As of 11-10-07 Golden and Grey is now the new owner. <3 Look forward to some changes and activity.

Shop will be revamped, concept will be tweaked and be ready for a new shop and new staff!

June 11th, 2006 - "I have discussed it with Chickies and she will be taking over the shop for awhile. XD More like a co-owner ship of sorts. Mainly because I've been a little burnt out on these guys. D: No idea how to really sturr up interest so maybe a new face will help.

Next weekend will be the custom auction for the last gen 1. Chickies will do the breeding raffle though I will still color them in the end. She's just going to do the part I hate. XD

These are direct words from Ballie, folks (this is Chickies on the mule). In light of this new information, as mentioned before, I will be running a raffle for all adults whom are interested in breeding. More than likely the cost will either be free or 1,000 gold per ticket. If free, it will be one ticket per couple. If I steer the way of 1,000 gold per ticket, you will be able to purchase up to a certain amount of tickets. Please, suggest!

Anyways, ladies and gents, if you don't have an adult Nalgae, or don't own one at all, don't fret! I'm considering holding a beach party event of some sorts, but it might take some time, so hold on to your panties, and keep the ol' eyes peeled for new updates. And like I aforementioned, if you have any suggestions to anything, just go ahead and post them! I hope to get some activity in the thread and some new faces around here.

Nalgae is a lush, green island paradise around 10 or 20 miles off the coast of Gaia, which makes it a favorite vacation spot. All around the thick forests are the cleanest beaches one could ever see with sand as soft and fine as... something that is soft and fine (XDD). Crystal clear waters surround the island, home to many things: sealife, plant-life, and maybe even a mermaid or two.. ninja

Here are some of the highlights of Nalgae Island:

    The Ocean: Through the crystal clear waters, one can see almost everything that goes on beneath the waves. Colorful schools of tropical fish swim by in peaceful harmony and coral reefs are abundant which makes this spot a perfect place to go scuba diving. Glass bottom boat tours are given daily by the locals and some have even claimed to see a mermaid! Or was it just the sun reflecting across the waters..

    The Beaches: The soft creamy color is pleasant to the eyes. Along the beach, one could find the abandoned sea shell or the rare sand dollar among the grains. From time to time a coconut was even found near the line of palm trees. The sand is amazingly soft and fine and it does not scald your feet when you walk across it.

    The Coconuts: On this island, coconuts are more than just a fruit. Inside are the spirits of the island, the people of the island finding a way to draw that spirit out with the offering of a lime. These spirits appear in the form of a small creature now known as the Nalgae - named after the island of course. There is a coconut grove, somewhere on the island, where all of the Nalgae were said to have lived a long, long time ago. It was there that their ashes were integrated into the sand and coconut trees grew at every epicenter. It is here that you may find a coconut enchanted with the Island's Spirit.

    Jing Lake: Jing Lake is, by far, the most mystical part of the island. It's waters are clear yet, when you look down to the bottom of the lake, you see nothing. Local lore and fable says that a great creature lives at the bottom of the lake and that it's magic has shrouded the bottom of the lake. And though it lies at the base of a waterfall, the waters lay undisturbed for many years until the first awakening of a Nalgae. Witnesses report a stirring in the lake around the same time the first Nalgae had been brought into our world. Two shining blue eyes opened for the first time in many a millenia.

    To the locals, Jing Lake is seen as untouchable and no men or women would dare ever approach the lake without a very good reason. Although, every year, a festival is held at the top of the waterfall and a single person is chosen to drop an item of great meaning into the lake; the item is never seen again. The person gets to make one wish and with the right amount of faith, that wish will come true. This is a great privilege and contests are held weeks in advance to be that lucky individual.

    Island Inhabitants: The inhabitants of the Island are called Caspias. These men and women were once Gaian individuals but after many years, they have evolved into people with dark skin, green hair, and gold accessories. They are a hospitable people and are at peace with the nature that surrounds them. They have no leader, and get all their direction from the sea. They have appointed "Sea-Readers" to tell of what the ocean wants them to do and they take everything related with the Mother Sea importantly/

    Mermaids?: What's this doing here? Well, since you asked. Legend tells of a certain Caspia who made an offering to the Mother Sea to let him stay with her forever. That night, he disappeared and was never seen on the island again. Although, some Caspias claim to hear his voice or his laugh while sailing and osme have even claimed to see him swimming! But right when they start to believe what their eyes are telling them, all that is left is a flick of a tail and a shimmer of scales.

