The land of Narvina was a peaceful land. Order and justice ruled, and everyone prospered due to the power of the Elemental Crysts that protected the Light Cryst. It's holy light bathed the land in happiness and peace. However, centuries ago, a meteor crash landed on the Narvinian continent. Inside the meteor dwelled a virus know as the Spawn. This virus is a parasitic nightmare, taking over host bodies and morphing their body into a new creature. The Spawn range from amoeboids that are as large as an averge human foot, to the dinosaur-like monsters. The armies of Narvina fought against the plauge, but they were overpowered. To keep the world from falling into a state of complete darkness, the Thirteen Sages, the most powerful of all spellcasters, split the Light Cryst into thirteen Radiant Shards and went into hiding, sending the four Elemental Crysts into hibernation.
Present day, the Spawn have completely overtaken the continent of Narvina. As the Spawn cannot reproduce once they have coupled with a host, they allow a set amount of sentient beings to live so they may gain new hosts. Most people don't live past their twenties. However, the thirteen shards are awakening, and thirteen chosen warriors will rise to the destiny set before them...
Current Setting: The Mining Town of Synra. As this is a mining town, and not a "harvester town", people live longer. There is a large Spawn garrison that overlooks the town and makes the inhabitants work.

It glowed in times of trouble and something always seemed to help her then. The villagers around her feared the necklace and cast her from their society.
