Since it's Winter Break, I have a lot of free time. This free time is often taken up by musing on Avatar. In particular, 312, since it was the newest one shown.
It occurred to me just how vulnerable Toph was after Zuko burnt her feet. I was rewatching the episode, and the scene in which she's crawling away from him, flinging rocks behind her struck me. I mean, Toph is blind. This is VERY EASY TO FORGET. (For me, anyways. Sokka too, it seems like.) She sees with her feet. But what if her feet are burnt? The panic and desperate air of that scene hit me with more force.
I also wondered what Zuko would do if, in the end, the Gaang didn't accept him. Where would he go? He's more or less closed the door to the Fire Nation behind him. If they didn't accept him, where would that leave him? Would he go to the Earth Kingdom, live a humble little life? It's intriguing.
Just an additional little thing I noticed: when Toph was yelling at the Gaang (between Zuko showing up and her getting her feet burnt), she stomped the ground to make it shake (y'know, for effect). Katara and Aang tensed/winced, but Sokka didn't. I just thought it was interesting.
I also don't think Combustion Man is dead. RED HERRING, METHINKS.
