Greetings my avid Phantom chums! A friend and myself have been toying with the idea of writing some Phantom-fan stories, but I have a hankering for writing songs. So, you can suggest lyrics or we'll just post some ideas and we'll come up with a new song. This thread is a little random at the moment, so it'll be nice to see where we all take it!

Hmmmm. Well, I'm writing a song for Erik at the moment. I'm doing it for the book version of Erik, when he's on his knees telling Christine that he loves her. Not when she agrees to be his wife, but when they first meet. I'll post my lyrics soon, but does anyone have any suggestions? Also, does anyone want to help me make it a duet?

I consider myself a writer, but I can't say I am a very good one. I have the grammatical aspect of a writer all wrapped up, but I am completely useless when it comes to imagination and building up towards a climax and whatnot.
I tried writing the ending to the book Phantom in Christine's point of view, and I totally hated it in the end. But, of course, it is about Erik, so I suppose my standards were raised.
So, that probably means I can't write songs either, even though I have a great desire to do so.

Maybe some thing like: If had only waited a little longer, I could have lived my live a little stronger and not have agreed to this dark companionship... >.

I'm a fairly good writer myself- (One thing I will give myself credit for. When I'm just writing a fanfiction out I can do damn well. xD). I haven't written any fanfictions in some time though, I'm going to delete the last ones I had. I always end up Marysue-ing the whole thing! xD
Perhaps I'll begin a POTO one and try it out? I've never attempted writing one on that and I think I may have enough Phantom knowledge to write about it.. *Strokes chin*
As far as songs go, I don't test myself with those much.. The whole rhyming scheme doesn't flow well with me. If anyone needs an idea for stories though, I'm open to help out.

I have a plot, but I'm just trying to think of what I want to include in it. Basically, it's set when (in the book), Christine first meets the Angel Of Music. It's when Erik is on his knees and admits to not being an angel, but tells her that he loves her. I want the song to be a duet because I really want Erik to speak his emotions, but Christine to speak her thoughts. So when Erik says something like, "we'll live together", Christine has all those thoughts of being a prisoner, etc. Also, I'd like to work in some form of prophetic esence. For example, trying to include the chandelier's fall into the song but not directly. Maybe a line like, "He loves me like so much falling novelties" or "falling glass" or something like that. The work is going a bit slow at the moment, so post any ideas and suggestions. When I get a bit more finished, I'll put it in the first post and we'll discuss where to take it.

Ok. Here's what I've finalised so far.
Erik: Christine, I am no angel, Though my heart beats life and pure light, I dwell in this darkened Hell, Away from God's cruel sight, I will be forver, beside you, Though my face, is a curse from above, I will guard, teach and guide you, For you are my love,
It's very, very basic (and I'm kind of ashamed of it), but it's a start!

Wow! I hadn't expected such a warm response. Now, my absence from the guild is really turning in me like a knife. Or maybe a chaffing from a punjab lasso! But, all help is welocme and all suggestions a truly admired as well as wanted! Iron Maiden 890, please post the poem!?! It will be nice to hear a sweet melody about the angel! Obviously, no material will be stolen from it! Also, WolfenFury has come up with some great lyrics that I've decided to add to the song. So, at the moment it runs thus:
Erik: Christine, I am no angel, Though my heart beats life and pure light, I dwell in this darkened Hell, Away from God's cruel sight, I will be forver, beside you, Though my face, is a curse from above, I will guard, teach and guide you, For you are my love,
Christine: He kneels and speaks like a man in love He sings like an angel from my fractured past How can I swallow these words from an “angel” Who is no more than a shadow beneath a mask? Tell me how, oh angel, how can I trust A man spinning webs of brilliance From deception, dark, and dust?
