×[Name]Robert “Bob” Sebastien LeBeau
×[Concept]
Highly Dependable Type-A Intellectual
×[Age]28
×[Sex]Male
×[Hair/Eye Color]Reddish-Brown/Solid Red with black pupils (often wears contacts that give him dark-brown normal eyes)
×[Height/Weight]6’1/187
×[Description]A medium build Caucasian man, he is fairly tall and has average muscle-bulk. He travels and feels he needs to stay physically fit for those travels and, also, has never forgotten his father’s training. As such, Robert works out daily. He is often dressed for business, wearing suits or “business casual” type clothing. He prefers beige, tan, brown, and other earth tones. He often wears an Indiana Jones style hat, as a sort of joke because he is an archeologist and says ‘you can’t do the job seriously without the hat, it’s all in the hat’. He frequently wears contacts, which disguise his mutant eyes to be dark brown. His natural eyes are that of his father, solid red with black pupils. Robert is a handsome man, he has a lot of his father’s face in his jaw line and smile and often has stubble when he’s on long trips where shaving can become difficult, though, he generally shaves before he returns to the country and remains clean shaven. While he’s good looking he doesn’t really stand out in a crowded room, a pretty average athletic-type, he keeps his hair short and manageable, he keeps fit and healthy, and he dresses well but nothing about him “pops” but his natural eyes and most of the time, as said before, he’s covering that via contacts.
×[Personality]Highly dependable, serious, intellectual, and a humanitarian. He had an aversion for promiscuous behavior, conversation, and jokes. He is always reserved, socially, and tries to act very polite and maintain a business-like relationship with most people. His friends are his colleagues at work and he occasionally dates but never anything serious as his standards are so high (more in personality and mental traits then physical). Robert prizes himself as being nothing like his parents and views both of them as being over sexualized con-artists, unnecessary risk-takers, and in engaging in (overall) irresponsible behaviors. Robert is very much a Democrat and enjoys having conversations about politics, economics, and other world-issues. Robert enjoys really listening to people, studying them, and prizes himself as having very good communication skills. He is, generally, fascinated by other people and especially other cultures. Robert is a rather religious man, he believes in God and considers himself Catholic.
×[History]Robert was born in New Orleans to a nightclub dancer named Bambi, she raised the boy as a single mother through received money through the mail from the boy’s father. Robert, from an early age, was faced with how his mother was uneducated and lived a rather bland day-to-day existence working too hard for too little. She always seemed unhappy, hidden behind a glass of red wine and swirls of cigarette smoke. The nightly scene of New Orleans was her church and Robert learned to not expect his mother to be home at night. He was teased in school, people telling him his mother was a whore. He hated that. The few times Robert did meet his father, he felt that he was similar to Bambi and saw the undisciplined savvy way the two of them lived their lives as something not worth giving any credit toward. He longed for something stable and routine. Obviously a mutant from birth because of his abnormal eye-color, around twelve years old Robert was picked up by his father who wanted to make sure he received a “proper education in bein’ a mutant”. At Xavier’s school and almost entirely under the tutelage of his father, Robert got training in being… Gambit.
By this time, Robert was more recessive. He’d rather not say what was on his mind and just did what people told him but he resented being made into his father. He didn’t want to be involved in the lore and legend of New Orleans, nor part of any Thieves & Assassin’s Guild, nor part of everything else that came with that, and especially he didn’t want to be on the X-Men. Regardless, Robert lived and trained at the institute until he was 17 when he left for college and adapted wearing contacts almost all the time so his eyes appeared normal. His mother married during this time and had two sons with her husband, Robert is not close to them but usually goes home for major holidays and brings his “little brothers” various gifts from his world-travels. With control of his mutant abilities and no other abnormal physical characteristics, he was able to attend college successfully without any problems. Robert and Remy developed further apart with the young man’s views that often clashed with the things his father had come to hold dear- the importance of the X-Men as a family, the importance of not hiding being a mutant (Remy greatly resented Robert’s wearing of contacts), and his sons dismissal of their Cajun heritage. While part of Remy was relieved his son did not have to become involved in the things he did as a young person, he still felt the boy wasn’t anything like him aside from the trait of being stubborn and not listening.
Robert got masters in Archaeology and went on to travel, putting his degree to good use being sponsored through the Chicago Museum of Natural History. He currently has an apartment in Chicago and still travels extensively for the Natural History Museum and is working on a second masters in Anthropology and ancient history with an emphasis on ancient Egypt.
