Welcome to Gaia! ::

The curtain is ragged and dingy, and smells faintly of mold and dampness as you duck behind it. One whole wall is dedicated to nothing but shelves. An assortment of scrolls and weapons lay neatly on each one.

Sari is busy straightening up a small counter, the only furniture to speak of in the room. She looks up with a quick, bright smile as you enter; but she also neatly shoves a large, leather-bound tome out of sight.

"So you decided to come here after all, did you? Well, welcome to my shop then. Don't mind the location; this isn't mainstream, you understand. Here, on these shelves, lie objects of power. They can be yours - for a price." Her wide grin is shameless as she beckons you closer. "Of the shopkeeps, I am the one who least desires power; thus these wares were entrusted to me."

She watches as you peruse the shelves.

"Take your time deciding. And if there's nothing here you like now, feel free to wait and come back; my stock changes from time to time. But if there's something here you like now, better get it soon. Once it's gone I can't guarantee I'll be able to find another."
Kasaru grimaced as he sauntered into the store, his spear clacking against the ground at random intervals - this was it? He couldn't help but raise a brow, a brow unhidden by his grimy hood for he had long since pulled it down.

He wasn't impressed by the interior but he had long since grown used to stores such as these, the merchants were often shifty and suspicious but they provided him with all he required at suitable prices. He couldn't help but glare however at the lack of items upon the shelves that he found of interest - Not only that but they were insanely expensive, he could scarcely afford to purchase any of them!

His eyes narrowed into mere slits as he examined the small pouch that he had, in total he had sixty one demos that he could use to purchase his items. He had no use for swords - they weighted him down and armour was just as bad...

All in all he was a little disgusted at the prices, he could get them so much cheaper on the black market and through experimentation of his own!

"Hmph!" He snorted to reveal his disgust, a small glint flashing through his eyes - the spells and gauntlet were of particular interest to him but the spells were more of his concern. They held knowledge - and if he memorised them through these scrolls he would never forget them - they may even replace some of the ones he had lost.

...Were they the ones he had lost?

He shook his head dismissively at the thought and thumbed his way through the various scrolls - he had not the money for the lousy angelic currency, nor for the neutral and tisk - would you believe he was 14 demos off the bloody gauntlet? He already knew how to use fire spells - demonic beings specialised in them!

His jaw tightened as he examined the artefacts more closely, his mind lost in thought.

"Can I not haggle?" He enquired roughly as he swung round to stare at Sarielle. His brow furrowed however at her fuzzy exterior, he could have been tired but his vision had been troubling him for sometime, "Or add two currencies together to gain what I want?" He added in a sharp voice.

...Maybe he would ask Korin about his vision in a while - she always had been good at first aid.
Daine stalked in, angry at the man who had just shoved her into this dank little hole of a shop. She snorted at the musky scent that was nearly overwhelming to her sensitive nose. She looked around at the shelves and her mood lightened a little as she saw the objects for sale though. Brushing past Kasaru she began to peruse the shelves. A healing spell could be useful indeed, the dark gauntlet also sparked her interest. Despite her angelic alignment, any kind of weapon, whether it be angelic, neutral, or demonic in alignment, interested her. She reached out to the gauntlet but then stopped and looked back at Sarielle. "Just what does this gauntlet do exactly?"
Kasaru grimaced lightly and bit his tongue as he recognised the traditional stomping of the feet - oh, it was her, how delightful. Little Miss Twinkle Toes had come to demand her rewards, pathetic welp and she was even heading for something that related directly to the darkened powers? She was a bad girl.

"Well excuse me," Kasaru muttered sarcastically, his eyes flicking around briefly to focus on the angelic beings back, "I never knew you had full reign of this store, perhaps in future I should smash you into a few shelves to repay you?" He hissed and swung round again to thumb through the scrolls again - worthless child, hypocrit as well...

Maybe if he pushed her off a cliff nobody would notice.

Healer

Sari watched the exchange with a hooded expression, content to let them settle things on their own.

"I'm sorry, Kasaru, I'm not sure. The three of us have a vested interest in it; and while Male I think would be easier to convince, I need to confer with Sunstrike before I say anything for certain."

She turned to Daine, who was examining the Dark Gauntlet. "I have never used such a thing myself; but perhaps you should ask Kasaru, he seemed to be rather interested in it."

