to try and taim one of these wild creatures for your own, eh? It will take one who is truly dedicated to calm and train such a beast as the Banthi." You nod slowly, pretty much everything the weird lady had uttered might as well have been in another language. Unsure of what you're getting yourself into, you consider turning tail and leaving this aweful place of mysticism. Before you could make a decision, you're stopped just as the magenta haired woman turns. Digging into a pile of rubble and dust behind, she produces what appears to be a petrified limb, clawed talons digging into a dimly-shimmering gem held firmly in place. "If you want one of these babies for yourself, you're gonna have to read the rules first." She gave an unsettling smirk and motioned her hand in a shooing gesture, tossing an extremely large, dusty and worn book onto the table. "You still here? Get reading!"</center>

The Banthi have been a legend since time began, but like most legends, they are often forgotten. Rabid and Kitara both deeply believed these creatures still existed but lacked any proof. After having studied the Banthi legends and myths for years, they both set out in search of them. They soon arrived at an abandoned and secluded cave, the only clue to where these beasts dwelled . Journeying farther into the cave than any human had ever before, Rabid and Kitara found old, petrified claw-like stands that held different colour gems. Convinced they had found the Banthi, Rabid and Kitara started to make the cave home and spent several days trying to pry the gems from the claw's deathgrip (That'd be Rabid... she's greedy like that XD) Luckily, the cave held more than just the gems... It held shelve upon shelve of old records of Banthi legend and mystery. After reading all they could, Rabid performed the very first calling. Both were amazed when the stone claw shattered and the gem itself formed into a small, helpless Banthi. After such, Kitara called her own gem and both began to raise the small beasts in the safety of the deep caverns, making sure to produce the best of the rare species.

Like all the other shops out there, we have rules and warnings. I bet you're all jumping for joy!

1- Read the rules, of course!
2- Take good care of your Banthi, if not they may reject you and possibly even forcefully revert themselves back to gem form.
3- Be nice to all, no fighting! *waves finger*
4- Don't cry for a Banthi... You probably won't get one if you do.
5- Be patient, Rabid and I can't just colour our lives away.
6- If your Banthi suffers from a major wound in battle, it might end up with scars. Pick your fights wisely.
7- Don't PM the owners saying 'I WANT ONE!!11one!!' or asking them to sell theirs... You'll only guarantee that you'll NEVER get one.
8- No spam. Spam is only good in the can, anything else here that's spam is against the rules.
9- Do NOT steal or edit ANYTHING in this shop. If we catch you doing so, we'll hang you by your own organs. (Rabid: >.< I MEAN IT!!!)
10- Direct link your certs at all times. You can save them to your own server if you wish, but if you add items or if it hasn't matured fully, we won't be reponsible for giving you the URL again.
11- You may only own TWO Banthi. This even means when you breed your Banthi but already own two, you may ONLY keep those two.
12- Read the rules before asking us ANYTHING. If you ask us something that's right here on the front page, we will NOT answer you.
13- Don't grab a gem and never return. We work HARD on these and don't want them to just end up rotting in your sig or page somewhere. We do not support pet collectors.
14- You may bump, but not in excess. Lots of bumping will be counted as spam.
15- If a Banthi is not in the auction/ flatsale post then it is NOT FOR SALE!
16- Feel free to PM us with any questions that have not been answered on the front page, but don't go pestering us with stuff that's already been said. -.o
17- If you have a problem or conflict with someone in the thread, PLEASE take it to PM. We don't want unnecessary fights or quarrels in our thread, please.
18- HAVE FUN, DAMMIT! ^_^;

The Banthi have three stages of development:

This is the first stage or 'The Gem Stage'. This stage is where your Banthi is still dormant inside it's gem-form. The stone claw that holds the gem itself was once the Banthi's original body, but after death the body petrified itself and broke apart, remnants forming into a stone claw-like stand that supports the gem containing the Banthi's soul or spirit, a physical manifestation of it. The size of this stage is about 14 inches tall. Not much is required to take care of this stage, just don't break it or anything...

This is the second stage, or 'The Cub' stage. Once your gem has been awakened and has broken away from the stone claw that imprisons it, this cute little thing will emerge from the gem. This stage is when the Banthi depends on you the most. At it's infant stage, it will learn how to walk, eat solid food, and how to 'talk' telepathically with other Banthi's. At this stage, your Banthi is about the size of a grown housecat. Males are a bit bigger then females, which is usually the best way to tell the genders apart. Sadly, as most cases have proven, your Banthi cannot communicate with you directly, it can only use it's body language or other means of expressing itself.

