Race: Yeidaan
This information was accurate before the great evacuation, but now the Yeidaan are an endangered species, ranging few and very far between. They are a forgotten race.
The Yeidaan are a race of long living, highly intelligent, shapeshifting elementalists. A Yeidaan is normally human in appearance, however they have the explicit ability to shape-shift into certain animals, depending on their clan and family.
Yeidaanni live 100 times as long as a normal human, so the longest that they generally live is 10000 years, but that not all live to this age. They are not considered a true adult until they are about 2500 years old. They are infants until 2 years, and after that they are toddlers until they are 300 years of age.
They are exremely talented with their elemental magics, but also with strategy and technology. Naturally, not all families are of especially strong animals, so it is good for them that they are quick and clever thinkers.
The Yeidaan live in clans pertaining to their animal forms and elements. Within clans there are several families, which are seperated by more specific abilities, especially regarding the creatures that they transform into.
These are the clans of the Yeidaan, corresponding names, and families (and their meanings) under each clan:
