Has anybody else heard the goos version of this song? I heard it through a site called Imeem and I love it so much! But which do you think is better the goos version or the original Edwin Mcain version?

Goo Goo Dolls don't have a version of this song. It's just a falsely labelled version. Goo's have never done it, and probably never will.
But if they did, their version would kick Edwin's a**, because Edwin's an a*****e. 3nodding

Ok so i did some real research, and so far i have found nothing conclusive. but at the same time it is strange, there are alot of sites that have the lyrics for the song "I'll Be" under the goo goo dolls. so here is my theory, maybe they performed the song at a concert one time but never officially released their own version of it to the public that would make sense to me. i really don't think that it's all that improbable, hey if they sung "867-5309" then why not "i'll be"?

Because Edwin's an a*****e. 3nodding
I think that someone labeled the song as Goo Goo Dolls once, and it got shared on the internet, so there were a bunch of people thinking it was Goo, and they submitted the lyrics to the site. *shrugs* That's my opinion.

She's right. The Goos have never done the song and I am 99.9% sure of that. I have spent the past three months of my life searching for every single Goo song ever and every version of everything and I've never come across Edwin McCain except on a lyrics site under the Goos. I think that it was mistaken identity because someone probably thought that McCain sounded like Rzeznik, which he does not, and decided to post stuff about it. I'm not 100% sure but I am pretty close, not to be like stuck on myself or anything.

Yeah, that's probably it.
I've tried to correct it on a few sites. Succeeded in some cases. The two shouldn't be confused, because Edwin's an a** and Johnny's not.

That's okay. Goo never sang it, and the guy who did is an a*****e anyways.

I love how you've bashed him like a billion times through this whole thread razz You rock!
I love the song, and that's about it. It'd be cool if the Goo's did it.

So may I ask why Edward McCaine is being called an a*****e?
Also I kinda wish the Goo would re do the song because it's their kinda material and Johnny would sound lovely singing it. heart