Her smile was seraphic. If she knew what she was doing, she didn't let on.
Daine rolled her eyes at Kasaru and commented "You're such a whiner." as she examined the healing spell. She smiled as Sarielle addressed her, but the smile turned into a rather neutral expression as she mentioned asking Kasaru. She debated mentally with herself. She really didn't want to give Kas the satisfaction of him knowing something she didn't...his head hardly needed more swelling. but then again, the gauntlet was rather intriguing. She huffed and turned to the demon and asked "Well? do you know what it does?"
"Perhaps," Kasaru replied snidely, however after a few months he released a chuckle and calmly returned his attentions to the scrolls once more, thumbing through the parchment as he contemplated what had been said - well, perhaps it would be somewhat easier to simply wait until he had the money - he rarely used gauntlets anyway, his magic provided suitable protection from that.

"But in my eyes - it is a little hypocritical for one such as you to wield something so dark," He purred at last, his eyes glittering with malice though they remained unseen due to his back being turned on the pair. It was simply delightful to have at last said it properly and to irritate her was even more satisfying than he anticipated.

"Why ask me however, hm?" He added, swinging round once more to observe the girl with a raised brow, although he appeared somewhat strained in his sights, "I am just the mage and an evil," he took a step towards her and then spoke again.

"Selfish." Another step.

"Conniving," Another step...

"And disgusting creature in your eyes," He paused as he came face to face with her, the cruel smile flashing up onto his lips, "Is that not what you told Matt my dear girl?" He enquired and then spun around once more, grasping his staff for balance as he returned his attentions towards the shelves once more.

"Highly ironic that you should therefore ask me for information if you detest me so." He finished at last, leaning his weight on his spear as he contemplated his next course of action.
Daine frowned slightly, dark gauntlet in hand as the demon advanced upon her. Was that why he was so rude to her? "err...did i say that?" she asked him, honestly not remembering. she figured it must have been from her earlier days when she had only just come from her shield. She felt rather guilty now though.
"I would not say it if it had not occured." Kasaru growled in a somewhat hollow tone, his shoulders slumped and he carefully leant against his spear as he closed his eyes and listened to the crackling of the lightning upon its bladed tip. It was relaxing and considering the environment, it was just about the only thing that he could use as support right now.

- He was literally dead on his feet and in absolutely no mood to continue the conversation in a fashion he normally would. As an adult, he would be able to deal with the strain of a lack of sleep but as he had been reminded time and time again by his guardian - he was just a child, not an adult and it would be quite some time before he was capable of doing so, only straining himself would make it take a lot longer...

Healer

"Let me know when you've decided what you would like to purchase - or even if you'd like to wait," Sari interjected at this point. "If you WOULD like to purchase something, it may take a day or two for delivery, but I'll see that it arrived in tip-top condition when it does."

Healer

((For those who asked:

This time around, you MAY trade shinies of one type for shinies of another, but it must be with another player. We won't change them for you.

Also, the combinations you got weren't arbitrary; they were based on the responses you gave; so if you choose to trade you won't necessarily end up withan item that reflects your character's personality.))
Daine shook her head. She did remember her first day, Matt had been there, and now that she thought about it Kasaru had been there too...she must have said something offensive. Oh well, not much she could do about that. Kasaru would probably have hated her reguardless anyways. She turned away and started counting her money, and and huffed as she realized she was just 5 gelics away from the healing spell. "Damn..." she cursed under her breath. She huffed and put her money away, ready to head out the door of this over expensive shop when a thought suddenly occured to her. "Wait....Sarielle!" she turned on heel to face the woman again. "What happened to that creature I followed?"

Healer

"No worries, Daine; he's in good hands," Sarielle told the young girl. "He's with Sun, in his shop. He's Sunstrike's...pet. Sort of."

Her smile was nervous and showed far too many teeth. She was hiding something, but wouldn't say more.

"If you're a bit short this time, you can always come back," she continued. "There will be other opportunities to earn shinies, I'm certain!"
Daine's eyes narrowed, why was she lying? what was she hiding? "Hmmm, tell me Sarielle, what type of pet is it?" she asked, drumming her fingers on her forarm, waiting for the answer.
Kasaru paused briefly and a smirk flashed across his lips - why must all women lie? Was it all they were made for; even the tone of her voice gave her away and after a few moments he spun round, examining the scrolls once more before he extracted the fire spell - well he did need to add to his library and considering his recent failure, he was taking no chance; magic could be a terribly dangerous art.

"I'll take this one," He murmured after a few moments, extracting the correct number of coins - which on later eflection on left him with a total of 31 demos from his pouch. It was then and only then that he chuckled and set both gold and money down, "Building up my library is of a great necessity to me," He added and shook his head as he slid his gold pouch beneath his robes once more.

Although he was well versed in the art, he was considering the important factor of knowledge being part of the equation, not only that...but having such things on his person would allow him to develop them and his skills into much stronger bouts of magic - regardless of what he had thought previously, he would benefit from this.

Nevertheless - he would leave Daine to prod at Sarielle in regards to Sunstrike's pet.
