User ImageIMPORTANT NEWS AND UPDATES

IMPORTANT NEWS:
4:02PM, August 25th, 2007:
I would like to say that we have a large share of passive or righteous players now, and as the SD* are not even supposed to be, but are supposed to be egoistic, I will now begin declining profiles unless you are playing what the SD stand for. Why else would the group name themselves something so superior to everyone else?
5:18AM, August 22nd, 2007:
The profiles and Reward system are not deemed required to be 110% complete, so I now cut the ribbon and say "OPEN"!
4:55PM, August 21st, 2007:
I've made a Reward System for the prize system to be turned effective, but the Reward System is not activated yet so please be patient. If you like the thread and think your not right for it, PM* me and I will discuss it further with you in private. Thanks!
4:56AM, August 21st, 2007:
Welcome! I've worked hard on this thread, and I will continue until it is perfect! I only hope you all enjoy it as much as I know I will, being the narrator and controlling several NCP's* and one character. The Gossip section is basically to find something for your characters to do. It's like a "Quest" section, or a "Mission" area if you will. They are small goals you can work to achieve to find out and solve. This is a Mystery Role-Play. People may kill another person, but use common sense and tell me first, I won't say "no" exactly, I'll simply work it into the story. Yes, I mean other players. There will be a Thread event also, for those who stay within it actively for X time will receive a reward, and if to the end of the Role-play they will receive a prize of 500-10,000gold pending on players, activity and how long they joined before the end. Welcome once more, and I hope to see you all here soon!

UPDATES:
4:05PM, August 25th, 2007:
I've corrected a error in the Important News & Updates; the updates were mixed with the news.
3:21PM, August 25th, 2007:
My Narrative posts do not follow the literacy rules. My interactive (character) posts due, and I hope you can all survive with this. I am God.
5:42PM, August 23rd, 2007:
Role-play has begun, not as active as I wished. I added the specification that the Fairmark Keep was "old and abandoned" in the History now.
12:15AM, August 23rd, 2007:
Profiles section is 100% complete, Reward Sys* is still incomplete. I have made several pictures for the thread also. All who have been accepted may post!
6:21PM, August 21st, 2007:
Reward System prize has been modified to a minimum of the donated amount.
6:02PM, August 21st, 2007:
Rules have been altered, and accepting profile setups (500g reward for adv* lit* profile skeleton).
4:54PM, August 21st, 2007:
Reward System made, not active yet.
4:49AM, August 21st, 2007:
thread is complete except for profiles.
5:56PM, August 20th, 2007:
Thread nearing completion, PM* me with suggestions and questions.
5:00PM, August 20th, 2007:
Thread created, adding required pages: DO NOT POST

HISTORY

HISTORY OF FAIRMARK:
Fairmark is a quiet town, more a village overgrown with people and livestock. Everybody knows everybody, and the minute something happens, you can bet the whole town village is gossiping about it already! There are two schools, ones from kindergarten until grade nine, the other is grade ten until graduation of college.
There are no malls, no fast food; only individually owned shops lined beside each other, and their owners running them.
People come to Fairmark for the old Twin legend; two twins destined to be the blessed or cursed wielders of power, and to be the harbingers of Death and Sacrilege. On the outskirts of Fairmark's boarders lays the old abandoned Fairmark Keep, where the prophecy of the Twins legend began hundreds of years ago.

STORY

STORY OF THE S.D. GROUP:
The S.D.'s aren't anything special, more like a group of friends who were born on the exact same date, all within the same hour of each other. They were always more than friends, more than family and more than lovers; more than anything, they were apart of each other; they thought they were sacred deities. Everyone of them were geniuses, some people even feared them when they were young, but as they grew they were recognized as helpful individuals-and devils.
They swore to never lash-out or strike another S.D. out of anger, jealousy or frustration. They never did, nor have.
Jason Waterfalls was the shy pretty-boy of the group, girls loved him, but he never accepted their love, he fell inlove when he first opened his eyes.
Waterfalls vanished in the year 2007, the week before their nineteenth birthday on January 29th. A uproar was caused, much worse yet, making the S.D. hostile, violent and angry. They thought a conspiracy is occurring against them. They vowed to find out what really happened that fateful night, or did he really just leave everyone and everything behind?

