Rules & RegulationsUpdated and Revised July 14, 2005 Article One: GameplayNo Godmoding. This includes but not limited to:Building up of complimentary character skills to become perfect or near-perfect. Avoiding situations because the inherent consequence is undesired. Taking control of another character without their permission [This excludes DM posts]. Ignoring the actions of others that directly involve your own.
This list is subject to change or have additional elements added at any time. This is a living rule that will adapt to new situations.
Furthermore, if someone is suspected of godmoding, please PM Latent Undoing with citation to the suspected godmoding instance.
If you are unsure of an action or method of doing something, feel free to ask. Speaking up lets us all learn.
No Random Item Creation. You can not find your character in a situation where a specific item (a ter'angreal, for instance) is needed and pull it from your bag or "happen to find it" on the bookshelf next to you.
This rule falls partially under the godmoding rule. To create a needed item on a whim is that said action and will result in reprimanding.
Furthermore, it is now required that any unique and special items be listed in the application profile for that character. Any changes made will be notated and accepted if it is deemed fair and legit. Latent Undoing is the only one who can acknowledge additions or changes.
If you have not submitted a Character Bio, any such items will not be considered. Therefore, if you do not have a Character Bio, your character is, in effect, naked. It is suggested you submit a Character Bio (Not an application, mind you) to me as soon as possible.
Realistic Character Skills. When creating your character, please include the skills a character has. For instance, a blacksmith can not weave silk and be a master fisherman. Jobs should pertain to realistic expectations. Keep in mind this is to be a realistic character. Not a superhuman character.
We understand that many want their character to shine and be noticed, but your actions within the Guild will account for that. Roleplaying characters as a rule are generally above the 'norm' but for realism's sake, we don't want characters that can simply do 'everything.'
Play Your Character but Not Others. No one likes words shoved in their mouth. Don't play the part of someone else's character unless you have their explicit and public permission to do so.
This rule falls partially under the godmoding rule. Acting on behalf of another's character without their explicit and public permission is an act of godmoding and will not be tolerated.
This also applies to NPCs. Vital information will be delivered through DM posts or NPC posts provided by [NPC] Useless information may still be obtained, as well as favors and quick add-ins. Article Two: Participation and ActivityPosting. Please, keep On Topic posts where they belong and Off Topic/Out of Character (ooc) posts where they belong. We will not hesitate to delete posts that do not belong in a particular thread.
As an addition, any posts that violate the TOS will result in deletion on the first offense and banning on the second. This is a No Tolerance rule. As a notice, please be advised that this policy does not always apply. Some instances result in immediate banning. You have been warned.
Absence & Leave. Please notify Latent Undoing concerning long term absences and leaves by means of a PM. We are more likely to receive a PM and verify it than a post on the board, though we will be checking posts. Participation is a key factor in this Guild. Should anyone go more than two (2) weeks without posting, you will be considered inactive. If you go two weeks in being inactive, you will be on probation. If two more weeks of inactivity acrue, you will be removed from the Guild. Six weeks of inactivity is very gracious.
If you are removed from the Guild due to inactivity, you can reapply through the normal means by submitting an application for consideration.
Disclaimer. Rules are subject to change without warning or reason. This is a living constitution of WoT role playing conduct. Abide by the rules or the consequences of your actions will result in banning. We are a very lenient group of people. Do not abuse our kindness and compassion. We are here to write and have fun among friends.
Second Disclaimer. We (The Captain and Crew) are not responsible to spoon feed you the TOS rules, Rules of WoT Guild, or any other information. If you violate a rule, it is your own fault. Ignorance is no excuse to escape the consequences of actions taken. With that said, Enjoy the Show! biggrin