The final stage of growth, or 'The Adult Stage' is where your Banthi has reached the height of perfection! Now fully grown, Banthi can communicate telepathically quite well with others of their species. Your Banthi has also reached it's height in growth, in which case males reach up to mid-waist and females reach to about the height of your hips. The result of this stage may be good or bad, it all depends on how well you treated and cared for it when it was a young cub. A neglected Banthi may rise up against it's owner... possibly causing damage to you or other Banthi. However, documents have shown that a well-treated Banthi will protect it's keeper through thick and thin, never leaving their side. Who knows... You may even be able to communicate without words. It all depends on how strong you connect with it.

If your Banthi is fully grown, it can start searching for a mate. Once your Banthi has found it's significant other, they can choose to breed. (Permission must be sent to Rabid or myself from BOTH owners before the pair has permission to mate.) The mating fee will consist of 500 gold per owner; 1,000 gold all together. The breeding pair contribute part of their own spiritual being to create a new gem in addition to the physical requirements, therefore in most cases same-gender mates cannot produce young. -.o It just doesn't work out.

Breeding Information
- Breeding must be open to be able to have two Banthi mate.
- Banthi will create 2-4 gems per breeding. The more fertile the more gems.
- The time it takes for the gems to be produced can range from a few days to a few weeks, it all depends on how busy Rabid and I are.
- Banthi mate for life and must stick by their partner.
- Banthi are limited to 3 or 4 litters for their own health and wellbeing.
- Each owner is only allowed to keep ONE gem per breeding, but if you already have two Banthi, you may NOT keep any more gems from further breedings.
- Gems that don't go to either owner will be auctioned off. Only WE may auction them off.
- If you wish to give the gem to a friend, your friend MUST pay 3.5k to Banthi Caverns and send a PM to Rabid Jigglypuff stating which gem they want, the name, and gender.

Breeding Between Different Generations
A recent development in banthi research has led Kitara and Rabid to believe that intra-gen breeding is indeed a safe process for Banthi to partake in. However, there are some specific rules that must be followed for this process to be beneficial to the species and bloodlines.

1. A Banthi's mate must be no more than one generation above or below their own generation number.
(Ex. Gen 1 + Gen 2. NOT Gen 1 + Gen 3.)
2. The breeding fee for an intra-gen pair will be raised to 2K. (1K per owner)
3. Intra-gen pairs are limited to 3 litters maximum.
4. Rules regarding gems are as stands.

Here are some things you can feed, give, or dress your Banthi in! If the item shop is open, then PM Rabid Jigglypuff with a list of everything you want. Once she approves it, send a trade to Rabid Jigglypuff with the exact amount of gold and title the trade 'Items' or something of the like so we can tell what it's for.

The Etitep Plant
Cost: 100g

The Etitep plant stunts Banthi's growth. If you wish to keep your Banthi as a cub forever then all you have to do is purchase this plant and feed it to them when they are a cub. If you try and give it to them when they're an adult, their body will reject it and they will most likely become ill. Once they ingest it, their growth will be forever stunted. Now being that your Banthi is a cub, it may NOT fight, mate, or do anything that only adults can do. Mind you, your Banthi will continue to age mentally and might suffer depression from the lack of growth. Choose wisely.

Etitep Remedy
Cost: 5,000g

This is the ONLY thing that will reverse the effect of the Etitep plant. If somehow you have given your Banthi the Etitep plant and want to let them continue their growth process, all you have to do is purchase this... rather nasty looking fluid and force feed it to them. From which the Etitep plants effects will be killed off and they will mature normally.

Nori Pills
Cost: 3,000g

Nori pills will increase your Banthi's rank or level in the battle field by one level. You may ONLY purchase these once. In other words, ONE PER BANTHI! Of course if your Banthi hasen't taken Nori pills before and is in the Elite class, they may not use Nori pills to move themselves into the Alpha position. The Alpha position may only be won by challenging one of the current Alphas.

