My little seal,
With your puffy ears, and those cute white hairs on your chin
Your almost-blind eyes were always happy
Your worst enemy was the vacuum cleaner
You could never growl louder than it could
Your tail always moving
Even when you were scared, because someone you loved was always there
You befriended all the cats
Even when they didn’t want it
You knew you were loved
Even when you could not understand what we were saying
And even when you could not hear us
And all those vanilla ice-cream cones
You never finished your raw-hide bone
And when we would race
You won
But I got better as time went on
I hope you have all the squeaky hamburgers you could want
You hold a special place in my heart

That was about my dog, Betty, who was killed. She will be missed.
