About R.O.S.E. Online
http://www.roseon.com

R.O.S.E. Online was created by the same creators of RO: Gravity. As of right now, ROSE Online is absolutely FREE because it is only in the beta phase. Eventually, ROSE Online will probably make you pay the play, but that should take a long time (as it did with RO).

As with RO, this is a role-playing game where you start off with no class. In this game, you are a "Visitor." As you train and raise zuly (ROSE Online's monetary system), you eventually are able to change into one of four classes: a soldier, a hawker, a muse, or a dealer.

The game, as you will be able to see in many of the images below, is entirely 3D. It gives me the impression of little clay dolls, actually. When you first register, you are able to choose whether to be a girl or a boy, your hair style, your face style, your gem stone, and your start point. The start point is not actually the location that you begin. I believe that it really helps lead into whatever class you may choose.

If I were to give you a quick overview of this game, I'd tell you:
-it's a RPG
-it's 3D
-it's free
-you choose a class and kill monsters :3
-the file is 380 megabytes

Important Random Stuff

Important Note: In order to play, you must first register at the site.

Random Important things to know:

User Image

Copied from the ROSE Online website:
Strength = Max HP, power of near attack weapon (swords), defense, and carrying item abilities.

Dexterity = moving speed, distance attack weapons (bows), and dodge rates.

Intelligence = Max MP, magick weapon attack power, and magical resistance strength.

Concentration = Accuracy, posibility of crafting success, power of guns, and recovery speed of HP and MP.

Charm = Affects the conditions for quests, rewards for clearing the quests, and danger in hunting.

Sensibility = Sense in crafting items, battle, critical attack, quality of crafted items, and skill damages. Also gives you bonus stat points (possibly) when your level goes up.

zuly = the money system

The Classes
and what they're about

User Image
Soldier: becomes knight or champ at level 70
You may become a soldier at level 10 by talking to Warren in the town of Zant.

Main status: Strength
Other optional/lesser status: Concentration
Description: With formidable strength and physical endurance, Soldiers protect their comrades from enemies and eliminate evil monsters. Although they cannot use magic, they can use almost every type of weapon in order to inflict more damage onto enemies in battles.

User Image
Muse: becomes a cleric or magician at level 70
You may become a muse at level 10 by talking to Warren in the town of Zant.

Main status: Intelligence
Description: Training themselves to communicate and harmonize with the universe, Muses can use magical spells derived from the elements. Although they are only able to use basic magic, Muses are welcome in parties for the power of their spells which surpass that of any wielded weapon.

User Image
Hawker: becomes a scout or a raider at level 70
You may become a hawker at level 10 by talking to Warren in the town of Zant.

Main status: Dexterity
Other optional/lesser status: Sensibility (or even concentration if you want)
Description: Hawkers are born to be adventurers who love exploring dangerous or legendary places that others may fear. They have various abilities and skills that are ideal for exploring dangerous areas. Hawkers can advance to Scouts which specialize in leading expeditions, or Raiders which focus on assassination.
Extra random info: Dexterity not only speeds up your attacks, but it also increases the strength of your katar and bow, moving speed, and dodge rate. Since Hawkers use either some sort of katar weapon or some sort of bow, dexterity is VERY important.

User Image
Dealer: becomes a bourgeois or an artisan at level 70
You may become a dealer at level 10 by talking to Warren in the town of Zant.

Main status: Concentration
Other optional/lesser status: Sensibility
Description: Dealers that travel around the planets to trade rare products have one important policy in business: Buy anything cheap and sell it at a high price. They are also very good at crafting items and selling those goods to make a profit. In the world of R.O.S.E., danger cannot be avoided when traveling, so the Dealers know how to protect themselves from threats.