Medical Kit
Cost: 1,000g

If your Banthi is a battler, it may get pretty wounded during a fight. If so, you may purchase one of these medical kits to try and lessen the chance of any scars appearing. If your Banthi ever gets injured we will always care for it the best we can, but if you don't want any scars after the battle, you must treat them with this special medical kit. It's not guaranteed to work, but it may help the scars be less visible or prevent them altogether. It just depends on luck. You may only purchase TWO medical kits per Banthi in their lifetime

Henkei-Yudoku Serum
Cost: 20,000g

Henkei-Yudoku roughly translates to toxic mutation and for good reason. Once injected into your adult Banthi, it will undergo a wide variety of physical changes. This is for both adult genders and the mutations can range from multiple wings, multiple horns, multiple tails, large fangs, spikes on it's body, and much more. In other words, it accelerates cellular growth in certain areas of the body. Once the mutation is complete it's irreversible and can only be performed once. That means you can only buy the serum once and once your Banthi has mutated, theirs no turning back. Make sure this is what you want before making the purchase.

Sometimes Banthi need to work out their frustration by fighting one another or so they can climb the ranks and be considered a fit mate. Both male and female Banthi are capable of battle, though it's more common for males to fight over a female or to be considered the 'alpha' of the pack. Not all Banthi must fight though, it is understandable if they choose a more peaceful lifestyle.

Rules
- You must PM us with the information below and we must accept it in order for your Banthi to be placed in a rank.
- We advise that your Banthi battle only those of the same rank, but we will allow a battle between different ranks if the reason is just.
- Your Banthi must have a reason to fight. Say, wanting to increase in rank to defend or acquire a mate, or to settle a dispute.
- Both owners must agree OOC that they are willing to participate in the battle.
- You may NOT start a battle without Rabid or Kitara’s consent.
- You have a time limit of one hour to battle.
- If one or both owners must leave during a battle, we will stop the battle and judge by the damage that has already been caused, who the winner is.
- Some Banthi may have natural advantages over others. Say a fox type Banthi faced Amon, Rabid's winged tiger Banthi, Amon would have the ability of flight and would be more powerful, but the fox type would be much more agile and could sneak attack. Age may also play a factor in experience.

Judging
Once the time limit is up, Rabid and I will break the two Banthi up and look them over. Once we determine who is in the better shape and has the most energy left in them at the end of the match, a winner will be declared. If your Banthi wins, they will move up one rank. If your Banthi looses, they will stay in the spot they were already in. If we think it's a tie, the owners can either BOTH say they would like a re-match or neither of your Banthi will move up or down in rank. The only exception is in the case of the Alpha rank, where the loser will have to step down from the rank to make way for the new Alpha.

Joining Battle
If you wish to have your Banthi battle, you must state this in your PM to Rabid or me.

I was the one who originally thought up the idea of starting a breedable. Rabid, being one of my closest friends, announced that she would help me all the way with it. Even though I'm an artist, I don't really think of my art as... pet material. Same with my CGing skills. Both are required to have breedable-pet success, unfortunately. Rabid was then put in charge of drawing out the pet ideas and colouring. My interests are anime, manga, movies, drawing, and waisting my life away on the internet. I do NOT have a life and never will, lives are over-rated. XP I also dislike n00bs, snobs, 'popular' people, and monkies. Yes, monkies.

We do pet trade, but only for certain pets. If you wish to trade a pet of your own then you must PM either/ or both of us with which pet you're offering along with a link to your shop. We may accept and we may decline. It all depends, so don't be upset if we decide not to.... We know that this list is largely just wishfull thinking. xd

Reasan = Lied numerous times why he couldn't RP his Banthi when it stated that she was STRICTLY a RP-required pet. Kept going with the same lie (Here) and tried to guilt-trip me and even stated so in the GENTech thread. (Here)

All donators may receive one custom banthi plushie on their first donation, no matter what the amount. Each donation thereafter must exceed a minimum of 1,000g to receive another, and so on. Banthi plushies requiring altered lineart take much more work to create, and therefore the amount of donation given must reflect this labor to a certain extent. All plushies are copywrited to Kitara Kata and Rabid Jigglypuff.

Life of the Kitara

Breedings, auctions, flatsales, oh my. @_@ *collapse*

Were starting to get really busy now that breeding has opened and auctions and flatsales are still going to occur regularly. Everyone give extra love to Rabid since she's juggling all the growings, auctions, and flatsales. She DOES need a union. xd I even feel busy and I'm just the clerk!

Things will keep going like usual, just thought I should update this. ^^ Hope everyones having a good time RPing!