It's been two years since Jason Waterfalls vanished, the S.D. are closer than ever to each other and the village is now becoming old barren and dull. They plan on beginning their search for Waterfalls again, starting in the U.K., then America and back to Europe.
They leave in two weeks to find their missing.

GAIA USERNAME... Elvendur
MY NAME IS... Jason Arthur Waterfalls
I LOOK LOOK LIKE... A fair skinned adolescent with a superb sense of humour. People who need a "pick me up" come find me always smiling and a firm gentle hand to support them. Girl's say I have dreamy hawk-like eyes that gleam in the sunlight with delicate plucked-looking eyebrows hidden under low dusty blond brows and a small pony-tail at the nap of my neck. I have two moles going downward underneath my right eye. I have a nose leading to the bold side, but it doesn't unbalance my face. Sadly, my body type is not of superior quality, but I wouldn't call myself skinny, my muscles are simply slow in developing. I stand at six feet with around a hundred and fifty pounds and I am left handed.
SOME HABITS OF MINE... I listen to people like I'm their second conscience, revealing and disclosing everything with me. I fiddle with my earlobe when I become deep in thought, and whistle a tune I don't know where it came from- must be from the legendary Twins! Haha -but I whistle it nonetheless whenever I fantasize over a women or admire one.
I'M DIFFERENT BUT... People feel lighter of heart around me, I simply make a smile appear out of nowhere, and you can bet I'll be the first to join in another SD prank! (only if it's not dangerous, then I'll do my best to coax and urge the gang out of it, or lessen the trouble caused). My cheeks are well muscled from the smile I always carry, and I simply enjoy a good night out at the ol' Fairmark Keep with the rest of the SD (we hang there a lot despite the haunting rumours).
MY PAST WAS... S.D., they were my entire life. Without the rest of the lil' Einstein's, I'd be lonely. We keep each other sane, and our little endeavour when we were young and careless, those were bad days, good times. We always got caught, and I still can't figure out ]how that always happened.. My first memory is the sight of my beloved, the girl who my eyes first saw in the hospital. She's always plaguing my dreams with her scent, and she still makes me feel the butterflies I thought were simply lust, but they are of love, that I know now.

MY NAME IS... Salem Marie Gelsinger
I LOOK LOOK LIKE... A shorter, cuter version of Angelina Jolie. My hair is onyx colored, curlier, and comes down to my waist. My eyes are pretty near the same color as my hair, and are deep, almost bottomless some have said. I'm not the skinniest girl in town, but I'm far from the biggest. I've got muscles from running around with the guys, and my abs happen to be what I pride myself on.
SOME HABITS OF MINE... Include; cracking my knuckles when I'm bored or nervous, overdoing things to the point of ruining them (most often applies to fixing things.), and jinxing things.
I'M DIFFERENT BUT... In my oppinion (and I may be biased) I'm a very good judge of character. I don't normally associate with people who give off a bad vibe, and sometimes I'm thrown into a room full of them. I'm very nice and sociable when I'm with friends, however, and make new friends easier when I'm around my old ones. I'm quiet mostly, but I can get loud when need be. I also have a rather hot temper, but I try my best to keep it in check 'cause anger is a person's greatest weakness.
MY PAST WAS... I've had a happy life, and have always been close to my family. My friends are my lifeline though, and without any one of them I feel as if I might lose all sanity.