'Cause he rocks like that

Kiro's Tips for RoseON!
For Beginners:

-When you first start off your character, do -not- go straight into the Adventure world. Instead, talk to the fairy and ask her each and every question you can. You'll gain your first easy level simply by chatting with her, along with a myriad of fruit. When she sends you on the challenges, you'll have to kill 4 Little Jelly Beans. Report to her and click on the same answers and she'll send you to kill 4 Little Choppies (sp?). Then do it again and she'll send you to kill 8 Little or Regular Choppies. If you do so, you'll get 20 Bananas or something of that sort, which will help you out IMMENSELY as a beginner. Remember to also hotkey your fruits so you can heal quickly. (To do this, press ALT+I to access your inventory. Then, drag the Banana icon to the bottom right part of the your screen, you should see a bar with slots on it and numbers 1-9. Set it on 3, and from then on, as long as you have Bananas (or any other item) you can use it by simply pressing F3).

-To make your life a bit easier, Hotkey Sit and Gather. (I have sit on F1 and gather on F2). This way, after you kill a monster, just press F2 and you'll automatically go to pick it up, which is better than clicking randomly around the item until you get it =p

-Always. ALWAYS. Alwaysalwaysalways pick up whatever monsters drop. This is going to be your sole source of income (Unless your a Dealer (so you can make things to sell) or a Muse (so you can sell your healing and buffing services), and even then, not until higher levels. After each leveling run, go sell all the items you gathered from monsters. Trust me, it adds up! At Lv. 9 with my Visitor I had roughly 12k to play around with.

-Contrary to popular belief, UPGRADE YOUR ARMOR WHENEVER YOU CAN! This will make your life easier, and you can always sell back the same armor to buy something new at a lower price. This way, you can fight stronger mobs and be able to level up quicker than fighting the same weaker monsters for low XP because of your sub-par equipment.

-Once you have enough money and your Job, try to avoid buying items from stores. Buy them from users instead. There isn't a shortage of User Shops (Just visit Kant and you'll see what I mean ^_~). User sold items are usually much cheaper, and they may carry extra attribute boosts. For example, the Short Sword sold at the shops is the same, through and through. However, user-made or user-found Short Swords might come with added Attack Power, or other nifty things. Also, you may be wondering why you see some weapons such as Short Sword (2) or Javerin (1). This means they are upgraded, stronger versions, and thus, keep and eye out for them!

-As silly as it may sound, it's a good idea to keep your equipment in tip top shape (specially if you just bought a user item). To do so, go to Kant and speak with the Arms (weapons?) dealer. He's able to repair anything (even though he only mentions Weapons, he can repair armor too!). This way, you won't have to worry about being in the middle of nowhere and having your shiny new sword break in front of your eyes o.o

For the rest:

-Keep an eye on the icons that appear next to the enemies names. You may have seen Red Flames, One Sword, Two Swords, and Stars next to the name of an enemy. This denotes how strong it is. From what I have seen, Red Flames are usually the lower breed of the monster, One Sword, Two Sword, and then Stars following. This may seem silly, but sometimes you see a Yellow Monster who ends up taking most of your HP away because he's alot stronger than he looks (For example, Woopy's. The regular and Cook Woopy's seem pretty bland, but the Gluttonous Woopy's (grey ones) can attack twice in a turn, have a ton more HP, but still show up yellow to most people that see yellow Woopys. I learn this the hard way >.< wink .

-If you use ranged weapons, always try to start battle from the furthest possible spot you can. This way, you can get a good 3-4 shots in before the enemy even reaches you. As you get stronger, you might be able to kill an enemy before it even has a chance to strike, making it easier to hunt for prolongued ammounts of time.

-Time your healing items. As opposed to most RPGs, here, when you use a healing item, it slowly begins to heal you. If a monster gets you to 0 HP before the healing item has a chance to act, you -will- die, so don't wait too long before using that banana! (The exception to this are the Life Saving potions, which are fast acting, though much pricier).

That's all for now. Hope it helps someone!

Kiro's Guide to RoseON Etiquette!
-First off. This is something that's huge in EVERY MMORPG, and that, if you wish to make friends and have a succesful RoseON life, you should follow.

Do. Not. Kill. Steal.

