I recently had an interesting thought, and it may seem to be a bit strange at first, but I think that it would be horrible to be all-knowing, or all-powerful.
Now, your probably thinking "how would it be bad to have the entire universe in your hands?"
Well, think about it. What do you do to make yourself happy? Play sports? Have a hobby? Think? Hang out with friends?
Thats a shame, because as god, you are now so good at those things, you cannot possibly exceed yourself. You are stuck, there's nothing to do.
That doesn't quite address the friends issue, though. Ever had an imaginary friend? How about a puppet or plush toy? Would you consider it an amusing friend, because thats about as close as you can be to anything when your all-knowing. You made your friends, you know what they'll say, feel, and act like.
Anyway, I'm not sure how to make this a discussion, but they are some thoughts I wanted to share.

Either that or god is so egotistacal that just knowing he is himself gives him a metaphoric stiffy. It it works for me, why not God? Also, wheter you belive in him our not, capatalize the "G". It is afterall a name. We even Capitalize the "H" in Harry Potter.

Merely make yourself oblivous to truth- that would immediately strip me of any chance at happiness, not that I can speak for anyone else. I couldn't be satisfied with delusions, so if I were all-powerful and all-knowing, I would be incredibly depressed.

god, in effect, is a figment of his colective believers! a gigantic imaginary friend... so to seak!
all you need to do is wish him happy and hey presto! happy god! and think of all the fun you can have pulling pranks on the average joe blogs!

If such a god exists, then he is all powerful, therefor he is a being witha completly diffrent mind. Perhaps God is incredibly easily amused. Maybe god is a machine. We humans cannot begin to pretned we know how he works and why he works. The best thing for christians to do is accept he exists, and figure out why later.

if such a being excists it is quite posible that he experiences a compleatly diffrent set of emotions all to gether! his consious mind could ex perience things on a 4th dimention!! that we cant hope to comprehend... thats if he excisted!

Thats an excelent point, God may very well be a being, maybe a race of being much more powerful then we could ever dream to imagine... excluding the fact that the forth dimension is time. There is belived to be 10 dimensions, anf the 4 we know are as follows:1=legnth, 2=width, 3=height, 4=time. the last 6 are unknown as far as I know, But it is belived they are tightly coiled, so to speak, in away they mesh with our existance, but are undefineable. I'm no physics major, there's a ton of math involved too. I got off on a rant there. I see your point, and its an excelent one at that.

I made a topic in ED relating to this sort of idea, and it's implications. Despite being limited in my logic by not being God, I don't think any being with the attributes we usually describe would want to be in that state for long.
