Welcome to the mountain village of Winteredge. It is a village in the realm of Coldholt Crags. It's a small village, a place out of the way from the beaten path, home to many races. They go about their day to day lives, not worrying about the troubles of the rest of the world. The big stories there are about people getting into a relationship, or who gets thrown out of the local tavern, or who has commissioned Nitaka Mountainfist, the local dwarven black-smith, to make something special. Needless to say, very little interesting happens in Winteredge. Until the day Nitaka adopted a young girl, about 18 years old. And considering that Nitaka is almost 355, it was an odd thing for him to do. No one knows why he did it, or if it will work out. Most importantly, all the young men in the village are hoping to woo her to try & get some of Nitakas fortune. A fact that is not lost of Nitaka, & is wary of any men who approach his adopted daughter

4. Romance is allowed, but keep it PG-13

Characters
Username:Zaydin
Name: Nitaka Mountainfist
Age: 355 (Human equivalent of 55)
Gender: Male
Race: Dwarf
Appearance: Nitaka Mountainfist
Occupation: Black-smith
Bio: Nitaka is the finest black-smith in Winteredge. Of course, since he's the ONLY black-smith there, he's that by default. But his work is finer than those that the merchants bring in when they visit from the big city a five day walk from the village. Nitaka was an adventurer in his younger days, but he has mellowed in his old age, & his main passions in life are working metals, mining them, & his adopted daughter. Nitaka, however, doesn't say much of his past, & hasn't said anything about why he adopted the young girl.
Other: Mines the metals he works with himself, but not all of it. Is good friends with the family that owns the local tavern.

Username:Rinel_underwood
Name: Ritska
Age: 17
Gender: female
Race: kitsune/fox demon
Appearance: Ritska, hair, eyes and thief clothes . Ritska, at a more approximate age.Her ears are white, with black tips, as is her tail. In human form, she stands at about five foot six. She's thin and her skin is very pale. Since coming to the mountains, she has taken to wearing a long sleeve white shirt and black pants, along with black boots, and whenever she's outside, black gloves as well.
She can change into a full fox that looks like this or a demon that looks like this, though she's only taken that form once, when she saw her parents get hung.
Occupation: ex-thief
Bio: Till she was eight, Ritska lead a pretty normal life in a crowded city. Her family ran a clothing shop in town and, at least from her eight year old point of view, they lived a good life. One day, though, she came in from playing with the other town children to find a notice on the front door, saying that the house had been foreclosed on and her parents were in jail. She didn't get it at the time, and stayed in the house for quite a while, hiding there and waiting for her parents to return. After about a week, or two, though, a group of thieves broke into the house to try and steal some things. Finding Ritska, they decided to let her join them. She instantly took to the life of thievery, using her natural abilities to become a small fox to break into many places that much more experienced thieves had a hard time with.
When she was thirteen, though, she finally found her parents.... right in the middle of one of the biggest heists her group had tried to pull off. Ritska choose trying to save her parents over the thieves guild. They ended up getting caught, her parents ended up getting hung. Ritska managed to escape... but obviously the guild didn't let her back. For almost five years, she managed to cut it on her own as a thief, but then she got caught for her third time. She was going to end up probably in a mining or labor camp somewhere, or maybe even hung... but instead Nitaka managed to cut a deal with the judge. She was exiled from the city, and adopted by Nitaka, and has now come to live with him. Ritska is almost as confused as everybody else as to why Nitaka has adopted her, but isn't complaining.
Other: She has a natural affinity for all animals, and most animals seem to like her more than other people. She can tell when they are in pain, and sometimes even ease that pain if she tries. It's a sort of magic that she has always naturally had, along with her ability to shift shapes.

Username: SkyeBaby
Name: Avvon Ephedrine
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Race: Summoner
Appearance: http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y103/FlutterbyBaby/DragonGirl-1.jpg
Occupation: Healer, potion maker, summoner, local advice nurse, impromptu midwife. Avvon is an all around helper when it’s needed.
Bio: Avvon was not born in this village, though she grew to love it the moment she arrived at the age of twelve. Avvon is the child of a normal father and a powerful summoner for a mother. She moved away at eleven, as did her mother before her. She wandered for a year before finding Winteredge, and settled there, though she built her home a bit away from the main part of the village, having been alone for a long enough time to make her value privacy. When she turned fifteen, a summoning went awry in the forest, and Avvon ended up pregnant with a half demon child growing within her. She kept it quiet, unsure of how the people of the village would react until she need to give birth and name the father. Surprisingly enough, she wasn’t thrown from the village. The child became known as Germain, and while he looked quite a bit like his mother, his eyes were most obviously his fathers, a deep dark blue that seemed to capture any who looked into them for too long. After five years, Avvon started regularly summoning her son’s father, and forcing the groaning demon into involving himself with their son. While Avvon holds no animosity towards the father of her child, her feelings for the demon are unspoken of, for no one is truly certain how to describe the relationship.
Other: Avvon still behaves a bit like a young girl, and thus often finds herself in the company of unwed girls and young mothers.

