An updated sticky has been posted that will soon incorporate an organized list of character bios. If you want to jump on the bandwagon with this and write up your character bio, the information needed will be at the bottom of this post.

[August 25, 1:21am CST]
Nothing much to update. I just figured there should be an update to let people know I still check this place regularly (even though I don't post much here). I'm about to begin the Bio project, hopefully just in time to actually move the Guild here and begin the next chapter of our story. I still need Bios from the majority of you, so please.. Try and get them to me ASAP. The sooner the better, and the more fun we can have. smile

September

[September 3, 11:35am CST]
I've begun working on the next portion of the Guild: Character Bios. So far, I have five collected. Soon, I'll have the portions that are public knowledge accessible for everyone at any time. This way no one will have any questions concerning other's characters or a mean to which refresh their own minds with their characters. I'm excited about this feature, but I still need many more bios from people.
Please get them to me ASAP.

Beyond that, school started for me last week. I've thus completed 2 solid weeks with a total of 15 weeks to go. Already it's going fast, but I can't lose focus. Lots of papers and presentations so, I might have quiet spells off and on. But they shouldn't last more than a couple days.

[September 4, 3:52pm CST]
I have edited the stickies and put more information (and greatly organized, I might add!) to the new Wheel of Time Guild Resources and Information Announcement thread. Here, you will be able to find Member Lists, Applications, and the Rules and Regulations that pertain here. In the future (as when I have more time [maybe tonight]) I will add outside Gaia resources that will be a quick reference to WoT terminology, encyclopedias, and other useful information.

As time goes on, it is possible the Character Bios could end up here, though I haven't decided if they will make the move or not. They might just stay a sticky.

[September 6, 11:21am CST]
Things have been shaping up rather well, I think, with the Guild. Character Bios (Those that I have. *coughGIVE ME YOUR BIOScough*) have been posted and are accessible for everyone. I'm pretty sure I left out all the special notes. If I missed something.. PM me. I'll zap over there to remove it. But there shouldn't be any worries.

Next on the list is to finish up the current Guild and get everyone back together to end that chapter and switch to this. Unfortunately, I still have to talk to Aorn about a few issues. Things are behind schedule but concurrently moving along very smoothly and without any hitches.

I think we should have a big party as we move here. Problem is, that's a hard thing to organize. Maybe I'll unveil my face for the event. *shrug* That'd be incintive enough, yes?

[September 20, 1:33pm CST]
Things are beginning to get much closer to the actual move here. I'm excited about it, despite my inconsistant activity here. School and work take the higher priorities, as many of you understand. Bear with me, though. We will get things underway and soon we can all call this place our true home.

On a side note, I'd like to welcome ellioneh to the Guild. She is our newest member to join, and the first to in our new place. With a new person will come fresh ideas and a more enjoyable randomness to our pool of (sometimes disfunctional) WoT characters. biggrin

[September 29, 1:02am CST]
Time has been running away from me lately. Too many projects and not enough hours in the day. This is where I have a problem for a while. I've been looking for a new crew member to add to the ranks, just for the sake of needing some extra help and Kishou has been raised to Crew status. She's shown great attention to detail, helped out you people (from what I've understood), and knows a great deal of the WoT world. If there are any questions, any of us Crew members can answer, though you might get a faster response with Kishou.

As another note, soon we will incorporate a major change into the Guild. With this, the style in which we play will remain the same, but elements will change. There will be a massive update before this change takes effect, so expect it sometime in the next month.

October

[October 3, 7:26pm CST]
Well, yet again time is slipping away. I've revamped the home page to re-include the banner again. Thanks again to Kai for the hard work on it. It looks great (if a little small).

Furthermore, if you notice at the bottom, I have left a special note. We're going to attempt our Grand Induction to the Guild as our home playground on October 10, 2004 (Not next year as some of you may have begun guessing). There's still a lot of work yet to be done concerning the next plot line as well as the next batch of rules and forms of play. Yes, things are changing. If they work out, we'll stick with them, but hopefully we won't be held up by one person after this change. I know some of you are irritated that you're around a lot and others aren't. I'm hoping to fix that. More to come soon. Let's hope I can find the time to work on the new system.

Also, I will be deleting posts that are dated more than 2 weeks without a reply. This is just to keep the place looking neat and tidy. If we ever get a sub-forum feature, we can dedicate one of them to randomness.

[October 8, 11:21pm CST]
I've pushed back the Grand Induction a week. Things just aren't ready enough for my liking. Especially trying to finish up the current guild's story. Another week also gives me time to write out the rules and means of gameplay that will change in the coming plotlines. Plus we've got a potential new applicant to join our ranks. We'll know more in a few days about that one, though. As for now, just a small update.