GAIA USERNAME... SkyeBaby
MY NAME IS... Katie Joan Sterling
I LOOK LOOK LIKE... A tall and slender redhead with deep green eyes. I stand roughly around five foot six, though it’s been roughly two years since I was last measured, so I might have grown a half an inch. As a youth, I had been gangly, with a body that had grown without grace, but now my body has filled out in all of the right places, giving my body a long sensual curve that when used correctly can be quite alluring. I naturally have a fast metabolism, but I enjoy running, dancing and various forms of fighting that keep my body in properly tuned shape in their combined effort. Most of my features are very feminine, and I’m fairly proud of it, though I tend not to let it go to my head, my ears are pierced in a total of five places, and my left eyebrow has a small metal loop around it. I also have a few tattoos, though all are fairly recently acquired; a large feline with jet engines sprouting from it’s back on my left hip bone, the one my right ankle is a swirled sort of mix of tribal and Celtic pattern that adorns nearly the entire foot and a small I treble clef in flames on my right inner wrist. I adore my peircings and body art, and ignore what other people think of them.
SOME HABITS OF MINE... I tend not to pay too much heed to what other people say if I am set in my ways. I bite my nails to trim them, for I never truly take the time to make them look overly nice. I daydream when alone, leaving my mind and soul open and vulnerable only completely then. When I become irritated I bite my lower lip, the more irritated, the harder my jaw clenches.
I'M DIFFERENT BUT... I’m easy to get along with, when I’m in the mood for it or if I find you useful. I’m all for the most dangerous or crazy pranks or actions, often I end up suggesting them and being talked out of it, but I put forth that effort. I tend to enjoy the kind of prank that scares everyone around me outside of the SD, it’s so funny how easily people turn so animalistic in their herd mentality! I don’t often like new people, and tend to judge based on appearances, though it is possible to redeem yourself from my blatant prejudice. I also have been told I have a bit of a temper, though I don’t know what the SD and neighbors are talking about, I don’t have any friggen temper, they just are all too ******** sensitive! Honestly, like getting into a couple of silly fights that hospitalize your attacker makes you a raging vicious person and means you have a temper. It’s not like I get mad about EVERYTHING, just everything that matters.
MY PAST WAS... I don’t get along too well with my parents, no matter the occasion, we just seem to clash constantly. Because of this I have always replaced my parents with the SD, my only true family, people who can listen to me and not draw blanks on my words. I’ve hated set establishments since childhood, religion, school, society, government, all of it. Yes it does have its purposes and some are beneficial, but in all honesty, it’s control of the masses and I hate it. I love my siblings, and enjoy the many conversations and things we’ve done. Perhaps my favorite one was when we were twelve and managed to convince the local fire department that our school was indeed on fire, though there was only smoke to speak of. Truly a masterpiece in pranking.

color=black]GAIA USERNAME... Creator of Destruction
MY NAME IS... Kale
I LOOK LOOK LIKE... a perfectly average, utterly normal teenager. I don’t look like someone who’d help the SD with their pranks, and I don’t look like an atheist whose mother decided she was a “child of nature” and ran off to Bolivia or something like that. In fact, most people have trouble remembering who I am; but not the SD. They don’t forget me, or ignore me like my mourning father who can’t get over the fact that his wife ditched him. Around them, my mouse-brown hair, plain brown eyes, and nondescript features are never forgotten. All five feet and eight inches of me, all 165 pounds, actually has a name that doesn’t start with, “Who?”
SOME HABITS OF MINE... I’m an alcoholic. Just kidding. Actually, my habit is pretty boring: I take pictures. I suppose that’s really more of a hobby than a habit, but for me it’s this compulsive urge to capture everything I see on film, and it’s pretty rare to catch me without my camera around my neck, or shoved into a pocket.
I'M DIFFERENT BUT... all in all, I’m basically the perfect kid (aside from the misdeeds with the SD that my father is thus far unaware of). I get good grades, I’m quiet around the house, and if my dad didn’t need someone taking care of him almost 24/7, I’d probably have a steady job too. I’ve never been in trouble in school or anything, and tend to keep my nose out of any real trouble. I’m good because I want to be noticed, but it seems like all it does is make me more of a background prop in this boring town’s perpetual play.
MY PAST WAS... boring. Uneventful. Other than my mom’s sudden departure, things have always been pretty quiet around the house. My dad watches TV all day, and I try to be out of the house whenever possible, though the fact that I’m practically dad’s sick nurse makes that difficult. We used to go to church, but I don’t think anyone in my family ever really believed those sermons. It was just the only time we spent together as a family. The only thing I remember now was that when I was about nine, after my mom had left and we only continued to go because dad had the vain hope that she’d return for us, the youth pastor told everyone to recommit themselves to Jesus. It got to me, and I said that I wouldn’t believe in a god who would make parents leave their children, and then condemn that parent. It was the last time I set foot in a church.

