How old do you think people should have to be to drive? In my opinion, it depends on whoever it is. If you are mature enough to drive at.. say.. 12.. then you should be allowed that right legally. This is just a random question that I thought about.

I think that it should either a) stay the same, or b) be raised to 18 with a hell of a lot more/better public transportation.
Just today my friend got in a car accident, and another the week before.
It's ridiculous.
And I know that if it were raised to 18 I wouldn't have my license, but in general we get in waaaay too many accidents.

Hey wait.
Wasn't this in an article from Time Magazine last week?

Matureity is not the entire issue. Driving is ******** scary,m and I want someone whos mature, resposible and some what wise before driving. I say it should stick to 18.

Nappy: I totallly agree with you about public transit. this is why I am moving to th city for college.

I think the driving age should be raised to eighteen. I'm getting my license in about four weeks and I know I'm ready, but that's because I've waited and taken the time to gain some experience.

I'm probably biased, though. I live in Massachusetts, home of the world's worst drivers. Most of the kids I see can't drive worth a damn. They go too fast, ignore signs, pay no attention to the road...they're horrible! Maturity, in part, has something to do with it. Skill does as well, but...well, you know the deal. Any jerk can make a car go 0 to 60 in seconds flat, but it takes a good mind and a good set of reflexes to stop it.

Eighteen. There are way too many accidents caused by inexperienced, immature drivers at 16.
In direct relation with this is the drinking age. Somethign needs to be done to stop kids from driving around, drunk as hell, because its 'rebelling' or whatever the hell they justify their actions with.
What's so great about Beer, anyways? Especially crap like Miller or american Budweiser. It tastes like. . .fermented horse piss.

You don't really drink for taste, though.
It's cheap and it gets you drunk.

And some beer DOES taste good. Asahi Super Dry. . .mm. . .and nothing beats a cold beer on a hot day.

I feel that the age limit should be around 15-16. Though they may be mature mentally, 'tis most likely that they are not physically. When I was 12, I had a hard time reaching pedals, and I was taller than most.

Yeah. I don't think there's a certain age, I think it's a matter of maturity and skill. I drive pretty well, I'm sixteen. I know an a lot of ******** who can't drive who are my age [and somehow got their licenses].

WELL THE LEGAL AGE IS 17 HERE, BUT I'D PREFER 16.
17'S JUST A STUPID NUMBER.

Where I live, your able to drive when your sixteen.
But I think we should only to able to drive at seventeen.
There are SO MANY stupid kids in my city, and all of them drive at night drunk, and turn up in a car crash.

Where I live you must be 18 to drive...
I want to drive dammit!

If the driving age is lowered to 16 then a lot of people are goig to be happy!

changing the age to 18 would not make any difference, it would still be the same