Username: Halokat
Name: Isabella Montes...Isy for short
Age: 19
Gender: female
Race: werecat
Appearance: with cat ears and tail.
when ever there is a full moon
Occupation: Gypsy/Fortune Teller
Bio: Isabella was born into a pack that shunned her after they found out about her developing gifts. The gypsy powers scared her pack that much. Right after she was shunned, she became the age of ten, which is when most werecats recieve their ears and tails. But she didn't because she didn't have a place to call home. That is until she reached the village. A kind human family took her in and raised her, but they were a little surprised when cat ears and a tail sprouted. And now she lives on her own, telling fortunes for money, or neccesities. She still visits her human family.
Other: Can see glimpses of the future, but doesn't know when the vision is going to come true, if it does.

Username: Kowsauni
Name: Mika Teloss
Age: 15
Gender: female
Race: human
Appearance: ((Filler pic for now.))
Occupation: self practicing Witch

Bio: Mika has lived with her rich and miserly grandma in Winteredge for three years. She came to live with her after her parents couldn’t afford to take care of her where they lived in the harbor city. Mika’s father fell in love with a local town girl that was a bit of a tart. Her grandmother disproved of the relationship and disowned him when he ran off and got married. Mika’s father got a job at the harbor and her Mom worked as a made. However, their combined income wasn’t enough to support them and Mika so her Grandmother took Mika away to live with her rather as a way of punishing them rather then sending them money to help. It is unclear how Mika feels about her parents but its clear she hold no dept to the old lady she hardly knows. She often sneaks out at night and will be gone for days at a time. Her grandmother has gotten senile in her old age and is often not aware to what the girl is up to even when it is going on right in front of her. Mika takes full advantage of this and pretty much runs her own life how she pleases.

Other: Mika is bit of a cocky brat and does not like being treated like the kid she is. Mika picked up witchcraft from a traveler she met in the harbor. Being home alone most of the time she had a lot of time to practice. In Winteredge she spends a lot of time, traveling around playing pranks the villagers at night as a way of practicing her craft. She is very secretive of her craft towards adults knowing the kind of reception witches usually get. However her urge to flaunt her power sometimes gets too much and she will show off in front of other kids.

As for her past, there have been many rumors, most of which revolve around her having been a mercenary of some sort. Either that, or an assassin. When asked about this, she usually gives very vague answers, not wanting to talk about it.

Username: Medusa7

He also has a shield and a smaller sword to wield with it, but he does not use these as frequently. He travels on a brown mare which has no name.
Occupation: James is a knight employed by a lord in a local fiefdom.
Bio: Extremely serious and strong willed, James was never an idealist, but he was once more optimistic than he is now. He had to struggle to obtain his knight's position, which he has held since he was 22. He aspires to own his own property one day, which has made him greedy and a social climber. His own family are all dead, save a brother in a monastery, and he is on the lookout for a wife to cement his place in his lord's fiefdom.
Other: James is passing through to reach another kingdom. He plans to stop at the blacksmith to get his horse reshod and his sword inspected.

Username: Elvendur
Name: Zerakus (Legion)
Age: Seven-Hundred Seventy-Six (776)
Gender: Male
Race: Tauren (Cow-Demon)
Appearance:
Tauren Form: Zerakus stands at thirteen (13) feet tall with a heavily coated mass of coarse hair matting his head and a beard just to the end of his chest, black with gray peppered. Two horns extending out of his skull, one broke the other whole. Shamanic runes deck his body, allowing him to stay on the mortal plane. Zerakus weighing around thirteen hundred pounds (1,300lbs) has an immensely muscular body; which is scarred from a many wars, brawls and attempted assinations. His eyes are of white lightning colour, and gleam like it in the dark; you will know when you see this monstrous beast starring back at you. His hide is a thick dark tanned colour of milk-browns.

