I get inspiration from the most random things.

I have a story called Euphoric Epiphany and it was inspired by a stuffed animal I bought at a store.

I named the stuffed elephant Everett and knew I wanted to have a character obsessed with elephants. One of the four main characters in the story is Everett who is obsessed with elephants. He is awesome too.

I find it so funny I can write a 83 page story that was inspired by a stuffed animal.

Anyone else get inspiration from odd places? What inspires you?

Well, for my latest work in progress, my inspiration was a package of mushrooms and an empty fish tank. Eeyeah. *scratches head* Other pieces have been thought up while watching nature documentaries, which are always good for drama and flair and research!

Generally i'm inspired by nature. Trees, birds and mushrooms in particular. I do have somewhat of a small obsession for mushrooms. Also, i love second hand books. Sometimes i look through, and like to see what i can find about its previous owners. Did they like coffee? Did they like treating books well? Do they fold their pages or use bookmards? Its amazing what you can tell. My final source of inspiration are the striking people i notice or meet. Thinking about their lives, how they must work and so on.

WHEN did I read a book where the character did that with second-hand books?

I remember now.

And I was not faking that forgetting for any kind of dramatic effect lol

I know! The other day i got a book from some place up at penno. And When i was flicking through it i started doing that subconciously. Its fun, and i command you to try it sometime. Surprising how much people leave in their books!

Oh wow. No, we can't have that. I'll keel over and die from lack of grammatical correctness! My last breath will be spent trying to defend the frontiers of language! Each non-word will be to my mortal peril! If I hear "l33t sp34k3rs r0xxers mY s0xx" one more ti...*dies*

Awesome. That made me think of Hippo, my stuffed animal from childhood. I get a lot of my inspiration from music, art, and just life in general.
