We needed an avatar rating thread... so I made one. You know the drill.
The majority of the content below this line hasn't been updated within the last 12 months. There is no code-word you need to get rated. There is no list of rules. Feel free to read it all if you want to, though I probably wouldn't.

Here is an explanation of how I rate avatars:
Color: Do the colors go together? If you have a solid color theme, you'll get a good rating
Lines: Do the actual pieces of clothing match? Goth boots don't go with Kimonos...
Originality: All the nightmare stuff you can find plus an OMG plus penguin slippers is NOT original.
Finally: These are not necessarily even thirds of my ratings! There is a certain amount of unpredictability, given how much stuff there is on Gaia to wear. So, if one part of your outfit really impresses me, it could easily bring you up depsite otherwise low scores in the other areas. However, the only way to get a 10 is to impress me in all three areas!
About Ratings and Hand Positions:
With the new Avatar system in place, we can, of course, all change our avatars' hand positions. I do NOT think any one hand position looks better or worse then the rest. However, there are certain items of clothing, yukatas for instance, in which I think moving one arm or the other makes the item look worse. In cases like these, where I think a different arm position will make an avatar look better, I WILL lower my score, and mention it in my rating. As with my opinions regarding other things, this does not necessarily apply to my other raters.

If you get mad because I or one of my raters gives you a rating you don't like, just remember this: this is a thread for people to ask us to rate them. If YOU ASK US to rate you, you are inviting our judgement, no matter what it is. If you can't handle a bad rating, please, don't ask to be rated.

Ok, seriously people, if you have a problem with the fact that I rate all-black avatars lowly DON'T TELL ME ABOUT IT, I DON'T CARE. You WILL NOT change my opinion. If you want avatars rated differently, make your OWN RATINGS THREAD.
Furthermore, don't insult my avatar after I give you a low rating. I'm not asking for your opinion, you're asking for mine. Seriously, that's just low-class.

I find myself saying this a lot, so I want to put it where everyone should see it:
I want people to do whatever the heck they want with their avatars! I don't want everyone on Gaia to conform to my sense of style, that would be awful!!

Mothfox, I would loike your outfit, except that everything you're wearing (the Yukata and staff are less so) is so common, they just get boring! There are too many foxes on Gaia. 4/10