Mortal Form
: Six foot four inches tall, Zerakus wears the hides of his previous pray, cured into a very effective form of protection. Light Gray mixed with white hair that ends just below his chin level cover his head. His skin is a shady colour of hues over a very compact muscular body. Mis movement's are incredibly more graceful than his True form, yet largely different, bringing him down to two hundred pounds (200lbs).
Occupation: Veteran Head's Hunter and Shaman (Retired)
Bio: Zerakus was a Head's Hunter since his Passing of Rites ritual at the age of sixty (60), where he began his first calling. He enjoyed his job; he had killed countless officials in hell, and earth. When he finished his three hundredth year of service, he was recognized for his magick prowess; Shamanism. He was stricken away from what he took as his calling and was brought to where the Legion ruled, and he was to fight one of the Bringers of the End to be admitted two things; Life and Power. He prevailed after the fight which lasted a decade (10yrs) and a ruined island devastated in the process. He became Legion #323 and was taught the ways of the Shaman. After two centuries (200yrs) he turned five hundred and seventy (570), and was sent to the front lines where fighting was chaotic, and the Legion was beginning their assault on the Battlefield where Hell was fighting Heaven on the plane called Midgard (Earth), the body he had could not survive there. He had to use his shaman magick to sustain himself and his True form was a much larger burden on his mentality, his sanity for he went into a Berserker's Rage if kept on the mortal plane called Midgard (Earth) in his True form much more than hours, so he had to leave or make a sacrifice. He completed a Sacrificial Ritual, shedding him of his immense bulk, spewing his self in the place the ritual had taken place, and having a new body of Lesser (Diluted Demons aka Half Demon etc). From there he fought with swiftness, but his strength and weight limit was a great hindrance; he improved his shamanism as much as he could since he had two both concentrate on sustaining his essence on the Midgard (Earth) plane, and use the magicks for combat. The fighting lasted for another two hundred years (200yrs) and he found himself stranded and forgotten by the Legion, in the middle of the angelic army. He was captured and tortured, escaped and recaptured a many times until one fateful night where he heard a calling on his seven hundredth and sixty-five birthday (771).. ..A summoning. Everything changed from that moment on.
Other: He uses two swords in his Lesser form, both are of a metal poisonous to all non-humans; it act's like a purifier; removing and stripping the assaulted one's genes of anything but those of humans, thus spreads a silver like infection, and unless cured within forty eight hours, the entity is converted to a full human (only occurs if victim is half human or more to complicate for loss of genes), or utterly destroyed, ending up as a mass of rotting flesh (if seventy percent (70%) or more of the victim is demonic).
PostPosted: Wed Aug 08, 2007 8:18 pm

Nitaka wiped sweat from his brow before resuming pounding the metal he was currently working with "Nothing like working in the shop on a winter day" he thought to himself, turning the metal in his hand, pounding away "Back into the fire with you" he said, placing the metal back into the fire "Wonder how she is doing" he said to himself, taking a swig of water

Ritska leans forward, pushing the curtain aside and curiously looking out the carriage at the surrounding wilderness. She had rarely left the city during her life, and had certainly never been this far from the city, off the main road. Glancing down, she kind of had to wonder if they were even on a road any more! It certainly didn't look it. Ritska lifts her gaze after a moment as the carriage rounds a corner, then blinks in surprise at the almost picturesque sight before her. The pathway started to descend, dropping out of sight as it ran down a hill, then into the small village before her. The village looked like something plucked from a story book. There was snow covering the ground and the roofs of the houses, many of which were small and quaint. Smoke curled its way out of many house chimneys, yet it looked much cleaner than the city. It was also much quieter. Her sharp ears could pick up the sound of children laughing and some people at work, but it wasn't anything compared to what she'd known her whole life. Ritska's ears perk forward in interest as she continues to look out the window as the horse drawn carriage makes its way down the hill and into the small town that was to be her new home.

Nitaka sighed, standing at the window to his shop "She should be arriving today" he said, glancing at a clock on the wall, before going back to work, working away at a weather-vane he was making for the tavern. Nitaka was friends with the family that owned it, & had given them a bit of a discount for the weather-vane.

