I don't think there is too many. But I'm sticking to two because I want to use my costumes enough to say I got my money's worth.

I'd suggest you bring just as many as you want, but remember to still have fun~
My first Fanime, I ran into this girl that, in order to be fair to all of her 'cosplays' she literally had to change them every 4~6 hours. She was either some popular cosplaying model or seamstress, I can't remember which, but all of her cosplays were flat out fantastic.
This year my attentative plan is to bring two, but neither are complete yet (eh heh), so that's probably another important thing to look at? Are they completed, how much time do you have to dedicate to them, and are there any that you know for a fact you want to cosplay as more than any of the other ones? It may be your best deciding factor for you, how many are too many, when the con starts to get closer and closer.

The person you describe reminds me of someone I saw at Sac Anime Con.
Well, it's starting to look as though I won't be bringing InuYasha. I don't like to cosplay alone, and with my Miroku not going and my Sango and Kagome also leaning towards no, there would have to be a gathering for me to even consider packing it.
As it is, I'll need to change between gatherings on Sunday already. sweatdrop

I'm doing around 4 but it seems like more....I based My weekend on this but I'm sure at the con I'll be switching outfits... xD

Yeah, a lot of my friends wear 4-6 costumes a day for four-day cons, so I don't think you should limit yourself. Just get done what you can. :]
