Does anyone have an official tab for Name? There are SO many on the internet and they are all different!
Is there any chance The Inner Maching has a spot for tabs and someone who is a member could post the actual ones here?

Anyway- here you can post Tabs of your liking, and ask for or post help etc. for others...

There isn't a spot on the Inner Machine.

I'd try www.ultimate-guitar.com That's where I get my tabs. Just watch out, if you see a tab for Name that's in standard tuning, it's not right. Johnny's even said that the song cannot be played properly in standard.

Yeah- that was the first place I checked, but it didn't seem right.... I don't remember the sight where I found the others, but I'll try all of them and choose the best sounding.
ahhh! John's tuning is CRAZY! How does he come up with it? Since I'm just learning, I try to find ones that are in standard, but there aren't many!

I have a book that gives the proper tuning and the right tabs. But I obviously can't get that on the compy.

Well you could scan it.

Yeah, Johnny does play in weird tuning. He gets bored with standard, and just randomly tunes it differently. His guitar tech Damage also helps with the tunings.

I've actually heard a few times that Iris isn't even played with 6 guitar strings. Johnny said that he used a bass string for the lowest one because he couldn't get it to sound as low as he wanted it to.

Well, He would have the money to do that. That seems really hard on teh fretboard to use a string with that little tension.

a friend of mine plays a version of iris, and he says every string is tuned to d.

Well it could be possible to play that way, but Johnny talked of the bass string thing in an interview, so that's the way he plays it.

gee guys! cool the jets! smile so - found some good tabs for name, but it is so hard to fit all the high notes in between the low notes! cause you have to play 5 notes in like 2 seconds between each low note... do you think its played on two guitars? I guess Johns been playing for a REALLY long time, but it still seems super hard, especially if your using a pick or only your thumb! I'lll watch that bit of the LIB04 dvd and see how it seems...
any suggestions would be appreciated- and maybe I'll pot the tab I decide to use sometime....

Name is a hard song to play. Johnny loves diferent tunings. I got my uncle to listen to Iris and he said you can play it in standard.

So I just stick with Acoustic #3 and stuff off the new album like Feel The Silence.. those are easy xD

James Dean is insanely easy. xd And it's playable in standard.

If you think Names sounds hard, you should tray to play some Dave Matthews Band stuff. Not only is it insanely fast and smooth, but you have to stretch your fingers like, 6 frets. but it's great once you figure it out. I found a cheapie Standart tuning of Name.
