Biography:Urahara Kisuke is manager of Urahara Shop when Kuchiki Rukia is in need of special products from the Other World aka Soul Society. Urahara seems to be a free and easy kind of guy with an unorthodox sense of fashion. He obviously takes pride in his humble shop that provides exclusive products to shinigami, like Rukia, in the human world. He caters to his customers needs even if the products are difficult to retrieve, as long as they're going to pay, of course. When Urahara discovers that Rukia was a defected product instead of the one requested, he and his crew (Tessai, Ururu, and Jin), went out to take retrieve the defected product before serious damage could be done. Also during this short incident Urahara gets to show his more gentle side as he assures Ururu that he's not mad at all and even gives her a hug. Overall from first impressions, Urahara seems to be a content, goofy, creative, yet mysterious manager. Urahara is the former captain of the 12th Division of the Gotei 13 in Soul Society. His vice-captain/lieutenant was Sarugaki Hiyori. He was originally the 3rd seated officer of the 2nd Division under Shihouin Yoruichi and headed the Supervision/Detention/?? Unit before being recommended to replace the 12th Division captain who was promoted to the Royal Guard. Not much is known about his time in Soul Society but by other shinigami's reaction to his name alone is a clear clue that Urahara was a respected shinigami. This could also mean that for the last 100 years, by word of mouth about the former captain, Urahara has left behind an intimidating impression of sorts on the younger shinigami. Urahara was also the founder and president of the Research Institute of Technology. Here Kurotsuchi Mayuri, the current 12th Division Captain, succeeded him here also. Urahara is an intelligent man and an exceptional inventor but unfortunately it was one of his inventions that led to his exile 100 years ago. Urahara created a special and dangerous gigai, an artificial body which shinigami can use in the human world. This gigai was completely undetectable. More importantly, it devoured the spiritual power of the shinigami. By using the gigai, the shinigami would would never recover their power, their coordination with the gigai diminishes and the konpaku (soul) eventually becomes powerless. Urahara also created another dangerous mechanism. This was called Hou Gyoku. Hou Gyoku is a mechanism that could transform a hollow into a shinigami and a shinigami into a hollow. Every shinigami has their limit that can't be passed but there was one way to surpass it and that was to become a hollow. Urahara knew that Hou Gyoku was dangerous, especially if the wrong person found out about it so he tried to destroy it. Unfortunately, he found no way to destroy it so he instead put a barrier around it and buried it in a konpaku to try and conceal its location. The konpaku Urahara decided to conceal the Hou Gyoku was Kuchiki Rukia. Urahara, finding Rukia after she gave her shinigami powers to Ichigo, offered her one of his gigai. The gigai just happens to be one of the special ones that eats her remaining powers.It seems that Urahara is trying to hide Rukia from Soul Society's detection since she is the carrier of his dangerous creation. Urahara seems to be content with his humble surroundings as a shop owner. He greens often and winningly. He carries a small fan which gives him a nice comical aura along with his unique clothing in an obvious modern world. Urahara's sense of humor may be a little frightening for others but it does not deter from the fact that he's a funny guy who enjoys a good laugh. Despite his casual appearance, Urahara is anything but lackadaisical. Urahara is an obvious hard worker that prefers to go all out. Two major symbols of this nature are the large underground training rooms he created; both in the living world under his shop and in under Soul Society. It's complete with a painted sky and one of them even has a healing hot spring. Like any nice, funny guy, Urahara does have a more serious side. When the situation calls for it Urahara can turn into an intimidating, cool, and blunt figure. While training Ichigo, he can be relentless and unsympathetic. Abilities: Benihime sealed form is hidden in Urahara's cane. While training Kurosaki Ichigo, Benihime is drawn from the cane and transformed. Its known abilities so far seem to be the ability to manipulate blood to create a powerful shield and it can fire an energy blast that seem similar to a cero. The former can be seen when Urahara uses Benihime to manipulate his blood to create a barrier and defend against Ichigo's attack. Bankai: Benihime's bankai form has not been revealed yet, however it is known that he created a device that allowed him to gain bankai in three days. The device is called a Tenshintai. It forcibly materialize a zanpakutou into the real world. Urahara and Ichigo are the only two to have achieved bankai this way successfully.
