History
Ace was the first born to his parents, one being from the Elric Clan and the other the Muramasa Clan. Since the Elrics were wanderers they had ventured to the Land of Moon at one point but never stay too long, causing his parents to separate. His mother took care of him, teaching the almost nomadic ways of the Elrics. Ace was a natural at using Alchemy (錬金術 Renkinjutsu), easily taking a knack to it to cause pranks and get into mischief. As a kid he was quite rambunctious and acted up so people would know he was talented. If his name meant "one" he was going to be number one! That is, until he had to worry about his younger sister.... She was a slower learner than he was and often was too curious for her own good. Sometimes Ace would try and ditch her from joining in on the games he would play with his friends. But whenever Emilia was alone she ended up not being able to defend herself from others. Being her older brother that was his job, according to their mother, to protect her. So he would stand up for her no matter what trouble she found herself accidentally causing. Though her idea of fun was climbing trees and running through the fields while Ace would rather cause skirmishes and let the horses loose from their pens and ride bare back. Having a little sister bothered him greatly, how was he going to progress if she was always around? Ace joined the Elric military and trained to perfect his art of Alchemy (錬金術 Renkinjutsu) in a more combative way. Getting his license was a piece of cake, but he found out a rather irritating bit of information. The private records in his file listed him as a "half breed", a side note he didn't see on anyone else's records. It bothered him to know that all he thought was real was in fact a lie. Ace dug through all his family's records to find out everything he could and researched more than he had ever in his life. It was tiring to read, train, and go out on patrols since the harsh military scheduling conflicted with his personal goals. It took three long months to discover that he was in fact born in the Land of the Moon. Whatever was there had to be the truth but getting the caravan to return there wasn't going to happen. One night when in battle with a league of bandits, Ace used the cover of combat to leave his post and venture off on his own. It was selfish not to say anything but it was also wrong to have the truth denied to you. The boy wandered for about a year before discovering the Land of Moon, taking up residence there and trying to learn more about himself. It was here he discovered that his eyes were different colors because of his Muramasa heritage. That wasn't the only thing he discovered, he learned that he was capable of much more than just Alchemy (錬金術 Renkinjutsu). Ace has no desire to connect back with his mother or sister, he is more interested in finding his father. Once he finds him then maybe he can know the truth, the real truth. Living in the Land of Moon was a bit of a culture shock, nothing was like the meandering lifestyle he had once lived. Ace felt more connected here and a lot in common with people here, some even had the same abilities he had, teaching him how to use his eye's dojutsu. He received a new name from some of the people he encountered on a regular basis, a Muramasa name instead of his Elric name. He responds to both names but knows he never wants to go back to the old life he had, not for a long time.