    Castle in the Sky?: Okay, you seriously must need some rest.. You're delusional.

Born from coconuts, the spirits of the island, the Nalgae, are yours to keep. But are you deserving of one?

*note: "waiting period" at the bottom of the descriptions denotes how long you must wait before requesting a growth for your nalgae. so, if you've waited the time noted you may post in your colorist's growth request thread that you are ready for your Nalgae to grow. for now, this only applies to Golden.

    stage o1 [the coconut];;
    the coconut is the first stage in the life of a nalgae. why do you receive your nalgae in the form of a coconut? scroll up to the story post to learn more about that. anyways, you've received your coconut whether it fell on your head or you received one from a Caspia. when you shake it, instead of hearing all the glorious milk inside sloshing around, you hear... nothing. the caspias tell you that it's a "special coconut" and that you should give thanks by cutting it open and putting a lime in it. you decide to go along with it...

    stage o2 [the infant];;
    your coconut has disintegrated and after all the smoke and special effects, you're left with this thing; a baby nalgae to be precise. the Caspias explain about the sacredness of being an owner of a Nalgae and welcome you as an honorary Caspia. you're amazed at the cuteness and oddness a baby nalgae holds and then it opens it's mouth and everything comes crashing down. nalgae can speak our language fluently and have a language of their own that they only use when conversing with another nalgae. baby nalgae have the mindset and vocabulary of an 8-12 year old human. curiosity is abound and your nalgae asks you questions about everything @o@. they can also hover in the air for a couple seconds before they have to land on something, most often it will be your head, shoulder, or someone else's shoulder.. oops XD

    stage o3 [the adult];;
    somehow, your nalgae has grown up. well, not really since at most, they probably grew a few inches but they grew in mind too! now they have a mindset of a 14-21 year old human.. oh wait, that sucks. that means dirty jokes and mind-in-the-gutter questions will be flying and snickers whenever you mention the planet "uranus". but some of you might be lucky enough to have a mature nalgae, but you have to be really lucky. they can now fly for prolonged periods of time and have access to some secrets of the island.

    stage o4 [the elder];;
    *note: all of the owners of the old shop automatically have their nalgae receive an elder stage since, at the time, it was promised to them as a regular stage.
    your nalgae has caught the attention of something special and has received a quest of wisdom. if they complete the quest, they become an elder! not much else is known about this process at the moment.

Familiars are animals in the forest that your Nalgae has formed a bond with. Familiars and Nalgae have a telepathic mind link that lets them talk through their thoughts (and even read each other's thoughts). Familiars also give your Nalgae certain abilities that are attributed to the familiar.


Types of Familiars
    crane;; a crane is a familiar that can soar with your nalgae and can give them knowledge of the skies, including extended flight, wind manipulation, and the ability to read the stars.

    giraffe;; a giraffe is an ideal familiar, patient, offers wisdom, and shows compassion to all things. abilities given are limb manipulation (stretchy limbs but only to a certain point) and botanical mastery (knowledge of plants and herbs and herbal remedies)

    kitten;; sneaky, quiet, always hiding in the shadows, a kitten is a great friend for a nalgae who likes to creep in darkness.. or likes to take cat naps. kittens teach quietness of feet, skills that shroud the body, and ways to incapacitate an animal or human with your bare hands. so basically assassain skills. assassain kitties ftw.

    thylacine;; thylacines are natural born hunters. they prowl through the jungle looking for a quick meal and once they find it, mercy is something that definitely won't be shown. skills learned are ways to stab and jab your way into a victory in a fight, and some sharp teeth have also been reported

    lemur;; lemurs fly through the trees with the greatest of ease and can climb trees that touch the sky. your nalgae can learn skills in acrobatics and will develop an unnaturally perfect sense of balance.

    sheep;; sheep are fluffy, innocent little creatures with hearts of gold. surprisingly, sheep teach their nalgae the ability to grow a wool coat and can sing a song that puts every living thing within eyesight to sleep.
