Do you think it is ethical to (somehow) put a hotel resort on top of Mt. Everest?

I remember a few of my friends screaming their heads off at each other about this. I think it is an interesting question.

I'd call it more dangerous if anything. How do you build a building of a large size on Mt. Everest? It would also make it an eyesore, to boot.
Also, the air is so thin there some people wouldn't be able to survive up there, and then you have to think about supplying the building and providing transportation for both the customers and the workers. And there's also a problem with electricity and plumbing. . . It just goes on and on, the reasons why it's impossible to get a building on top of Mt. Everest.

I wouldn't consider something like this a question of ethics nessicarily but it would be something that I would be against. To put something such as a hotel on one of the wonders of the world would seem as defielment and proof of how comericaized the world as become. And a million dollars says it would be some American company that would be the ones to back such an idea.

I normally try to be objective about things like this...but yes, I think some of my idiotic countrymen would just love the opportunity to explot more of Mother Nature.

It doesn't violate against any ethical rule in the world... though they will only get rich and 'good surviving' customers coming to that place.

You know what's creepy? I mean, really creepy? The other day, these boys in my psychology class were talking about building a road to the moon by piling dirt on top of Mt. Everest. (I didn't bother asking them where they'd get all the dirt). But the coincidence was weird...

When you say building a hotel on top of mount everst, do you mean on the highest point or somewhere in the middle?

If it's at the top, the hotel will need airlocks and a constant supply of oxygen for the customers to breathe as the air is so thin up there.

EXACTLY! Somebody agrees with me, that it would be nearly impossible to have such a structure on a place so high up!
Also, wouldn't that look stupid, a large building on top of a peak like that?

probably. and I think because it's so high, cement won't set and ink won't dry.

Yeah, there's that too. I never thought of that
