Background: Her Father was a firefighter that died in the line of duty and her grandfather took her for a wile so the mother could do some coping. However her mother killed herself wall Janice was with her grandfather. So her Grandfather being Janice's only living relative was granted custody of Janice. Her grandfather owned a small carrier, named Golden Star. Janice was five when she started sailing with her grandfather going port to port with shipments. Janice never rarely travel off Golden Star unless she was going to the doctors. So her only friends were her stuffed animals and her grandfather. Unknown to Janice her grandfather is sick.
Personality: Janice is a.... well to put it bluntly a water weenie. She grew up on a carrier. Anyway She is scared of people and doesn’t like to stray to far from the carrier. She's loyal and dose what she is told. She caries one of two stuffed animals she has. She often make-believe that Albert, the stuffed animal she carries, talks back to her. She's shy to people who are land, and loves anything having to do with the water.
Arrival to the Island: Janice's grandfather dies and he tells her to take helm and continue shipment. A storm blew up and the ship crashed. Everything wasn't working but the Golden Star didn't sink. It was marooned. She felt ashamed at the fact that the delivery never made it to the rightful owner, When she finds that the owner is Dr. Moreau. He offers to get the ship fixed but she declines and says that the only family she had was the caption and he hadn’t told her what to do after she had delivered the shipment.

Why a Dalmatian?: The Dalmatian are temperamental and energetic, but is vary social and is vary "talkative." They are in the non-sporting group. Which means that they can be used well for a lot of things. In the time of the horse drown carriages, Dalmatians would run along side the firefighters and were used the same way a siren is today.
Why a Monarch?: The Monarch is possibly one of the few butterflies that will actually fly as a large group in the wild.
