Introduction
Now, while many of you may be experienced Roleplayers, not a lot of you will have roleplayed in a complex setting involving multiple threads that actually encompass the whole Roleplaying Community, so it is a fairly obvious necessity that there be an explanation as to how things will work.
With that in mind, I have gone to the trouble of writing this guide, detailing the basics needed to roleplay effectively in these forums, without confusing everyone else nearby.

Basics
The most basic thing about roleplaying is making your profile. The profile is a description of your character, including whatever needs to be in there, from a character picture, name, and age, and more, differing depending on your profile. For the most basic profiles, a lot of roleplays have their own profile skeleton, a bare bones, basic profile outline for roleplayers to fill out to make things easier on the person seeking to enter the roleplay. If you want to find this, it is going to be in the profile thread, for anyone to use. Here at the Pokemon Research Institute, we do not require that the profiles be approved before a person begins to roleplay with that character, but we Will tell you if the profile is unacceptable for any reason.
Once your profile is created, and its been posted, your free to enter into the roleplay, from any point you want, whether it’s as a trainer who has been to many places before, and had many adventures up till now, or if it’s a new trainer, just starting their own journey, in order to join the roleplays, you will have to use the most difficult thing of all. The written word. Everything in the roleplaying world is written out, from the things you see, to the words you speak, its all written out. As a result, its recommended that rather than typing out just one line posts, you put some detail into it. Not only does it make your posts sound better, it gives the people roleplaying with you a little bit more to work with.

Advanced
Because of the way a multi thread roleplay is done, there are a few things about It you will need to understand, even if you have roleplayed before in single thread roleplays.
The first thing is that each thread encompasses an area. The title of the thread will tell you where, and the first post of each thread will often contain a description of the area to make things even more clear.
Ie: Pallet Town
A little town in the southeast of the Kanto Region, Pallet town has just a few houses, and lacks the usual pokemon center and poke mart of other towns. The most important thing in this town however is the pokemon lab, home to Oak himself. Here, aspiring trainers from all over the region come to get their starter pokemon, and Oak even stores the pokemon most of these trainers catch along the way. He is also known to give out the ever useful pokedex for trainers in this region, and is known as the pokemon professor… he isn’t always there though…
