Benedict felt like he'd been waiting forever, checking his watch, which instead of wearing, he tucked away safely into his backpack, every now and then, before putting it away and tapping his foot. For the first while, he'd been able to patiently wait for Miette as his fellow students, some his own age, some not, and some walking home together like he was -HOPING- to get around to eventually, walked by him to head home.
It was only after it seemed like the 'LET'S GO HOME!' commotion stopped that he realized he'd been there forever, or at least what felt like forever.
"... Myssssssterrrryyyyyy.... what's taking you so long?"
Benedict, or rather Bolero, didn't feel like standing and waiting all day, with his bag, complete with a mess of books and art supplies, weighing him down. So he set it down and sat down next to it, idly playing with the ribbon he'd tied into his hair.
He couldn't help but think that their mother would start to get worried if he and Mystery didn't start heading home soon, however.
It was sad how his own mind could overcompensate a few extra minutes to feel like hours. It was due to this lovely 'ability', that he got up, putting the heave bag over his shoulder, and started to walk back into the school to go and hunt for the little mass of trouble.

"Zooooooooooooooooooooom!!!"
A little girl ran through the hallways, her nose almost seeming to act like a homing device upon her big brother. Her arms were extended as she pretended she was an airplane, flying her two passangers down the hallways.
And then she saw him. With the biggest of grins, the little girl immediately homed in on the much larger boy. Her arms were still outstretched to her sides, and her feet began to run as fast as they could towards the boy.
"Zooooooooooooooooooom!!!" she called out as she then proceeded to jump up and tackle her brother, regardless of all he was carrying. It was evident that there was going to be a collision, regardless of anything that her big brother could do or try to prevent such. After books and art supplies went flying, the girl cheerfully added to the end "Hullofericerous, Bolero!!"

Seeming to take the talk as meaning she could just sit by and talk, that is exactly what the little girl did. Mystery seated her rear in her brother's lap and made herself comfortable as she did such. She placed her chubby fingers to her lips as if thinking about something:
Where to start, where to start?
"...oh... okay! I was on my way to find you, when suddentastically, a ghosty grabbed me by the hair. It was being mean to me! And complainin' about others being too noisy! It made my head hurt!! The ghosty eventualadurally let me go and said it would play with me if I got them to go away! I got them to go away... and some teachers did too... and the ghosty said it would play with me again!!"
She smiled as she looked up to her brother, expecting him to ask about the ghosty some more, because she knew that the story was 100% the truth. He had no reason to not believe her, right?

Benedict: Older brother, pushover, and 100% predictable.
Bolero made no effort to shove his sister off of his lap, seeing as she'd get off in due time.. or so he hoped, and simply listened to the rather rushed and confusing sounding story. A ghost, a large amount of noisy students, and it wanting them to be quiet.
Perhaps it was him in another life. More likely not to be so, he decided.
So he did the thing that was to be expected of him. He asked more about the ghost.
"A ghost, eh? What did it look like?" he asked, not really believing a word she said about why she was late, taking it to instead be an imaginary friend, though he wouldn't say this.
Bolero set a hand on Mystery's head as he said this, smiling a bit. In the back of his mind, however, the concept of the ghost being a bully that was playing games with his sister's head came into formation. He'd have to find out if it really was so before he went going to get revenge.... or beaten up. Whichever came first.

The girl was now beaming as she then reached into her pocket where her friend lived for the most part, and pulled out a slender card. It was black with golden edges and chain-markings on the backside. On the front side, an image of her new friend was drawn with the words "The Order" on it. Holding it up so Bolero could see it, she said "Ghosty looked like that! ...and it says 'the order!'"
She couldn't help but feel proud of her accomplishment. She had read the words all by herself. Reading wasn't one of her specialties, so she really wanted to make a big deal of that part.
"...do you think I should name the ghosty so that I don't have to call the ghosty a ghosty anymore? It must be confusimatating to keep being called something so simple, right?" Again, a big grin appeared on her face as she waited for lots of answers. However, one thing which was interesting to note was the fact that the girl already seemed very possessive of the card. She held it up for her brother to see, but she didn't seem to have any intentions of actually handing it off.