After a few minutes, the carriage pulls into the town square and stops. The carriage rocks slightly as the driver hops down. Hesitantly, Ritska peaks out again, then blinks in surprise at the sight outside. It seemed like a good portion of the village was standing out there, looking at the carriage. She could hear people whispering as well.
"That her...?"
"Why did he adopt.... so old."
"I hear she... thief."
"Really? Why..."
"Must be senile."
Ritska takes a deep breath, pulling back from the window, suddenly nervous. She was a thief. It was in her nature to get antsy when people noticed her. She wasn't all that social. She liked being unnoticed.... and yet there was probably over two dozen people just standing out there, waiting to see her. Picking up her bag, she clutches it to her chest and waits. The driver said it was proper for him to open the door for her and help her out of the carriage, but right now she hoped the door would just stay shut so she could continue to hide in here where it was safe.
PostPosted: Wed Aug 08, 2007 9:42 pm

Nitaka glanced out the window & noticed the carriage outside "Best greet th' girl" he said, wiping away the sweat from his fore-head, threw on his coat, & stepped out into the square. At the sight of him, all the chatter of the villagers stopped, all eyes now focused on him.

Mystery Wolf

Clang-Clang-Clang. The only sounds that were hearable from inside a mine that was nearby the town. "Something that shines brighter than the sun itself come on." He said and with a huge bang- he struck something. "What's this..." he said picking up a gold like object from the dirt. "Gr...fools gold...well the shopkeeper always falls for it if i say it's real gold, but no one else does..." he chuckled and threw it in a bin and kept digging- another hit and FINALLY something worthwhile! "HAH! You're mine bronze." he said and threw a chunk of bronze in his special bin...well it was really a large bag more like it. "It's a pity really....the good stuff is way down there...course I found some mythril ores every now and again..." Of course Mystery dug in this mine ever since thirteen- but his teen years were almost at an end...he was hitting twenty fairly soon and he had no 'mate' as he called it. "Well...better call it a day."

With that said, Mystery took his bag of what little goods he found and climbed out of the mines. When he came in, his clothes were as white as a cloud...but when he came out, they were as dark as the night sky themselves. "First stop- the shopkeep." he said with a grin and started walking...he paused seeing a lot of villagers. "Bleh...more commotion...ever since that girl..." he grumbled...of course he immediately froze when Nitaka came into view.

Carmen was just exiting the tavern, going to bring a nice drink to Nitaka. But as she stepped outside she stopped as people were all gathered around seemingly waiting for someone to exit from the carrage that had just pulled into the village. "Hmm, this must be the young girl that Nitaka is taking care of." she said to herself as she made her way to the front of the crowd. "I wonder how old she is?" she said as she held the cup a bit tighter while moving around the few poeple in the crowd.

Hearing the noises outside the carriage stop, Ritska tenses up slightly, then glances out, seeing Nitaka approaching the carriage. A moment later, the driver stepped forward and opened the door, looking at her expectantly. Ritska takes another deep breath to steady her nerves, then gets up and steps out of the carriage, accepting the drivers offered hand as she steps down. Ritska tries to ignore the crowd and the cold, instead looking at Nitaka. Ritska fidgets slightly, her ears flicked back, wondering if she was supposed to say or do something. If she was, it wasn't coming to mind. All she could do was stand there and nervously watch him approach.
PostPosted: Wed Aug 08, 2007 10:03 pm

Mystery shook his head. He didn't want to be with the crowd...but there was only one way through them... he went through a clearing which was of course near Ritska...so he just walked past her without saying a word and shoved his way through the rest of the crowd. He had better things to do than gawk.

"Ello', child" Nitaka said, walking up to Ritska, who was about a foot or so taller than he was "Let me show ye' to your new home" he added, taking Ritskas, bags, leading her back to his shop "Your room be upstairs, Ritska" he said "And pay no mind to the others" he added "They are just desperate for news" he said "Hang your coat over on the wall over there" he added, gesturing at a row of pegs on the wall

Ritska turns her gaze to Mystery as he enters the clearing that had formed around her and the cart, then blinks in surprise as he walks right on past, not seeming to care. Well, wasn't like she blamed him, but unfortunately he seemed to be the only one still going about his business. Ritska watches him for a moment longer as he disappears into the crowd, then turns back to face Nitaka as he addresses her. Now right in front of her, she noticed how much shorter than her he was. Then again, he was a dwarf. Ritska nods silently, though almost saying something as he takes her bag, but remains quiet as she follows him back to his shop. Entering, she looks around curiously, then nods again. "I guess they would be, in such a small town as this one." She comments as she slips off her tattered black trench coat and hangs it on the wall peg, then turns back to him. "So uh... what now?" She asks.

"Ye unpack, o' course" Nitaka said "Ye' room is on the left side of the upstairs hallway; mine is the first on the left" he added "When you are done, come on down into my shop; I'm gonna teach you the art of black-smithing"