The shops lining Merchants Row, the only street which held goods from stores rather than cart stands, had it's first occupant in the fresh air and dewy leaves of the morning, Mr Franklin, the hermit. He usually stayed away from people, so he shopped right before dusk, when the common stores closed.
Blast you, Franklin! He cursed himself for his trek down to the town, making the possible encounter possible. "Stupid b***h!" He scowled at his best worn-through-the-toe black leather boots while thinking of what Bella, his dog, had done to his boots. A women, shocked, jumped back from nearly being ran over by the fanatic walking hermit.
"Oh! How rude!" Miss Picklestein, the nurse for Fairmark College remarked in an aghast voice, assuming the remark to was directed at her. She pulled her hand knitted cowl close around her to keep the morning chill out of her aged skin and weary bones. The deep worry lines marred her forehead and the freckles of age dotted her cheeks and nose, her gray hair in a tight bun behind her head.

The rooster cockle-doodle-do'ed into one of the sleeping Sacred Deities ear's, then that rooster was accompanied by a chorus of four other roosters on high webby beams above their sleeping heads, sending a loud wakeup call. The sun's rays just cresting the sill of the empty stone window of Fairmark Keep, the smell of mold and alcohol mixed intoxicatedly throughout the air, giving the first breath of the morning a sour-stale taste not to be desired.
Several of the "Normies", as the S.D.'s put it, left before anyone else could wake. They didn't want to be known associates with the Sacred Deity; it meant trouble if caught. Everyone knew this, the S.D.'s themselves knew, so they used it and played mind games with it also.

The "Treasure Hunt" was a complete failure. Not even a chocolate easter egg to be found. Several didn't expect anything, but a few thought it possible, after all, Franklin pretended to be quite poor, but the gang had done a background check on Mr Franklin, who just happened to have a unused total of nineteen thousand dollars, which was not in his bank account- they hacked the Swedish bank account he had, and it was empty.
The night turned from the hunt into a almost festive Pirate-Dress-up Party, nearly all the gang decided to attend, but some declined because of personal reasons.

The town slowly begins to fill by the time the tower's clock dongs, announcing the days beginning at seven o'clock am. The farmers went about their herds, the teachers were meeting at their respective schools for a Sunday Study session and the Town Hall was repairing for a meeting at ten o'clock. The overcast morning clouds were beginning to blow away, admitting more than mere showering shards of the sun.

Salem sighed, being an S.D. was like being a popular kid, with a few more perks, and way more possible downsides. Her parents had always told her not to worry about it, and to just live life with a straight back and a high chin, but she did often worry about what kind of rocks that high chin might miss, and so had opted to keep it, not down, but at a less than level, er, level.

She rolled over on her back and looked at the ceiling, not quite ready to close her eyes after the dream she'd just had. The roosters, having just ceased their annoying crow, were now pecking on the window and staring vaguely at her as if it were she that was responsible for their feed. Pulling the covers over her head she opted to try and get just five more minutes of shut eye before getting ready for the day...however that was going to turn out...

Though that five minutes was supposed to offer her peace and quiet, her mind kept whirling with different possibilities as to the meaning of her dream. She had pulled the blanket over her head to block out the rising sun, but her eyes remained open, staring at the coverlet as if it could offer her an answer.

Ten minutes later she was up and washing her face in a little freshwater crik, staring at her reflection in the water and wondering if anything in that picture before her would give her an answer. She soon decided to give up on trying to find meaning in the creepy dream and began to let the memory of it slip from her mind.

Katie groaned as the early morning sounds of her mother and father bustling around in the level below boomed up through her door. It was sunday, she groggily recalled, so her parents would be attending church like the vast majority of the town. Of course, Katie had stopped going completely at eleven, and her parents left her alone for the most part on this particular day.

The twenty-one year old turned over in her bed, green eyes glaring accusingly at her alarm-clock, whose LCD lights read that it was far too early for her to have even considered wakefulness, let alone getting up out of bed to spend time with the people who had birthed her and then became obsolete.

Sighing, and thinking to herself of all the other things she could do that would be more beneficial of her time, Katie rose from the bed, throwing the black coverlet back over the sheets and blue pillows before heading downstairs grudgingly, running her fingers through her dark red hair. She entered the kitchen, where her father sat at the small table, drinking some coffee and reading the local paper. His large hand was pressing at the bottom of his chin and mumbling to himself, greying eyebrows pressed together showing that he was deep within thought.