He made no move to take the card from his sister, instead moving it just slightly so he could see it better. "Hmm. Your new friend is lovely." he complimented, unaware that if the card itself couldn't hear him, it would be hearing about it, most likely, when he wasn't around. "The order? I wonder why it says that?" he pondered out loud, releasing the card.
"Well.. would you like to name it? If you want to name it, you should. I'm sure they'd appreciate it." he added, though he secretly wondered where on earth she'd gotten the card to begin with.. and when he'd be able to go collect his stuff which was strewn down the hallway in an unorderly manner.
However, Bolero was rather sure that his sister was too innocent to have actually -stolen- it from someone, so assumed a friend had given it to her for some reason or another. She'd certainly not made it herself, though.
And that was meant in as nice of way as possible. It was just common fact that six-year-olds didn't have the patience to color inside the lines.
"What would you name it, anyways?" he inquired, resting his chin on her head and setting his hands on his knees.

BIG WORD ALERT!!!
"....appreciate? What does that word mean?" the girl bubbled up, seeming to ignore everything after that point so she could learn another fantasticalicious word. She leaned her back into his chest and looked up with her wide deep purple and golden eyes. She almost seemed like a kitten eager for attention.

Oh damn. He'd just done it again. Bolero sighed a bit, rubbing the side of his head while he frantically scrambled, internally, for a way to explain the word he'd used without using -another- big word she'd interrogate the meaning of out of him.
"Well... when someone appreciates something, that means they're grateful that they have it..."
Internally, he wondered if he'd have to explained 'grateful' as well. He hadn't had to himself, fortunately, but on the other hand, he didn't know what words Mystery's teachers had taught her either. He needed to hand them a notebook and ask them to write down every word they explained to her for his own vocabulary's purpose.
Bolero's vocabulary was separated as such: Words he could always use, and words he could use around his sister and not get the 'Oooooh' stare. The second was being updated constantly with words from the first.

"............what does 'grateful' mean?"
She was getting 2 for the price of one, and she was loving it. She still leaned back into him and she still kept her eyes wide and fixated upon his ever-blushing face. Her hands brought her card down to settle down in her lap.

Internally, he was SCREAMING. He couldn't believe he'd gotten himself roped into this. One day, she'd discover the dictionary in his room (if she hadn't already) and he'd be forced to read it to her (or help her read it to herself...) just to complete her life.
Or at least that was one of his reoccuring nightmares.
As much as he loved the girl, sometimes, he couldn't help but wonder how he'd gotten all the patience he had.
"Well... to be grateful means your happy about something.. kinda like when your thankful."
Now.. he was -pretty- sure he wouldn't have to explain that one... he hoped.

"Ooooooooooooohhhhhh!!!" The usual sound of her comprehension of the words echoed through the empty hallway a bit. In order to confirm her understanding, she repeated what had been said as accurately as she could:
"...so grateful means happy and thankful, and appreciate is when someone is happy and thankful also?"
What luck it was to now have TWO words which basically meant the same thing! She bounced a bit in her seat, seeming to have quite a bit of energy left. Mystery then suddenly did the unexpected: She stood up and released her brother of his sitting-prison. It seemed as if she was ready to go home now. Only worrying about the card which had been in her lap, she tucked it away in her pocket and pulled out her other companion for a bit. The small keychain plush was soon nestled between her fingers and she began to stroke the soft fur.

Bolero nodded as he stood up, fixing the lovely butt-shaped creases in his pants and starting to gather up the nearby objects which ad flown from his backpack.
"Pretty much, yeah. They're interchang-...... people will use either one." He had stopped himself from using a big word, instead putting it back into layman's terms so that he wouldn't have to define it anyways.
"Now care to help big brother pick up all his stuff?" Bolero inquired, shoving a book into his bag, pulling out his watch again to check the time, before putting it back into his bag.
He couldn't even count how many colored pencils, pencils, and other various things had gone flying (such as the pastels he was borrowing from the school so he could finish a peice at home...), but it was times like this he wished he had a buckle for his backpack so that he wouldn't have to do this every day.
Ah, Bolero never learned, did he?

Hmmm, this required some thought, that it did! Looking over her plush, she squinted a bit before asking "...can Requiem help too?" She held out the plush kitty so it could make its silent plea in regards to helping clean up the place with her friend.

Bolero held a momentary staring contest with the plushie for a moment, before nodding. "Sure." he agreed, nodding a bit. "In fact, I'd appreciate it if she did." he added, reusing the new word he'd just added to his sister's mental dictionary.
"Any of your friends who want to can help."
The blonde was crouched down, using one hand to pick up as many pencils as he could, before shoving them into their official pouch. Ugggh.. he'd have to go and separate them all later.. it wasn't exactly something he was keen on having to do, but he'd complaing about it officially later.
