It really doesn't hurt to dream, and for the most part, I imagine my characters as movie actors so I can imagine my novel as a movie. I look at scenes that way, and when I see them move and talk in my head as certain actors, it makes it more real for me, thus, helping me write. Here are my dream actors for my characters: Kazuo Matsushima - Takeshi Kaneshiro Tatsuya Shimamura - Yutaka Takenouchi Amaya Watanabe - Yukie Nakama Juanita Cazatela - Isabel Oli Lewis Collins - Jonathan Bennet http://www.jonathan-bennet.comRodrigo Cazatela - Coco Martin What about you guys?

I think i would find it quite painful to watch my characters portrayed as movie actors. I have enough trouble bearing when they make a movie of someone else's book i've read. Then again, thats just me being insane. I just imagine them in so much detail that i'd never be able to make someone look and act quite like them.

It'd be kind of hard for me to see any of my characters as movie actors, seeing as I've already drawn them on paper, and I'm extremely used to what they look like.
...Well, I guess I should after having it for six years.

I just can't imagine any of my characters as movie actors, especially not the ones that has been with me for a while now, and quite frankly if I ever got good enough to get published and then popular enough for someone to want to make a movie out of my story it would have to be an animated movie I would never agree on someone making a normal movie out of a story I wrote. Not that a situation like that would ever come up but yhea ^^;

Like I said, dreaming's for free biggrin
But truth be told, if I were given a chance for my novel to be turned into a movie or an animated (as in anime) series, I'd pick animated series any time! Just as long as I do the character design, since I already have them. But I doubt Japanese companies would like to tackle on the subject of WWII, like in my novel. I'm hoping to interest them with my main Japanese character though.
Hahaha, dreaming again. My sketches are in a forum here somewhere...

On occasion I can see my characters being played on the big screen...for example, Victoria Pratt (who played Shalimar on Mutant X) could also double as a character I wrote up called Alex Winger...(an allaround kick-buttaholic)...I wrote her before the show began, and the first time I saw it I had to do a double-take. Some characters, though, I just can't see at the movies. My recently developing book about merfolk.........would take quite a bit of makeup and digitalization in order to make that movie happen, seeing as it happens completely underwater *blinks*

I totally think about this all the time. I've actually considered writing my book as a screenplay but the plot is just screaming to be a novel so I've given in. I was actually talking to a friend of mine about this today. I think the only one it would be REALLY easy for me to cast would actually be my main character. I can't see anyone but Elijah Wood playing him. Big, innocent eyes, a shy but intellegent air about him, the makings of a dreamer, it would just be perfect.
Some of the other characters aren't so easy. But if it ever did get made into a movie, I would have to be extremely involved in the process. Can't have them killing the story. Hollywood tends to do that. ><

I have to say I prefer imagining my characters a lot more than actually seeing them as actors. Actors are people that already exist, and so, it takes away from the "uniqueness" of my character. I find it a lot harder to make a character that even resembles an actor. Anyhow, that's my input, I'm off!