Katie entered completely without a word and strode to the cabinets where she extracted a box of cereal and a blue ceramic bowl. After grabbing the rest of the essentials to make a speedy yet filling morning meal, Katie sat at the island in the center of the kitchen and prepared her breakfast. Mr. Sterling looked up from his paper, blue eyes looking at her cautiously, though he said nothing. Katie chose to ignore him and started on her cereal. As Katie ate, her mother's voice wafted in from the main dining room.

"-I honestly wish we could have convinced Katie to-" Her mother stopped, looking at Katie with identical green eyes as Katie herself possessed. The older woman sighed, looking away from her daughter and shook her head as she made her way to the coffee machine to get her own cup of java. "Would you like one too, dear?" She said, looking over her shoulder at Katie, who nodded without speaking and returned to her cereal, allowing her mother to pour and 'doctor' the coffee before setting in-front of her. Katie continued to eat for a few moments before drinking the warmed liquid.

A terrifying scream echoed throughout the village, falling deaf to those still in Fairmark Keep.
The sound of a women more than mere frightened voiced her protest to the village of her horror from the back of a commonly used alley way behind Merchants Row that lead to the Church one more street over. Silence followed, amany of the folk looking at each other, some venturing closer to the source at a crawl, and some others at a run.
"What-"
"Who was tha-"
"Someone get help-"

The streets of barely eight-hundred, nearly equaling the full population of the village began talking, shouting until a single pistol was fired. Silence followed.. "I said QUIET!" The chief, Mister Jacob Hoffle shouted in a hoarse roar. "Head to your shops, homes and deal with your daily business, the department is investigating." With that murmurs began as the large mob slowly backed away and disbursed at the sight of three other officers holding their batons at ready if necessary.
Four other, the only other officers, were at the scene of the problem waiting the chief. "Sir.." Roger said, the first officer to the scene said in a coarse and unusual fashion for his youthful self. He tried to continue, but his voice fell mute.
What in God blazes happened? Mister Jacob brushed his gray beard with one hand while resting his free hand- like the others -on their pistols. My God..

The scent of rose petals gently drifted through the alley as a figure leaves the shadows and confinement of the undesired occupants carrying a sack containing something large over one shoulder.

In spite of the fact that Kale had gotten out of bed several hours ago, leaving the house with only a short goodbye to his father (whom he had brought breakfast since it seemed the man could no longer cook for himself) it was the scream that truly woke him up.
Life in Fairmark was, for Kale, exactly the way he was: forgettable. Dull, unexciting, and generally a waste of time, his days in Fairmark were the first memories Kale wanted to lose when he finally left this god-fearing, god-forsaken town. He dreamt a lot, when he slept, about flying somewhere else, some place that was foreign and exotic and brimming with thrills and new sights. In short, a place that was the perfect opposite of Fairmark.
Perhaps Bolivia, he mused scornfully. His mother's flower-child ways had been one of the only two interesting things Fairmark. Despite his bitterness toward her for leaving him and causing his father to fall apart so completely, he had to admit that his mother was a beautiful person. There had simply been this aura about her, the sort of ethereal essence that just drew people to her. Child of nature that she was, she hated being tied down in such a gossipy, controlled town, and so she had run off to South America to explore new ways of life.
But there was one thing about Fairmark that allowed Kale to while away the hours in a mood that he honestly felt he could refer to as happiness: the Sacred Deities. The name itself was definitely presumptious, if anyone in the village had a right to be self assuming, it was the SD. They were, perhaps, the only freethinkers in the entire place, and the only people who (at least to Kale) deserved the life they were given. After all, what was the rest of Fairmark going to do with their lives? Zip. Nada. Zilch. They would remain there for eternity, until they birthed a few equally pathetic children and died. Their kids would continue the tradition, and so on and so on add infinitum.
So it was as he was considering this boredom, wandering along Fairmark's street for no other reason than to be away from the home, that he heard the scream.
It pierced his little soundproof bubble of thought as effectively as it pierced the lives of everyone else in Fairmark. Kale's head snapped up, as did the heads of everyone around him, all of whom began making their way toward the noise. Fairmark being as small as it was, it didn't take long for the crowd to reach its destination.
Kale pulled his camera from his pocket. Click. An image of the gathered crowd appeared in the digital's display window.
There was a gunshot, followed by Chief Hoffle's voice and another soft click. Now the chief was shown on the camera, gun raised straight up in the air and mouth open as though he was in the midst of a speech.
Kale pocketed his camera once more as the crowd dissipated, but he didn't leave with the rest of them. Let the foolish masses allow themselves to be scared away from this excitement; Kale wanted to know what had happened.