November

[November 3, 8:08am CST]
Things have been dragging along so slowly that I probably fell asleep waiting for events to happen. However, we're very close to getting things hitched off with a great start. A lot of work has gone into the new Guild format and soon here, I will discuss the importance of the changes. I don't imagine there being much of a problem with the new format since it's going to make things a lot more fun. Fun is good, right?

As it stands, the tentative rollover date has obviously been ignored and outdated. If things are good, I am shooting for this weekend (November 6 & 7). Most of the details (at least initial ideas) are complete enough to get things underway though still require a lot of work. If things work out, then we're about to have fun.

Here shortly, I am sending out a PM to all members of the Guild. Please respond to it with promptness. I know of a few exceptions to this ultimatum, but if you do not respond by Saturday night, 11:59pm, you will not be considered for the upcoming plotlines that will begin. I already know of a few that have not been around much at all in the past few months and our goal is to keep people active. In a sense, this is like school: no participation, no graduation.

And thus, with the upcoming details being revealed and the setup being nearly complete, I leave you with this last tidbit: Let's have fun!

[November 4, 9:51am CST]
As many of you can see, we've taken some steps to organize the Forum and get another step closer to moving over. The Rules and Regulations have been updated. Please read them and be aware of all new additions. There is a wealth of knowledge there that would benefit everyone. I am hoping soon we will have things moved over. Oh, so very soon.

On another note, I did not get around to PMing everyone. Therefore, I will be extending the deadline to the following Saturday (November 13, 2004) and hopefully sending out the PMs today or tomorrow. Or Kishou may do as much. In any case, the previous rules apply.

The new threads are for the upcoming Plotlines that will take shape soon. In the coming days, there will be PMs sent out and the group has been divided in a sense to allow for differences in stories. The split will be notated soon enough and if there are any major disagreements, we will do what we can to work them out. Other than that, there is not much left that isn't already common knowledge. Sit tight, buckle up, and get ready for a new, thrilling ride (Please keep all hands, arms, legs, heads, and body parts inside the Guild at all times.. yadda, yadda, yadda..)

[November 5, 9:44am CST]
And so it is with great relief and nervousness that I officially announce the Guild is in working order and now ready for posting. This is ahead of schedule, yes, but things seemed right to get it done (This assuming you don't consider the countless setbacks that have been taking place over the past few months). As it is now, we are officially moved here. We will continue onward with the Reunion in Illian until we split the groups up (still working on that aspect) and figure out just who is around anymore (some people haven't been very active...) and once we establish the characters that are still participating we will unlock the other threads and hopefully have a smooth rollercoaster ride of thrills and excitement.

I'm happy to announce that on Saturday, I will not be wearing a mask or anything obscure my face. So, I suggest if you want to see me without it, take a copy of the image. I can only imagine what some of you will do with that little bit of information, but it'll be an incentive to gather everyone. Or no one will care. Either way, it should be interesting.

Until my next update, we're up and running and hopefully without flaws.

[November 8, 6:32pm CST]
The Guild has taken off without hardly a hitch. That in itself is worth all the hard work that's been put into it. There's nothing like the feeling that you've accomplished something grand and it's worthwhile. But when it comes down to it, I couldn't have even begun to accomplish this task without the help of every one of you. I can't take credit for something we've all contributed to. It's not my prject: it's our project.

Furthermore, tonight is the Halo 2 release. I am duely owed my copy and thus will have one more item to compete for me time. This is not a doomsday signal for the Guild for those of you wondering. I'll spend a few days playing it with neglect to everything else, but it'll balance out. It'll be Fable all over again. Maybe a little worse, but I'll still be about.

Squished into this time is my last major project for a while. The old Guild needs to be backed up and finally edited out for spelling mistakes and all that other grammatical crap and pulled into a nice little file packet for those who want to read the older story. I do have some ideas about what to do concerning Guild members (Like creating a "Memories" book out of it and sending one to each of you) but those involve costs and I doubt I could afford it on my own.

There's still a little work left to be finished before the two new plots can take wing and fly, but we will work that out this week. Groups have been established and are (tenatively) divided for equality based upon the plots. If there's a major problem with the groups, we will see what we can do to work it out. Hopefully things will go smoothly and thus allow us to have set up the next four or five plots. One can hope, right?

