A part of creating a believable peice of writing is to do research. Yes, you have to do research when writing fantasy, too. Helpful things to Google would be weapons, psychology, physics, mythology, government, economics, world culture, history, etc.

I'll start off with linking TV Trope's Useful Notes here and more references from elsewhere on the internet and double checking the facts I intend to use because it is a wiki. This site is a surprisingly good place to start when it comes to research.
