History
Born to a shinobi and his wife in a village outside of Kirigakure, Blaze was an orphan from the day he was born due to his mother dying of childbirth and his father dying sometime before his birth. He never felt alone, however, as a man named Genma Saitama, along with his wife Ikari, adopted him at a young age. However, due to his father's apparent reputation, the couple had trouble controlling his hot-headed temper. Believing that becoming a shinobi would help calm his temper, they enrolled him into the academy. This surprisingly worked as bouts his anger was significantly lessened in frequency, allowing him to experience a more normal shinobi life. During his time between being a genin and becoming a chunin, he became completely aware of what his father did as a shinobi, which was killing the son of a noble by accident; mistaking the boy for an enemy shinobi. This caused him to become extremely upset, due to his adoptive father saying that his birth father was a great man. Completely losing his temper, he attacked and killed Genma in his blind fury. In Genma's last words, he discovered that his father wasn't mistaken, but was tricked by a close friend of his who cast a genjutsu on him. Guilty over killing his father-figure, he waiting a year before returning to the Chunin Exams. This time he passed and officially gave himself a last name, Genma, in honor of his adoptive father. He also swore to kill the man who tricked his father and soiled his name.
