Here's a conversation I have had with "KaGurl" which will explain my stance.

Hackers.
Slightly devious, I wouldn't say they are "bad", or "evil", just "cheap". =D
But I PM you in regards to your hatred of scammers.
Why?
Why hate the scammers?
I understand hackers, as people are "defenseless" (Defenseless in the way that they are too lazy to install defensive measures) against them, but why scammers?
Because scammers trick people into giving them their gold. Its wrong.

How is it wrong?
I mean, I'm no scammer, but I have friends who scam.
Even my real life friends scam me.
They use deceit, trickery, and persuasion to obtain gold, items, and other desirables (Guilds being easiest, seeing as the power a Vice Captain has).
But you must admit, the scammers do "work", per' se', for their goals, and it is a risky business to venture. Besides, only the most truly incompetent of Gaians get scammed.
But who are you to say it's wrong?
What is wrong?
What constitutes something to be in such a general category?
Maybe dishonest, but not "wrong". That's like saying Hitler's genocides were "wrong". Such a general statement is "wrong".
Scammers prey on the less fortunate or intelligent to make a quick buck. God you might as well just say hackers are good too cause they do work also.

Now I would have replied with

Quote:

Hacker's work is worse in the fact that they prey on the majority, and you people ave finally softened me to beleive that instead of taking security measures against hackers, I should eliminate their trade entirely.

I'm sayin Scammers work harder, and they prey on the incompetent fools. They don't prey on the "less fortunate or intelligent", they prey on total fools on Gaia.
Can you honestly feel sympathy when a noob gets scammed? After all, noobs are another one of your enemies.
Scammers just keeps things on a realistic tone. =D

But the a*****e put me on her ignore list, effectively destroying any venue of communication that I might use.
So I am pretty pissed off at Scammer-Haters, and people who pull this s**t.

Comments, opinions, concerns?

I find it odd that you were put on the list like that.

I used to scam on Diablo 2. My philosophy was "If they fell for it, they don't deserve what they lost."

I don't understand why it's so hard to just follow the rules.
Why do we have to go around the system?
Why can't we just be honest?

I contest the rules themselves.
Why are those rules implemented?
Forced honesty?

It's not forced honesty - it's human decency.

I can't see a person who improves their situation at the expense of others' as a very good person. Harm, hurt, and scam others to get ahead or what they want, while other people work legitimately for what they have. It is... well unfair, I think. And unethical...

But I'm speaking of things bigger than games... so... yeah...

One word. Life.
Machiavellians make the world go 'round.
My butter isn't churned from my love of scammers, it's churned from the hatred of scammers.
I could honestly care less if your starter punk shirt got stolen.
Scamming is legitimate in my book.

I'm with you. For the love of god, THINK about what someone's trying to sell you before you accept the offer.

You have to be a pretty large idiot to fall for a blatant scam.

Others that are harder to identify really don't require that much use of common sense, so if you get scammed at all, you probably deserved it.

Learning from one's past scam-ee experiences builds the online character, anywho.
