Two weeks ago, a young woman was raped. A week later, she publicly accused her assaulter, who was promptly arrested. The woman in question hired the best lawyer she could to represent her side, a lawyer by the name of Andreas Kane. Because of her situation, Kane reduced his fee considerably. However, there have been some negative rumors going around about Kane's client & her past. As her lawyer, Kane feels it's his responsibility to protect her from any slander that comes at her. But, there is more to this trial than meets the eye....

Rules 1. No God-Moding 2. Be original! Not everyone can have a tragic past! (Except for maybe my characters client) 3. Be literate! If you don't meet my standard of literacy, I reserve the right to kick you. 4. Romance is allowed, but keep it PG-13 5. No killing another person's character w/o that persons permission 6. PM your profile to me with the title 'You Are Out of Order!'
Oh yes, one last rule. The most important one of them all:
7. MY WORD IS LAW! If you don't like it, you don't have to join. Don't argue with me

ProfilesUsername: Name: Age: Gender: Appearance: Occupation: Bio: Other: CharactersUsername: Zaydin Name: Andreas Kane Age: 30 Appearance: Andreas KaneOccupation: Lawyer Bio: Kane is a relatively experience lawyer, having finished law school 6 years before. Kane has a tendency to be protective of 'damsels in distress', though Kane makes sure to avoid getting into a relationship with his female clients, as it would be both unprofessional & unethical to get in a relationship with them. However, Kane is a caring person at heart, & is always willing to hear a person out. Other: N/A Username: Rinel_Underwood Name: Lynett Sparks Age: 26 Gender: female Appearance: Lynett Occupation: Elementary School teacher Bio: Lynett has been a kindergarten teacher a little over two years now, right from graduating from college. She loves her job and her students and lives in an apartment in the city near the school. After she was raped, she hired Andreas Kane, having heard of his reputation before. Many people wonder how a school teacher, even at the reduced fee, could afford Kane, and have begun to speculate at her past, which oddly, she has revealed little of, beyond her college years. Other: Lynett is indeed hiding some things about this case, but it is not what most people think.

Kane sat in his office at his law firm, going over the case files for his latest case; the Sparks rape case "She should be here soon for her appointment" Kane muttered, checking his watch

Lynett stepped into the elevator, glancing at all the lawyers in their business suits, then presses the button for the floor Kane's office was on, her gaze lowering to the floor quietly as the doors shut. As the elevator rises, she shifts from foot to foot nervously. Being around anybody these days made her nervous. The doctors said it was normal, but that didn't make her feel any better. Lynett shuts her eyes for a few moments to try and calm down, but quickly reopens them. It never helped to shut her eyes. It made it worst. Lynett shakes her head, trying not to think about it, then jumps a bit as the elevator doors ding, then open. Blushing, she then steps out of the elevator, and heads down the hall for Kane's office.

Kane leaned back in his chair, eyes closed "Sometimes I wonder why I take this sort of case" Kane said "Always gives me a massive head-ache when it's over" Kane said "And I hate having to deal with the press"

Lynett reached the door as he said these things and paused, blushing again. For some reason, she felt bad now for getting him involved in this, and spreading her unhappiness to others. After a moment, however, she reaches up and knocks on the door frame. "Ah.. Mr.Kane... I'm here for my appointment." She tells him, fidgeting and glances down again.

"Come in, Ms. Sparks" Kane said, leaning forward in his chair, clearing an open place on his desk. Kane did feel sorry for the poor woman.

Lynett glances up once more, then nods. Walking forward, Lynett then takes a seat in the chair on the opposite side of the desk, fidgeting again. "So um... how does this whole process go?" She asks him.

"Confusingly" Kane said, with a shake of his head "They've got to assemble a jury first" Kane said "And the evidence needs to be gathered & cataloged & all that" Kane said "So it may not be for another week or two before the trial starts"

Lynett nods silently, thinking about that. Half of her almost hoped the trial would never come. She knew she'd have to recount everything then, and reveal the whole truth if the right questions were asked. But... the other half wished it could happen right now, just to get it over with. Lynett sighs softly, not sure which she wanted more. "And... what do I have to do in that time?" She asks.

Lynett frowns, eyes flickering with a multitude of emotions. "Now?" She asks, voice wavering slightly. She knew she would have to retell it all eventually, but that didn't make it any easier to bear.

"It would help me put together a more solid case if I knew the details of what happened" Kane said "I know it must be hard for you, but if you want me to do the best job I can, I need to know what happened"

Lynett hesitates, then sighs and nods, knowing he had a point there. "I... suppose you're right." She replies, then pauses, fidgeting for a few moments as she thinks back. Lynett shuts her eyes, then opens them again after a moment. "It happened in the school I work at. I was staying late... to get my lesson plans ready for the next day... when one of the fathers of a student stopped by. He said he wanted to talk with me about his son, and for a few moments we did, but then..." Lynett shuts her eyes and shakes her head again as images flash through her mind of what had happened.
