Today I got a strange package in the mail, or at least, I got the remnants. Korist found it shoved in the box, with no return address, and promptly tore it open, blinking in disappointment to find... A broken pair of glasses. Seeing as it was nothing too interesting, he brought it to me.

I'm not sure what exactly to do with them, but... Stranger things have happened, and I'm starting to realize that just because something looks like one thing, doesn't mean it is that thing. Who knows what these glasses really are?

As of now, I'm keeping them safe, stored in a small box of keepsakes on a shelf above my work desk in the study.

I'm in loads o' s**t right now. Y'see, I'm grounded to my room for a while, can't play with my 'blades no more neither. Ma caught me, 'n Auntie Indu is real upset. Ell's in loads o' s**t too. S'my fault, though, so I owe 'im one.

Y'see, Auntie Indu keeps all this random junk in an ol' cigar box top o' her computer desk, an' sometimes there's cool stuff in there. S'too high up to reach on my own, an' none o' the girls'll help since they're warrin' with us, so I hadta get Ellic's help. He 'n I don't always get along, but we got each other's backs, y'see?

Anyways, there wasn't much in there, but I refound those broke up ol' glasses from weeks ago an' decided we could have some fun widdem. So I took 'em out, an' me 'n Ell played round widdem, tryin' 'em on 'n such. After that we went and played outside, watched the tube, got in a fight with some o' the girlies, and ate some food.

Auntie Indu always gets home kinda late, an' when she did, I guess she checked 'er box 'n found the specs missin'. Prollem is, I dunno what we did widdem...

I'm keeping the glasses in my bedroom, now that I've finally gotten them back. It was Sjajan who found them, naturally, wandering in from the back yard covered in mud, with a bouquet of flowers in her hand and the broken things on her face. It happened to be rather adorable, but I took them from her and made her take a bath, putting the flowers in a vase for the table.

Afterwards, we lectured Ellic and Korist soundly, we being Themis, Kumari, and myself. Those boys have got to learn not to touch things that aren't their's. Not that the glasses are mine.... Still... I feel much better now that they're back.

I was examining those glasses again, I don't know why. I do it when I get bored, like I used to do with my ring, which strangely, became a guardian angel. Will these glasses become something too? I wonder how they came to be so broken and bent, and I wonder why they came to me. Who delivered them, and why? Why can't I toss them out? I suppose it's because I'm a packrat of sorts, but maybe it's because there's... Maybe there's more to them than I see. I can't get rid of them, not until I solve the mystery.

It looks like Enki is finally ready to emerge from those old glasses! The glasses keep appearing in places other than their usual keeping place, always near a door or a window as if they're trying to get out of the house. Clearly, it wants to go somewhere (or someone's just being mischievious...), but where? Find something in the the mansion that corresponds with the glasses. This could be anywhere in the house's currently open rooms (which include the parlor, the kitchen, and the study on the first floor, the staircases, the attic, and the library that connects to the back of the attic).

Ellic snorted at Korist's mimicing of Indu and shrugged in response. The two boys had been kicked out of the house when Indu'd found the glasses missing from their spot again. Only this time, the boys couldn't remember borrowing them. Still, they had to find them, didn't they? If they couldn't, Korist planned on simply buying some and busting them up a bit.

In the meantime, they planned on enjoying their time away from the house.

As they strolled down the street, Ellic blinked at a mansion and frowned.

"I do not remember that being there before..."

Korist squinted at it before widening his eyes with interest and grinning at his adoptive cousin.

"Let's check it out, eh?"

"I suppose we might as well."
