<center>Latest News!
April 20th. Damn, its been too long. The DS finally has a new color coming in. Its blue. Its a nice blue. But its a blue. Yeah. Im going to try to do some other updates really soon. I promise.

February 3rd. Sony has released a date and price for the PSP. It shall release on March 24th. And it will cost $250. Check out the official list of games and stuff at www.gamesarefun.com

Jan. 24th. Well, those upset about PSP defects, Sony has made a statement, and apparantly, all problems you have is your fault. Heres the link:http://psp.ign.com/articles/581/581896p1.html

Dec 30th-Well, its been a while, so I decided to do a bunch of updates in one big thing. We got a big amount of new games coming out for the DS. Check out any of the links in the link section to find all that stuff out. And the PSP launched in Japan on the 21st. And (almost expectedly) the thing has serious hardware issues. Nubs falling off, square button sticking, the system not turning on, and the games flying out of the back. These are obviously big problems that Sony will have to fix soon or else they face a severe loss of profit on the system. Well, Im updating two sections of the thread, and I will be making a new one. Its a secret. So, you'll find out later.

And thats news to me.

Dec 15th. Its been a while, eat me. Anyway, Nintendo has announced a small media adaptor for the GBA and DS. Its basically a memory card that fits in the GBA port on the DS and the only port on the GBA. Check it out here(even though I hate IGN):
http://gameboy.ign.com/articles/573/573438p1.html?fromint=1

Dec 12th. PSP was released in Japan today. There is no date set for an American release however. Well keep you updated.

Dec 1st. Well, I started to put in some game reviews for the DS. Ive only got one so far, but more should be on the way.

Nov. 28th. Well, there are rumors circulating that Miyamoto has confirmed that the DS will be going online. The onl source I have is a B rated site, but here is the link.

http://ds.advancedmn.com/

Nov. 21st. The day is here. The DS is out. Later, I shall be adding updates for the system and my own reviews for games. Stay tuned.

Nov. 5th Nintendo launches the official DS website. It can be found here at www.nintendods.com

Nov 4th-Nintendo has released playable versions of the launch titles and some other games in Tokyo. The information can be found at www.ign.com

October 27th- Sony has released specs and details about the PSP. We are up to 4 to 6 hours of gameplay. However, extra battery packs are available for the system. The PSP will almost definately cost 200 dollars now.

October 20th-IGN has views of the official box art for the DS games. Its not much, but our breath gets a little thicker.Check IGN for details.

October 14th-Sony has announced that they will announce the release of the PSP exactly one month before its release. That means that if it comes out on February 5th, they will announce its release on January 5th. This is exactly what they did with the PS 10 years ago.

The DS launch date draws near as many of us wait with baited breath. Nintendo has a master game list for it that includes screenshots of nearly 31 games. These games are expected to come out at launch or soon there after.

Game List

And thats news to me.

October 7th- Nintendo announces that games will cost as little as 30 bucks for the DS. A small launch game list has been released.
Mario 64 DS
Madden NFL 2005
Tiger Woods Golf PGA
The Urbz: Sims in the City
AND
A "Major title from Activision"

Titles coming out soon after are:
Ping Pals
Feel the Magic XY/XX
RayMan DS
Asphalt Urban
Ridge Racer
Mr. Driller.

Have no fear, there will be up to 20 to 25 games after the first quarter of 2005 for the DS, so we will have much to play. And remember, the DS comes with the Pictochat and Metroid Prime:Hunters demo included.

And thats the latest.

September 2Oth- Nintendo announced that the DS will be released on November 21st in America, and on December 2 in Japan. This marks the first sales release that is outside Japan before anywhere else. The DS will cost $150 American dollars and will support the PictoChat out of the box without the need to purchase software.

<center>System Info

Nintendo DS

The DS stands for Dual Screens. This portable has two screens obviously that will simultaniously display the game. Both have 3d processors that are capable of running graphics sligthly superior to the Nintendo 64.

