We all know the story of Jake and his Dream Walker. We all know the story about Na'vi and the Earth-like Pandoran ecosystem. Yet, what we don’t know is what happened after the humans left. What we don’t know is what happened to those who were allowed to stay and those of the Na’vi generation. This, The Reborn Tree, is a recreation of something that had happened five hundred years after Jake’s time.
For the Na’vi, life had been hard. For the Dream Walkers, life had been difficult. For the scientists, life had been filled with new creations and new studies. Now that the threat was removed, it was just survival of every day troubles. The Dream Walkers were taken to new places, to strange and exotic places. The Na’vi, who had grown used to the presence of the Dream Walkers, had long adopted them into their own family. Life was perfect, even though it took some time for the Na’vi to return to their tree.
From training Na’vi and Dreamwalkers how to fly, ride, even harvest, life seemed simple enough. There were many fun times in the life of a Dreamwalker, many new sights. Life had almost gotten into a rut after five hundred years. So much, that no one ever expected what happened next. There had been a hunting party, a small one, but why did they need a large one? The trip was only meant to take two days. After the third day, the Na’vi started to get worried. What was taking them so long? Instead of sending out another party to search for the hunting party, they expected the group of five to return.
Five days had passed with no news about the hunting party. Scouts were sent out but had returned with no news. More hunters were sent out, and still nothing. Not even a trace of where they could have gone. As the sixth day started to fade away, everyone was about ready to give up hope. That was, until one of the scouts had noticed a group of five flying towards them. Everyone began getting ready for their hunters to return. As the sun started coloring the sky, the riders landed. Silence engulfed the Na’vi. No one expected what they seen riding on the backs of the sky beasts. Five Na’vi hunters cuts on every part of their skin. It had looked as if they had gone through a meat grinder and came out alive, for they were as the closest ones noticed. Just by a thread though.
The night passed in a hurry, everyone trying to keep these hunters alive. Everyone’s mind was also busy. What had caused this? No beast could have made such neat and direct cuts, no fall could have kept them this clean. It was almost like someone had done this to them. But, who? The Dreamwalkers were-
More bodies were carried into the medical ward. The three bodies of the Dreamwalkers that had visited them this time. Something had happened to them, for it seemed as if they had fainted. Now, with eight patients to take care of, everyone was wondering what was going on. No one expected what would happen next. No one would believe that the legends of the past would once again come to haunt them.
