Well we've had many discussions, a lot of "who" vs. "who" debates, but I wanted to get back to a part that is the very founding of things such as this. Why we like Gungrave. We've probably covered this briefly in each person's opinion on various topics, but I want this to be in-depth, full blown discussion/expression. It's my curiousity to know - espeically as there are rapid fans here, yet they haven't seen the series. So it makes me wonder how a Guild could be funded, on such a little knowledge of the series. There has to be a further meaning to it. This is where that will be expressed and discussed by everyone. Don't hold back, you're reasons might seem silly to someone, but to someone else it might speak to them straight to the heart.

I like the sense of loyalty that Brandon has to his job and his friends. He will never turn on his friends, and was torn between the job and his friends at that one critical moment. Brandon couldn't dispatch his best friend. Like Bear couldn't kill his best friend. He had way to much respect for Harry to execute him. Even in the very end, he protected Harry.
Brandon was never selfish and was always trying to do the right thing for everyone. As grave, he continued on protecting even in death as you could say. Making sure Mika could grow up, but it wasn't going to be in the world without worries like her parents had planned. But even in dire straits, he never let anyone harm her when he was active.

Well i really like the history of the Mafia and organized crime. I always whatch that stuff every time it comes on the History Channel. I stayed up late one night whacthing Anime Unleashed like about last year before school got out and saw GunGrave. I whatched a few episodes and knew it had to do stuff about organized crime. So i whatched every episode. Then i got every episode. I just like how the story was with all the betrayal and such. I also like the characters and how there personalities grew somewhat as the story went along.

Brandon and Harry's relationship is really interesting. It's cool to see it develop from almost brotherly to the point where one kills the other and besides that..Cerberus guns rock domokun

Loyalty. To me, that is the most cherished in this world and that is one of the few things that I respect in this world. When I saw this anime, I felt a connection, like this anime was an animated version of myself. In my life, I've gone through some hard moments and anime has always pulled me through it and this one anime, in particular, had everything I believed in and felt because I've always put my friends first and I am completely loyal to my standards. Because when you find those friends, you stop thinking of them as friends and start thinking of them as family. Just as Brandon, I stay loyal to my family, cause without that, life isn't life.

agreed. That was wonderful Jab.
I Love Gungrave. I can't thing of ways to really say how much I love GUNGRAVE 'cause I'm not that good of thing up things like Jab but it's just a great series. Everything just seems so real. Kind of like something that can happen in real life (besides all the orcmen and other things). You fall in love with the characters very easily and they seem to real. It's just all wonderful. The plot, characters, and everything. It's just all great.

everyone made a good point brandon is the best good guy ever in heart he has major loyalty to the family and the rules he took to the grave and also to his friend he knew harry was going to betray them but he let him because of the bond they had.also brandon loved maria that was also a great part of the story, he had emotions not just a mindless killing machine. when brandon died he still had the emotions just not as much. but to be honest what drew me to the series was when i played overdose i saw a clip for the anime and it looked cool and action packed but that was the first episode as i got into it i realised this has alot of depth and action every charactor is ...a charactor they are a individual person not a clone from another show or game
if you didn't read that i like the anime cause it's the whole package story and action

In depth animes are somewhat hard to come by depending, but as far as Samurai X (as we in America have so dubbed it), in my opinion isn't what I would call "in depth". While Kenshin focuses a lot upon linguistics to communicate some points, which I admit is great for showing depth to the characters, but in depth, no. You want in depth you go for something like Evangelion, Perfect Blue, Serial Experiments Lain. But then again my classifications only reflect myself, not the market as a whole.

It reminded me of Cowboy bebop in a sense and I loved the pacing. I also loved the detailed art. Notice the glass when Harry shoot Bradon? Even before then it was all the little details that with into the art. Also I liked how it told a story and wrapped up pretty nicely. I am shock this is all from a game! Most of the time games don't transfer too well into movies or anime. So all in all Gravegun is at the top of my most beloved anime series of all time. Everything about it was well planned and touched on with care. Simply Flawless.

Well remember, the Gungrave game came out while Nightow-san was still working on Trigun. So I'm not sure why exactly the game lacked since I'm pretty sure Nightow-san had the story created, but who's to know, it happened years ago. Nonetheless, much like Trigun Nightow-san has a fascination with the quality that Madhouse puts out (animation company for Trigun and Gungrave). So naturally when the time came, they colloborated once again to create this visual orgasm.