What is perhaps most interesting about the two screens is that the bottom screen is touch sensitive, much like a PDA. This allows games to be more interactive. Also, the DS supports wireless connectivity between up to 16 players. Also, the DS supports Wi-Fi capabilities. This means that players will be able to link up to the internet and play players across the planet. No official date is set yet. But it probably be released in November of 2004

It has been announced that the DS will be released on the 21st of November. It shall cost $149.99. It shall also have the "pictochat" built in. For those of us who dont know, pictochat is a instant message program that links several DS together.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sony PSP
The PSP is a powerhouse of graphics and power. Its graphics are superior to the PS2 but is actually slower. It also supports wireless connection to other PSP. However, it is unknown if it shall have Wi-Fi connectivity.

The PSP also has no release date, but will probably be released in the Winter of 2005. It is also probably going to be around 200 or 250 dollars.

<center>DS Game Review

Polarium
I watched Polarium for a long time. I first saw glimpses of it and though it would be a great game. I hoped and prayed for it to come faster, and finally, yesterday, I had it. And, it is great. But dammit, its too hard.

Im serious, it took me forever to get past level 23. This sucker is tough. Like, Sigourney Weaver tough. Im not saying thats bad. It adds a whole lot of depth to it that I otherwise would not have gotten. Im glad its hard.

The controls feel pretty good. Its a bit difficult to get so specific on the touch screen, but it still works fine. I

Bottom Line: Its a damn fine game that makes wonderful use of the touch screen. This game really couldn't be made on any other system, and its great to see Nintendo doing stuff like this.

Rating:
7 mangos out of pi!

Super Mario 64 DS
So, about 10 years ago, millions played what is considered by many to be one of the best games ever, and considered by more, the best platformer ever, period. The gameplay, sound, graphics, and engine was completely unseen for its time. It was new, genius, and most importantly, fun.

I was not one of these people. Sorry. I know, I missed out. And I have never before been more sure of this. I got to about star 50, and I said to myself, "Self, you really ******** up by not playing this game before."

Well, Ive now gone back and played the original too. And now I can safely say, that SM64DS totally blows the original out of the water. It sounds better, it runs smoother, and it looks incredible. And the amount of extras in this game make it more then worth the 35 bucks.

The only problem I have with the game is the controls. Its obvious that both this game, and the 64 were designed side by side. While the touch pad offers a pseudo solution, it still isnt the same at all.

Great/OMFG GET IT NOW!!!!!1111

Metroid Prime Hunters:First Hunt
Okay, well, obvioisly, after i booted up my DS and gave my name and all that jazz, I put in the free demo Nintendo has so graciously given us and started up. The intro is cool, and the graphics were slick. the menu was a little dificult to navigate. The reason was mainly I was using the "shoe" that came with the system. I suppose if one were using the stylus it would be much, much easier to navigate, but, no worries.

Gameplay was really slick. The whole game just runs so damn smoothly. While the enemy Metroids were kinda blocky, their movements were smooth and way beyond expectation. Whats great about this game is that there are literally 5 different control schemes. So really, ANYONE can play the way they want to. Its nice. A little bit more tweaking needs to be done for the controls, but thats about it. Really, the only problem I ran into while playing was the fact that I had to pick up my thumb over and over to turn around(slid across screen, pick up, move back, repeat). It wasnt too bad though, but Nintendo should fix that before the real game launchs.

The sound effects were cool and well done for what the portable can do.

Rating: Good/OMFG GET IT NOW!!!111

The DS itself
Okay, first thing is first. Damn, this thing is tiny. The DS is light, and sleek, it fits comfortably in the hand, and is really a joy to play any game. The backlighting is so great that it almost makes me want to cry. If you dont know, the difference between frontlighting and backlighting is that with frontlighting(ala GBASP) the colors get slightly washed out. With the backlighting, the colors stay vibrant and pretty, but, the tradeoff is that with the DS, the two screens are at slightly different angles(unless you put it in flat position). So, the colors are slightly off, but its really no big deal. The top screen feels nice and not heavy at all like I suspected that it might.

