-Kalisha 676 A.D. (i.e. Now)-

Astologists discovered the far off planet of Kalisha in the early 4000's, and three hundred and seventy six years later, humans began to populate the small planet in hopes of creating a new home-world. Soon after though, they found out that the peaceful little planet wasn't all they had hoped.

While the equipment of the humans was far advanced and they had been watching the planet for neigh on 400 hundred years, they missed one very important thing: The Cycles.

For every 65 days of peace, there are 130 days of chaos, wherein the people of the planet cannot go outside and sometimes cannot even be above ground level because of the intense and unpredictable cycles the planet goes through. In fact, the only thing they know about these cycles is the timeline in which they happen. they could not leave the planet because the fuel given to them to make the trip was expired, and no extra fuel was given for a pssible return trip. So, 4000 people were left to try to make things work on the near inhabitable planet, and for nearly 300 years, they have.

-Plot-

While during most years the 65-130 day ratio stays the same, evey three years there is what the people have termed a "Quiet Year" in which 300 of the 390 days is peaceful. During this time, the people can go about their daily business on the surface without fear of a cycle changing.

It is near the end of the last chaotic cycle, a cycle in which there is a constant 'rain' of poisonous blue algae falling from the sky. There are ten more days until the algae stops falling and dies off. Once this happens, the people will begin moving back to the surface to form temporary homes around the large holds they congregate in during cycles.

Also, the people will soon hold their tri-annual markets and trading festivals, as well as travelling to the other holds to visit, or to permanently move.

As you may guess, no wars have ever been held on Kalisha, simply because time and resources are valuble if the people want to thrive on the planet they now call "Home".

---

Our characters will meet at the largest hold, Korrin, at a large festival. Many travel to this festival, and it has become the largest one in the entire populated world.

There are merchants, singers, dancers, actors and many who just come to see the festivities. There is no cost to this, as there has never been a government to create a currency. The people rule themselves, following whichever leader they so chose.

Usually the holds are controlled by a few people or a council who make decisions based on what the people want. Very rarely you can find a small hold in which one or two people are the sole operators of it all.

-Rules-

As I only have a few rules, I expect them to be adhered to as strictly as possible.

+PM profiles.
+PM applications for premades as "Kalisha- Premade_______" and the name of the person you wish to have.
+Literacy is a must. 3-5 sentences is my minimum. That means at least a paragraph. Special exceptions will be made for low-info posts.
+FOLLOW ALL ToS AND GUILD RULES! This is my most important rule. If you are caught breaking ToS or guild rules, you will be reported and I will shut down the whole RP. You don't want to piss everyone else off do you? Good. Don't let me catch you breakin this rule.

-Pre-Mades-

Played By: Roses Are Overrated
Name: Rhianna Joe Walsh (Joe)
Age: 24
Gender: Female
Personality: Very fun loving and carefree, she is often naive and can't stand it when she is told she can't do something. Her parents died when she and her brother were around 15 years old. They both somehow ended up in one of the traveling entertainment corps known as the Foxtrots. Ever since she has become the type of girl who makes friends easily and loves to take risks and live life to the fullest while she can. Has a small attitude but only when someone is rude to her or a friend.
Appearance: User Image
Other: Is a dancer; Michael's Twin

Played By:
Name:Heather Michelle Moiran
Age: 23
Gender: Female
Personality: Has somewhat of a darker personality; often times she tries to sneak off on her own to just think about things. Ever since she was a kid she's felt as if she were different from all the other girls and is somewhat self-concentrated (not conceited, different thing entirely). She notices little things such as a person's appearance and tone of voice, and often this small affliction of hers gets her into trouble when she begins to judge a person's character by it.
Appearance: User Image
Other: Is a painter

Played By:
Name: Geri Rene Spencer
Age: 24
Gender: Female
Personality: A brain, she had always kept her nose in whatever books she can find. She loves to sing and be in front of people though, and the balance of the two personalities has created a very pleasant type of woman to talk to. She also travels with the Foxtrots and is one of Joe's best friends.
Appearance: User Image
Other: Is a singer; Jakes younger sister.

Played By: Rinel_underwoodUser Image
Name: Lynet Fair
Age: 19
Gender: Female
bio: Her entire family used to be a musical troupe all their own called the Moonlight Musicians. They would travel about the world, performing for people at events and festivals. When Lynet was thirteen, though, they cut it too close to one of the cycles and ended up getting caught in a horrible acid rain storm. Somehow, Lynet found her way to safety, at one of the smaller holds, though the skin on her hands and arms were burned off almost to the bone. She protected her fingers from being burned, but everything else up to her elbows is now quite a gruesome sight to behold, so she covers it up with gloves. Unfortunately, her skin wasn't the only thing she lost, but her family as well. She doesn't know if they are all dead, but she doesn't know if they are alive, either. Still, she has begun to travel with a new group, the Foxtrots, while looking for her family.
Personality: Lynet is naturally shy, though she does open up a bit to people once she gets to know them and can trust them. She can be outgoing and actually quite talkative, usually around all the people in her troupe, but to strangers, she is cold and distant. Even around the troupe, she does enjoy time away from them. She also doesn't talk much of the past, or ever take off her gloves and bandages. She loves children and animals, as well as music and art.
Appearance: (but without the scythe)
Other: musician. Plays the lyre or dulcimer, or when the occasion allows, a harp. She can also sing, though she's too shy to do so while in the company of anybody in the troupe, with the exception of the children, whom she sometimes sings to. Also, because of what happened with the acid rain, she does not like to swim at all any more.

Joe looked at the dark expanse of the ocean before her. Because the water sustained the life of the algae, it was covered in the stuff and smelled like rotten eggs. She had only seen the ocean twice before, and each time remembered it being beautiful and smelling of salt. Her disappointment was evident to everyone else in the corp and her dancing as well was beginning to show it.

Her brother Michael, her complete opposite though he was her twin, had sneaked off somewhere. Probably to go find one of the girls.

Pfft...he couldn't keep it in his pants if it were superglued to his leg. she thought with a short laugh.

The corp was on its way to the next hold, Korrin, and everyone was practicing their routines constantly whenever time allowed. Korrin was the place she and her brother had been born, and neither of them had visited in almost ten years.

Hmm...." twinggggggg....
"No, that isn't right either." Lynet frowns, plucking out another note on her dulcimer, then tilts her head slightly, listening to the sound produced, then makes a few muttered noises of disapproval and starts twisting knobs. After a moment, she plucks another string, then smiles at the mellow but sweet and light note it made. "Better." She mutters, then plucks out another few notes as she leans over the instrument. The music floats off the back of the cart she was sitting on, out over the camp, before getting caught by the sea breeze and rushed off to mingle with the sounds of the ocean waves... though Lynet wasn't going anywhere near the ocean any time soon, especially not in the state it was in.
There'd been a time, not all that long ago, when she had loved the water. She still liked to look at it, in a river or pond... it was very calming... but, there was no way she'd ever go swimming in water again, that was for certain. Lynet looks down at her gloved hands for a moment, then smiles, plucking another few notes with her still whole fingers. At least she could always be thankful for that, that she could still play her music.
