1. Please follow the TOS, this is a given.
2. If you're not sure if you're going too far with the content of this guild, message a crew member. Given the nature of this RP, it is understandable that the content of the guild will be pushing the envelope on what's allowed. So if you think anything you may do could be considered offensive to somebody, please ask a crew member before you do it.
3. This guild is just as much about a community as it is about the actual role playing. As such, please be ind and courteous to everyone. This guild is about making friends guys!
4. This guild could be potentially damaged by sudden disappearances or inactivity, as such please alarm your fellow guild mates of any inactivity that may happen. If you are in any matches immediately end them as to not hold anybody up.
5. So the main thread just mentioned that death is unavoidable, right? Yeah, cool, that STILL doesn't meant auto-hitting and auto-killing is allowed. This guild expects you to be at a certain level of maturity, fights are not competitions. They are just as much part of the story as anything else, not meaningless fluff. Use them to show off your character, to make others fall in love with them, to tell compelling storylines. Don't make enemies by aggressively RPing.
6. Profiles must be accepted before you can post the characters. Please don't argue with the mods if they ask you to make certain changes.
7. Read the lore thread (Titled: The World of Horror Theater 3000), it will give you a general idea of what's going on. It'll talk about the show, the world the Horrors come from, and so on. Though it doesn't go in too much detail, it gives you everything you need to get started.
8. If you have any questions about the actual lore, please ask them in the FAQ thread.
9. As mentioned so many times already, please understand that the point of this roleplay (if not all roleplays) is to tell a storyline, or rather to give you and everyone else the ability to write your own storylines. Thus, understand that the various opportunities that present themselves (tournaments, special events, etc.) are STORYLINES, not actual achievements for you to personally go after and win. The mods are in control of the storyline, and we will use our creative vision and the audience results (which YOU have control over) to determine the winners of many things. So PLEASE understand, this isn't a competition for you to win, it is a canvas for you to point.
10. Please read the lore thread before reading any of the other posts after this first one. I know, confusing right? Sorry about that, but it'll be easier for you to understand anything past this point if you read the lore.
11. We understand that given the nature of the types of characters that are in the horror genre, you may have GREAT ideas that would perhaps be very difficult to be represented in an RP like this. An example? Ghosts. Completely intangible ghosts. That would in essence make it impossible for your character to lose. That is not okay. So we highly recommend writing your characters around the fact that they can still be beat whilst also keeping your vision intact. Ghosts can be physically attacked. Try your best to ensure your character isn't invincible or he/she won't be approved. It's okay, to some degree, to have a character that is otherwise incredibly difficult to kill, save for a particular weakness. Given the nature of such a character, it is understandable that he/she would have a huge advantage in their first few matches. But after a while, their weakness would and should be exposed, evening the playing field and potentially playing against their favor. Anyone, under the right circumstances, can defeat anyone else in a fight.
12. As far as shows go, please understand that, typically, there is limited space for the amount of characters per show. So typically, you can only have one Horror per show (unless circumstances such as a storyline or something make this rule inconvenient). This rule may be ignored in special circumstances and is subject to change.
13. HAVE FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN!!!!

I'll keep this brief, since I figure that just based off what kind of RP this seems to be you've already figured out what to expect. There are two parts to this RP (Three if you count audience participation, which is another post): the prison part and the show. The prison part of the RP, primarily set in "The Theater" and "The Wilderness", are typical roleplays using subforums and location threads. The differences of this guild lie in the subforum "Super Ethical Horror Theater 3000", which is the subforum for the actual show. Each show is numbered, with the exception of special events. Every show also has a certain number of "segments" which each have certain characters assigned to it for the show. 90% of these segments will be matches between characters. They will typically be labeled "X vs X" and are basically just fights. Rarely, often for more story specific segments, they will be special allotted moments where you character can do something else. Perhaps it's a public interview, or a speech, either way, the segments aren't exclusively for fights. As for the actual fights... as of this moment we want to start small, so there isn't a thread for all the different match types. However, eventually we plan on expanding this guild and it will include various different kinds of matches. For now, matches are simple: there are participants in a simple arena, and the last one standing wins. There are certain matches being considered, like special arenas or even special rules, such as (keep in mind, this is just being considered) a type of match where each participant is locked in a special stage where they must hunt certain targets, with the winner being who kills the most targets. Also an important fact, and a reason why you were told to read the lore before this: Horrors don't die. Or at the very least, it's very difficult for them to do so and humanity hasn't figured out how to permanently kill them yet. While they can be "killed", eventually a Horror will regenerate back to normal to "return for the sequel". As such, all matches are TO THE DEATH. But death doesn't really matter that much, it's just an excuse for GLORIOUSLY GORY ENDS!

Popularity is a key aspect of Super Ethical Horror Theater 3000. In essence, popularity represents how the television audience views a particular character. Wins and losses don't really matter in this guild, or the show. What really matters is popularity, gaining the love of the audience. And the members of this guild are in essence, the audience. There will be polls and votings that open at random times, where the mods will gauge the popularity of certain characters. Usually, it will involve making multiple choices, Typically a first, second, and third choice. With each choice being worth a certain amount of points. Voting will be strictly private (to ensure nobody gets upset) and you will be limited to voting for only ONE of your characters max. The questions will typically be very specific, like "What was your favorite segment?" or "Who is your favorite Horror from show 3?". The data gathered from said results will allow the moderators to determine which characters are more popular with the "audience". This data could determine tournament winners, champions, and so on. However, the guild will not be completely at the mercy of voting either. As I mentioned, we at Super Ethical Horror Theater 3000 are DEAD-set on telling storylines and giving you the best environment to RP in as possible. We will attempt our best to recognize popularity whilst also ensuring that it doesn't damage the integrity of the storylines being told.

The Press are, essentially, unique human characters for this roleplay, and should be reserved for those who are truly interested in immersing into this RP. First thing worth mentioning: you MUST have a Skype to take a member of the press. There will be a special skype chat for members of the press to plan out and coordinate with each other, otherwise this would be a mess. Basically, if you have a character that is part of "The Press", you AND your character's job will be to write articles for HorrorTheater.com, a special subforum you may see hanging out around the archives.
There are a number of things you can do here: You can write reviews of matches, do interviews with the Horrors, summarize results, or generally just write articles. You will be writing them IN CHARACTER. Communication on the skype chat will also be key, so nobody is working on an article that is too similar to somebody elses. And to also spitball ideas amongst each other.