The touch screen is sensitive, but not TOO sensitive. All of your movements are well tracked, and are not exxagerrated or slowed down. Basically, it works like a champ. Thats all for the DS for now. Ill do some game reviews in a few days.

PSP Reviews

PSP Review

200410/22: So far the PSP has many good looking features to it, media, high graphics, large screen, an analog stick (pad really), USB, and wireless connectivity. But there's also very little known about it, cost hasn't been released and neither has the release date, over all review for today would have to be: Hold onto your SP for now gamers, the PSP looks like it's a bumpy ride

10/26: New information released for the PSP; it's going to cost around $200, likely less in the states but there's only 4 to 6 hours game play and 4 to 5 media play with its battery, I'm sorry but I need at least 10 hours for game play. It's possible Sony might make the battery more powerful when it comes to the States, but it's doubtful. Also in order to get the battery and AC adaptor it seems you have to buy a PSP pack, you could just buy the PSP, but then you dont get the AC adaptor or battery pack, seems kind of pointless that way. So the verdict today is: Oh my ******** god, what the hell is Sony thinking? Up the battery power and put everything together, till gamers see 10 hours for game play battery life, I say the PSP isn't worth buying.

11/8: After giving it some thought 6 hours for the PSP is just inconvienent but doable I suppose, but with higher graphic, lighting, and other features running it will eat more power making it pretty dangerous, but realizing the battery is removable that means Sony will release better batteries you can use instead of the one that comes with the PSP. So right now the PSP may be able to pass with its battery power, but right now its durability is the main concern, and Sony isnt well known for making droppable electronics. Over all: Gamers can deal and over look the battery power for now, but durability is where it's all at right now, if the PSP isnt durable you might as well flush it.

12/21: Sorry this is a bit late. Anyway, the PSP seems to have FAILED the durability test with flying colors, so dont get an import, wait for it to come out in the US and WAIT to see if they fixed the problems and if there are any other new problems. I suggest just waiting till the American durability test. Over all rating of the PSP today: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! SONY IS NOTHING BUT PURE EVIL! THE POWER OF CHRIST COMPELS YOU! THE POWER OF CHRIST COMPELS YOU!

4/5: I appologize that this is late, GAIA wasn't let me do any editing for a long time. Anyway, the PSP has been out in the US for a while. It seems most the problems have been fixed that were going on in Japan, no killing people with flying UMDs (awww...I really wanted to injure someone), and the shell is more durable, also the issue with the square button seems to have been fixed, dead pixels are still a problem but you can just return it (especially if you got it at best buy and it's before a month). Sound on the PSP is great, with or without headphones. Analog stick/pad/disk works nicely. The PSP also has a lot of power saving options to help keep it alive longer, it even has parental control, now THAT is handy for all those parents out there worried what their kids might be using their PSP for, you know who you are! Anyway, the PSP is very nice, I'm quite pleased with mine and I don't even have a game yet! surprised Problems though are of course the cost of the system and games, I'm still hoping the game cost will go down since I think Sony did take a loss but are trying to make up for it with games maybe. Anyway, Final Review of the PSP today: It's a really great system to have IF you have the money to spend on it, if you really can't afford spending $250+ on the system and a game or two and some accessories then don't bother.

Game Estimate ReviewsThis is where I'll review games I haven't been able to play yet but have got an estimate of what they're like from pictures, videos, reviews, and other sources.

Untold Legends

Seems like a very decent game, basically it's just all action, slash and such, I'm planning to buy it pretty soon so I'm hoping it'll be worth my money.

Game Reviews

Dynasty Warriors

I haven't gotten that far in this game at all, why? CUZ IT'S ******** HARD! But it is a very fun game so far from what I've played, but it get's frustrating when you feel like you're fighting the whole damn war, sometimes it really seems like your army is just standing there (in fact, sometimes you can catch them loafing on the job). Anyway, I'll add more to this review as soon as I can at least beat a few more levels stressed

If you have any helpful information about games or the PSP that you haven't seen posted and you think I should have them posted, please tell me, mainly via PM.
