Weekly Prompt Challenge

What?
In short, the Weekly Prompt Challenge is a word prompt game whereby each week you are challenged to produce a piece of writing including a topic decided at the beginning of each week. All participants will have the remainder of the week to work on their entries. Entries can be submitted in any form of writing (prose or poetry), including but not limited to short stories, descriptions, essays, poems and song lyrics. There is no limit on the amount of entries you may submit each week, but remember - quality is more important than quantity (generally speaking).

When?
At the commencement of each week a thread will be made detailing information about the weeks challenge. At the end of the week, the week's challenge will be declared closed and the following weeks challenge will be opened. At the end of the week the entries will be judged, and 1st, 2nd and 3rd place awarded. Prizes may also be given when we have the funds to do so.

Why?
The topics for the Weekly Prompt Challenge will encourage you to extend your imagination beyond its former boundaries. Participating in the Weekly Prompt Challenge is intended to be a fun and exciting challenge, which will involve you in Besotted's community as well as developing your writing skills.

Not enough?
For those who want to over-extend themselves into the thrill of the Weekly Prompt Challenge, here are some ideas of other things you can incorperate into your entry.

- Write a short piece on the topic every day of the week.
- Dictionary.com word of the day - Include one, some or all of the weeks words in your entry.
- Seventh Sanctum character generators - Use one or more of the generators on this site and incorporate it into your piece. Kudos to you if you can make it plausible and original.

Other.
We highly encourage users to actively participate in the improvement of features such as the Weekly Prompt Challenge in our guild community.
