Since the marriage of Yuki Uesegi and Shuichi Shindou, it has been nothing but pure wedded bliss for these two. However, one day, during a night of intense lovemaking, Yuki began to cough.

He had to roll off of Shuichi to cover his mouth and to try to stop coughing. Shuichi grew worried. Then, he saw Yuki coughing up blood. Shuichi had never seen him do this personally and so, he grew frightened. He began to panic.

Yuki, with his free hand, handed Shuichi the cell phone. Dialing emergency, Yuki was taken to the hospital by way of ambulance. Shuichi sat beside Yuki.

Sometime during the ride there, Yuki had passed out. The bag he had Shuichi hold for him was filled to nearly overflowing with blood. The medics wanted Shuichi to continue holding that bag so that the doctors can analyze the problem.

Now in a room where Yuki still lay unconscious, the doctors had told Shuichi that Yuki has got to stop smoking otherwise they are not going to provide for Yuki the operation required to make Yuki immortal.

Shuichi had done what he could to get rid of the habit that Yuki had that made him sick. That was with the help of his best friend and band mate Hiroshi Nakano.

Unfortunately, after Hiro did get rid of the cigarettes, he too fell deathly ill. He was apparently worse off than Yuki at this point needing a full body operation where Hiro was going to have his ghostly spirit transfered to a metallic body.

It wasn't that uncommon to see that Hiro had smoked as well, and perhaps he had himself a drag from Yuki's old pack of smokes.

Hiro had done what Shuichi had asked of course, but now, Hiro was suffering cancer of the lungs that had apparently spread throughout Hiro's entire body and it would be too risky to just suck out the pollution. It would have killed Hiro anyway.

Tohma was with Hiro at the time when this happened. He, Tohma explained that Hiro was planning on quitting the habit. Hiro had told Tohma in a semi-private meeting the week before that once the cancer spreads he was going to quit smoking.

The president of NG thought it was foolish to think that way, but, then again, that was Hiro's decision to continue smoking.

For clarification, Tohma Seguchi is president of NG, not Hiroshi Nakano.