[November 17, 3:29pm CST]
Today marks a good day! We've officially begun the two newest plots of our story and we're looking very optimistic for the outcomes. While I don't have any idea what you people will end up doing with these plots, they are open ended in the sense that anything can happen. NPCs can influence what you do, believe it or not. It's all based off of questions asked or information withheld, etc. So, remember, what you put into it you will definitely get out of it. That should make it much more interesting. And open ended.

I want to thank all of you for helping put this together.

Special welcome goes out to SilusCrow. Already in his two days of being a member, he's shown great potential to stand among our ranks and give us a grand time. Welcome him as he is our newest member and friend.

[November 20, 10:14am CST]
I have taken the time to finally revamp the Member List. It is now a user friendly beast that not only tells you what category a character falls under, but also links you to their Character Bio. Now then, some of you have not submitted Character Bios yet. GET THEM TO ME ASAP! It's been since August that we've been collecting them. I find it hard to believe that anyone's character is that detailed that it takes 4 months to write. If you have time to post here, there's time to write a Bio. It'll take you a small amount of time. Please, please get them to me. Otherwise, the Rules remain standing (And I will edit out/call people on violations).

Other than that, I'm lurking in the background a lot lately. School work has taken its toll on me as I have three major projects due in the coming two weeks. Therefore, for that duration I will not be as visible as I would like. Kishou is seeing to a lot of the activities while I am preoccupied, so don't hesitate to talk to her if you have any questions or concerns.

December

[December 2, 2:02pm CST]
Life has gone drastically insane on me leaving just a scant few heartbeats to take care of other stuff. The Guild has received more attention than anything else and that attention (apparent by my participation the last few days) has been scant to none. Things should be settling down beginning tonight as I give my first presentation tonight concerning my Business Proposal. After the end of next week, I should be fairly free of major work loads and expect to make a full reappearance.

On another note, I might very well be dropping out of school for a year or two. I have to talk/argue with my parents on this one. My falling grades are due to a disgust (or maybe even hatred) for being in school right now. I'll spare the gory details for everyone's sake.

[December 23, 10:12pm CST]
I've not been all that active due to personal reasons. A large majority of it was school, but since school let out, I've had family issues that have come up that I've had a lot of trouble getting through. Then came the social drama, and finally, writer's block. Forgiveness, please, as we now (belatedly) continue the stories onward.

And to top things off, I'm sick right now. Just came down.. with something. Not even sure what. But it's the day before my family get-together and I'm feeling like the world should end. Just one more post and I can slumber. Then wrap all my gifts tomorrow. Me? Cutting it close? Never.

January

[January 25, 9:41am CST]
Surprised? I am. For my long, horrible absense, I have undergone a lot of dramatic changes, hardships, and yes--some fun times. My life has tumbled into the abyss of less time than ever before, which makes the little time I do get precious. I've been spending that time with friends as much as possible.

I was also fighting off Writer's Block. *hiss* However, I think it's passed as my creative juices have started flowing through my veins again. I won't know until I post again, or at least sit down to post. As it stands right now, I am in the process of catching up with what's going on (which didn't look like a whole lot, but I just glanced), and hopefully things will recover (if a bit more slowly than before, definitely faster than in my absense).

I apologize for my lack of respect and responsibility to you guys as I have been a bit selfish and careless. I hope it never happens again. Or if it does happen, it's planned. That sort of thing.

March

[March 25, 1907 Hours, CST]
So, I realize things are bad. Considering all things, I'm in violation of the rules and conduct, and to be honest, the only reason I'm not kicked out is because the guild's ownership is in my name. Bully for me, but it's still little excuse. I have no stones to throw at any of you, and I do ask, humbly, that none throw stones at me.

There are a lot of things that have affected my absense. Everything from being swamped so deep in school work that I didn't sleep for three weeks to having writer's block to being lazy and selfishly taking idle time for my own pleasure to even changing and considering giving up the guild completely.

All things said and considered, they're only excuses. I've been absent. I've done things I said I wouldn't, and there's nothing I can do to fix those broken promises and statements. Kishou pestered me for all of you, nagging me every step of the way. I have felt guilty about it, but once again, it's not an excuse. It's a fault. And I am neck deep in fault right now.

I am returning to make an effort--a true effort, this time--and hopefully we can get everyone back (or most everyone, if that's even possible anymore) and we can continue these stories we've started. And with this effort, I send out an apology that I cannot express in words. What I did to all of you was something atrocious and I hope that some day, in some way, I can make it up to each and every one of you. For what it's worth, I'm sorry for my absence.