What is kill stealing? It's basically walking up to a monster that someone has been attacking, and finishing it off so you get part of the XP and perhaps even the loot. This isn't only EXTREMELY annoying, it isn't fair and is looked down upon. You will quickly make enemies, and you won't get as much XP or loot as you could if you simply hunted your own loot.

I do know that people have accidents, but always be courteous and apoligize if you accidently hit or killed an enemy that wasn't yours. It's nice, it's polite, and it will get you very far. As you'll learn soon if this is your first MMORPG, when you get to higher levels, friends are THE most important thing you can have ^^

-Don't get into pissing contests over ANYTHING using shout. Shout (Typing ! before your message so everyone in the area can hear it) is for making announcements, offering items, or having a chat with someone too far away. Don't use it to complain about the game. Don't use it to try to haggle prices with someone. For the love of God don't use it to attack anyone, as it gets annoying and everyone has to deal with it. Shout can also be used to obtain information (I.e. Where can I find [insert something here]?). However, it's nobody's job to give you the information, so don't complain if it doesn't come to you as quickly as you'd like. Remember, you're ASKING for HELP, don't make demands!

-Just like in the real world, not everyone is as social or as tactful as you'd wish they'd be. The best way to avoid and dumb argument is to ignore. Walk away, go do something else, it's a big world. And don't be offended if someone tells you to buzz off while you're trying to talk to them. Personally, there are times when I don't talk to anyone because I'm focused on leveling. It's not because I'm a mean person (well, I am, but not the point) but I simply don't want to sit around and chat. Don't take it personally.

-This is more of an advice than a guideline. If someone is lost, help 'em out? I know I got my fair share of directions from people when I started the game, and I do my best to help others. Just remember how lost you were the first time, and try to make it at least a little easier for newbies biggrin

Kiro's Guide to Quick and Easy Exp!

Oh, one quick hint to everyone. Saiyon and Juresei (In Adventure Plains and Kant, respectively) can give you VERY easy XP if you know what to do. First, talk to Saiyon in Adventure Plains (He's the guy standing close to the Bear that sells armor.). Tell him you want to run an errand for him, and he'll give you a Price List. Now run your happy little behind all the way to Kant (To get to Kant, go East in Adventure Plains over the two small bridges, then north where the arrow is pointing. You'll get to The Valley of Luxem Tower. From here, go straight north and to the west over the bridges and you'll see a path to The City of Kant. Go to Kant, head inside the city, and go towards the far western edge. You should see Juresei there. Deliver the Price Chart to him (You'll get some nice XP for this) and he'll ask you if you can take it back to Saiyon. If you do so, you get more XP, and you can keep this up for a while! I've personally gotten roughly 7,000 XP for Kiro this way and haven't bothered to check if I can still get more xd
EDIT: You can repeat the Price List quest as many times as you want AS LONG AS YOU'RE LEVEL IS UNDER 20!

User Submitted Tips
If you have a tip, post it in this thread and I'll quote you in here

KraZi - About buying weapons
Also, for whatever job you're going for, you should get a piece of paper and write down the requirements for the next weapon which you're getting so you know what to level it up to. You should also write down the cost and stats of armor which you're aiming to get in the NPC shops. Then you should look around at other people's things. You can usually find the weapon or armour that you're looking for at a better price with better stats. They might be damaged a lot, but for 345 or something zuly, you can repair it up again. Believe me, it's worth paying that extra money to fix it. Especially if you find an equipment with a (2), that means it's upgraded or soemthing.

Toubleshooting and/or FAQ

If your game freezes, causes your computer to reboot on it's own, or even just runs choppy :

1.) Try downloading the updated driver for your graphics card.

2.) Go to your Start menu (if you're using Windows), go to your ROSE Online folder (it should be under All Programs), and select Configuration. Then put the slider all the way over to performance (FAR right). Hit apply, and your game should automatically start up. This should help IMMENSELY with the lagging, and the quality of the graphics is not even microscopically noticeable. --1&2 Submitted by Fahsky--