It had taken far too long for Mr. and Mrs. Sterling to head off to church, and Katie was in no mood to wait for them to leave before she did so herself. After finishing her breakfast and dumping the remains down the sink, the red head danced back upstairs to put on some less, attention giving garments. Katie pulled on a pair of worn down jeans, with its many holes and ragged patches, squeezed into a green tee-shirt that had a happy little cow dancing with a jug of milk in a white line art fashion, lugged on her socks and sneakers, and headed out the door while yanking her hair up into a messy bun so she wouldn't need to brush it.

As she passed her parents who had still yet to leave, Katie waved jovially at them, though she didn't waste her time in gazing at them or speaking, just a flick of the wrist and a waggle of fingers would suffice. She didn't look back to see their expressions, though it was not necessary to know what their faces would convey. Her mother would be staring, mouth slightly ajar at the carefree dismissal. Her green eyes would betray the dumbfounded expression with a fury no other woman Katie knew could match, well, besides herself and the other ladies of the S.D. The aging hands would be clenching in her finely pressed dress, until the anger would show visibly through the mad shaking of her fists. Her mother would say nothing, nor would she bang around the kitchen in a rage. The aging woman would content herself by getting a more serene revenge later on, though that had ceased happening once Katie turned nine, and was able to get around all her mothers silly punishments.

Katie's father would glance up, his blue eyes showing no more concern for her then he would show for a used disposable coffee mug. He had learned it did no good to try and punish her, she was an adult for one, and an S.D. for another. He would simply have to content himself with the thought that if Katie ever got caught he wouldn't bail her out of prison, not like Katie could be caught. She smirked as she waltzed out the front door, though she took more then ten steps from their street when a shriek ripped through the air.

Surprised, and quite curious, Katie made her way in the direction of the noise. She was able to hear the gunshot before she saw Chief Hoffle with his hand in the air. People quickly dispersed and Katie pushed forward, caught up in the curiosity that often killed the cat. The tall red head reached the group that was left and looked around, smiling as she caught sight of Kale near the front.

Katie pushed her way up through what was left of the citizens and placed a pale hand on her fellow's left shoulder. "Any idea of what happened yet?" She asked, leaning up slightly to speak softly into his ear.

Only a few minutes had passed, but Kale was still surprised that no one had shooed him away from what he was certain was some sort of brutal crime scene by now. After all, surely Fairmark's finest would be eager to keep news of a ghastly act of delinquincy away from the ears of the village's citizens. Word of a scandal would be quick to spread in this tiny town, and he was certain that the last thing the police wanted was for the actual events of this crime to twisted and stretched, as gossip often did to truth.
Not that he cared. This meant he could stick around and watch the proceedings, though there were none to be spoken of as of yet. It also meant that whatever was inside was important enough (or depraved enough) to keep the coppers fully occupied and wrapped up in the case.
Kale thought for a moment. Could he get inside? Of course he could, what kind of question was that? The real inquiry here was as to whether or not he should. Kale had never been one to regard the law highly, especially in Fairmark where most of the officers were bunglers who had failed to be transferred to bigger cities early in their careers. Nevertheless, there weren't many places to hide and getting caught at the scene of the crime, especially one that had so many hints at the atrocious already plaguing it, was likely to land him in a not so cushy jail cell.
He was still trying to make up his mind when he felt a hand on his shoulder. He turned to see Katie smiling at him.

"Any idea of what happened yet?"
He shook his head. "Not yet. But it's definitely a shocker. The fact that they're too distracted to force me away from the crime scene is proof enough." He glanced back toward a group of officers bustling about and looking harried. "Here," he said, grabbing his camera. He put his arm around Katie's shoulders and spun them both around, holding the camera before him with one hand.
Click.
He checked the image, and smiled. "To commemmerate the fact that we were the first of the SD to show up at what might just make Fairmark history," he said gleefully.