April

[April 3, 1721 Hours CDT]
And thus begins my new presence. And there was much rejoicing. Yay. So, as it stands to begin, April will be the month to see who exactly meanders back and who decides they don't want to participate any more. On April 30, Spring Cleaning will take effect. This is a renewal time, though for those of us who are regular posters (or once-regular-fell-off-the-wagon-but-got-back-on-after-a-long-time-away posters), we need not worry since activity will obviously be noted. However, there are some out there that I haven't seen post in a while. There is a time to cut off the old and dead and a time to bring in the new and lively, and May 1 will be a great day to incorporate those changes.

In other news, we've altered some of the characters between the Broken Mirror thread and the Treasonous Pursuit thread. It's already happened, so there's no going back. Hopefully we'll get some more posters going and we can reunite the group. Only to do something more dastardly things to them. *looks around* What? Me evil? *shakes head* Not exactly evil. Just twisted.

In other news, my life is somewhat stable in a chaotic, unstable way. School's coming down on me like a hammer against the head of a nail and I am not going to like how this ends. If I manage to get things accomplished like I appear to be doing, it'll be a smooth transition. If I'm not quite square, s**t's going to get bad. But we'll cross that bridge later on.

Back to Guild news, or at least, partial Guild news.. I'll be putting up a poll here in a few moments that I want everyone to consider. I've been somewhat busy with ideas (when I can't sleep) and I have a new idea for you to consider. Until the next update, though.

May

[May 2, 0927 Hours]
My spring cleaning had occurred earlier, if anyone had noticed. While there aren't that many to see removed, we do have a few issues aboard that are making things difficult.

First, and foremost, is the limited plot in the Borderlands. Upon my return, there is a slight problem with the ideas running that thread. No, we haven't forgotten about you people, we're just unsure what to do at this point in time. I'm working on a solution that will hopefully be implimented shortly hereafter (a week or two).

Second is that people are posting slowly. I know I'm not one to speak much on this topic, but use awareness and participation needs to step up a little bit. I'm trying to keep things rolling again, but it's hard when a thread gets stumped by a single person. It's sometimes unavoidable, especially when two or more are trapped in dialogue or action. Please try and minimize this happening.

Third, I just want to have a good time, as all of you do. So, let's pick up on this bandwagon and get rolling again!

[May 11, 2012 Hours]
Today I will hint that the whole system of the Guild is about to change. No details or particulars will be released as of yet, but be warned that the whole structure is getting torn down and reworked into something that's better than the current system. Yes, I realize this system has had flaws and major bugs in it since the very beginning, but I couldn't organize anything that worked well.

Now, with careful planning and a lot of thought, the necessary changes needed to make this place more lively and fun will be put into effect. And as something else, if you know of any other WoT people, please recruit them. We could use more people in our stories. Especially with the upcoming method.

Furthermore, I'm swamped with school (big surprise, I know [working 6:30 to 11, then going to class from 12 to 5 monday through friday.. Furthermore, I have to do homework on top of all this, and maintain sanity to boot]), but it's mostly a planning stage right now. And things will kick off in a month or two at the latest, and we will have lots of fun!

I'm also considering surfing the other Wheel of Time guilds to see if there are any potential recruits there. I want this thing to grow.. but not out of control-like. Maybe in the next 6 months to a year, I'd like to double in size. Just a small goal I have, not sure if I'm 100% serious about it, but it would be nice to add in a handful of new people. But this is rambling and I shall stop. Until the next update!

[May 25, 1039 Hours]
Today I initiate the new Guild-work system in which everyone (will soon be) free to do what they want when they want however they want (within reason). Currently, the Borderland thread has been locked and shifted to the new Announcement thread, Stedding Shain. This is a place where everyone will go if they don't want to participate in a story, or have no interest in doing a quest. Likewise, no one has to stay here once they have their characters know where the Stedding is.

Furthermore, know that while you are free to do whatever quests you have of your own, Kishou and I will still be around to throw little quirks into your stories with random events of chaos, and other such interesting things. So, while you are largely in control of the direction of your story, there is still the possibility of randomness.

And just because you are given free reign as to the stories you might produce, you are not allowed to participate in any major/minor plots Robert Jordan has already established. Meaning, you could see Rand from a distance, but you can't talk to him. And items that are quested over should be approved by either myself or Kishou (for balance purposes. After all, we have enough artifacts to turn the tide as it is).

Soon, hopefully, the Tear and Mirror threads will join and get back to the new home and we can continue with whatever parties we want whenever we want. Any questions, PM me or Kishou (or use AIM, MSN, etc) and we'll talk about what's going on more in depth and answer more technical questions. Until then, Borderlanders are free to do what they want!
