×[Description] Being of a light frame Masaru doesn’t appear to be much more than the common example of a Japanese male at age 26. He doesn’t appear to be strong, nor does he appear to be very fast. He commonly dresses in tear away workout pants and some kind of baseball jersey from whatever team he’s playing for but now that he’s not playing for a baseball team he’s been wearing the Nippon-Ham Fighters from Sapporo, Hokkaido away jersey; when at home he dresses in traditional Japanese garb.

×[History] Masaru grew up on Hokkaido and lived a life most like other kids in Japan. After graduating college with a chemical engineering degree Masaru joined the Fighters and played for a few years until getting the opportunity to try to play baseball in America. Once in America it was exposed that he was a mutant and was not allowed to play since the American leagues were concerned about Masaru cheating since it was demonstrated his power is super speed.

What was the characters childhood like? Do they have any memories which shaped them as adults or resound in their memory? The childhood cultivated sense of belonging and conformity through schooling and how his parents raised him.

Where do they feel their “place” is in the world? Masaru feels happiest while playing baseball and tends to ignore being a mutant.

Daily habits/core habits? Daily respect to ancestors and the Kami, strength training and hit a baseball 100 times, he also meditates on his sword which has been passed down for generations as part of respecting the ancestors
What do they “love” to do? Hate to do? Masaru loves baseball and can be somewhat of a womanizer. Masaru hates weakness and laziness so he endeavors to never be able to take care of himself and rarely spends time doing nothing.
Free time is spent…? Perfecting his hitting technique and keeping in shape

How do they handle stress? How sensitive are they to stress? Part of the ongoing meditation is a freedom from stress and worry. Stressful situations are acknowledged but the stress doesn’t impact Masaru.

What are their views on marriage, family, relationships? Masaru would like to eventually be married but does not actively pursue it yet.

What are their morals? A man should endeavor to leave the world better than they found it.

What is the highest degree they hold? What is their education centered on? What is their view on education? A 4 year degree in chemical engineering, education is necessary for a strong society.
Where did they grow up? What was there home town like? Sapporo, Hokkaido which was a fair sized city that is much better planned than American cities so access to necessary things is plentiful and access to extra things are easy
What kind of memories/feelings do they have towards their early education (elementary, middle, and high school)? Early education cultivated the necessary skills to easily execute the degree and has set him up to have a successful life.
Have they traveled? Have they ever traveled outside the country? To where? Why? Did they like it? Masaru is naturally from Japan and is not a naturalized American. As much as Masaru looks down on Americans he feels that he cannot leave until he has contributed to their culture.
Childhood dreams vs. adult realities? Masaru dreamed of being a manager of an extensive R&D department when he gets to be 50. By no means has he fallen short of the mark yet.

What is their taste in clothing/style? Clothing is a presentation of the self and in order to be understood appropriately one should dress the part one is playing.
If they own their own home how is it decorated? Where is it? How much time to do spend there? Masaru rents a loft which contains a bed, a kitchen area and a small television sitting on a counter in the kitchen. Masaru also has a stand that he puts his aluminum baseball bat and his sword on.
How important do they feel “the arts” are? Or sports? Arts are the expression of the soul and thus are very important. Sports are the physical expression of bodily performance and thus are important.
