The year is 1672. The place is the Caribbean. Pirates roam the seas, claiming the waters as their playground. All plunder from defenseless ships, strike fear into the hearts of many men, but only one can say he's a real pirate. Only one has the brains and brain to pull of feats that no one ever thought possible.

Captain Nathaniel Hawke has ruled the seas ever since he was young enough to steer his own dingy. Ruthless and adventurous, he takes many chances and gets what he wants. Women love him, and men want to murder him. Only 28 years old, Nathaniel seems to have seen it all. However, he now goes after the biggest treasure of them all!

Far off on an uncharted island lay the treasure Neptune's Jewel. It was said to be the greatest bounty of all, stolen by the pirate Henry Morgan himself. However, the ship carrying the treasure ran a stray into the island's jagged rocks and the precious metals and stones lost to the island. Nathaniel seeks to claim that treasure as his, but luck seems to have escaped him...

Traveling to the island, the Captain reaches a fierce storm, as if sent by the almighty sea god himself. Nathaniel and his crew did the best they could to keep the ship on afloat, but alas, his prized ship, the Andrasta, fell prey to the rocks. The storm did not let up until the wee hours of the morning.

The Andrasta crew was found on the island shore of Isla de Muerta. Many did not make the long night and were lost to Davey Jones Locker. Those that remained were either hurt badly, or too dis-spirited to go on. However, Nathaniel never gave up hope and insisted that repairs to be done on their badly broken ship.

However, the more they stay on the island, the more bad luck seems to follow them. Most of the food stuffs was lost during the wreck, and hardly any fresh water was left. When it could not get any worse, natives of the island found them. They seemed vicious and cruel, giving an unwelcome to the pirates. Before any blood was spilt, a shaman rushed between the two crying that it was the "will of the merfolk" for these strangers to live.

Now captive, the crew of the Andrasta are living among the natives, who call themselves Neptune's Children. Though they are free to roam as they please the pirates are forbidden to leave the island and have an escort with them at all times. There is talk of sending them to the merfolk. Who are these merfolk? Will the natives of the island let them go? Will Nathaniel Hawke outsmart these feral people and lead his crew to safety? More importantly, will he EVER find the greatest treasure known to Pirate History?

Personality Nathan is self-confident, to the extreme. And he always seems to be optimistic, no matter how dire a situation may seem.
Bio Nathan has been a pirate since he was 19. Before that, he worked for his father in the family shipping company, as a captain of a merchant ship. However, when he was 19, the ship he was commanding was raided by pirates & Nathan himself was taken prisoner. During his confinement, Nathan found he enjoyed the life of piracy far more than a legal career. Since then, he has become one of the most notorious pirates in the Caribbean, even more infamous than Henry Morgan himself, the man who sacked Panama City.

Personality Headstrong, commanding, slightly harsh, sarcastic, witty, intelligent, and dangerous. She can be quite kind, however, and very giving.
Bio Born on the pirate ship Adonis, Kaylee was a “natural” pirate so to speak. Raised by the crew, she grew up knowing the tricks of the trade. Her father was First Mate of the Adonis. Often, the crew raided ships and was one of the greatest in the Pirate World. On one particular ship, she met merchant boy Nathaniel Hawke. She was often sent to give him his rations as a prisoner. When he was accepted into piracy, she went along with him, often being his advisor and teaching him the tricks of the pirate trade. Really, his success was due to her patience and wisdom that she gave to him. However, she lets him get all the glory as she watches him from the side lines.
Other Her nickname “Tsavo” comes from the tales of the “Man-eaters of Tsavo” where a huge, rogue, mane-less lion ate humans for its meal. Kaylee is considered a “man-eater” for she sometimes seduces men and takes all their belongings. She’s not a wench though, for she never slept with any of them. In fact, Kaylee still has her maiden head!
She also has a lion companion named Kaijae.. He was a stow-away found in the ship’s storage room drinking up a bottle of rum. Kaylee has a soft spot for animals, so she kept him around. They’ve been constant companions ever since.

Bio: Victoria ran away from an arranged marriage and to tick off her parents even more, went to the shady side of the law and joined a pirate's crew. She always loved cannons - and also enjoys blowing things up, so her position was a given.

Appearance: Amillia is very different from most of the Neptune's Children in the way that she was not born of the island. As a result, she does not have the tan skin and dark hair of most of the islanders. Her skin is English pale, although it has indeed taken some darker color, some from her years on the sea, and some from living on the island for several years. Her dark honey blond hair is pulled into a long braid at all times and it reaches down past her shoulder blades, bound with some leather cord and a single azure feather hanging from the top of the braid. Her eyes are a brilliant shade of emerald green, accentuated by the almost hypnotic patterns that swirl from the corners of her eyelids, tattooed in black on her face. She stands at a formidable six feet tall, her body lean and strong from days of working under the hot sun and hunting food in the wilderness. A ragged black top stretches over Amillia's full chest, cutting off around the midriff, and around her waist is a blue sarong type garment as well as a brown belt with several pouches and a long, curved knife hanging from it. Her feet are covered by a pair of dusty leather sandals. Around Amillia's neck hangs a single emerald, cut into a prism shape and strung on a simple black cord. She never takes it off.
Personality: Amillia is hot-headed and very stubborn, often jumping to conclusions and finding herself in the middle of things. She is quick to anger and a bit naive; a natural pessimist. She dislikes this Nathan and his motley crew, avoiding them whenever she can.
Bio: Amillia Barkoban, as stated before, was not born on the Isle de Muerta. Instead, she was born the daughter of an English merchant slash pirate, who for the most part was an amiable and honest man, but often dabbled in the shadier trading posts. At the age of fifteen, Amillia finally got her father to allow her to come with him on a sea voyage that would take them across the ocean. One eve, the ship was beset by a terrible squall that ripped the ship to pieces. When Amillia regained consciousness, she was with the Shaman in his hut, her wounds bandaged and her heart opened to a new life. Accepted by these people, she never saw fit to leave, even tattooing her face in the custom of the tribe. She has lived with them ever since, helping the Shaman collect herbs and hunting with her fellow tribesman as if she were born there.
Other: A few months before Nathan and his crew washed ashore, another shipwreck was taken towards the island. The ship's crew all perished [although they didn't all die of natural causes...] however a male Irish Setter was spared death, and is now a companion to Amillia, who calls the dog Joseph, after her father.

Amillia Barkoban was most grumbly today and she had reason to. Here she was, just minding her own business on her adopted home island, and then, BOOM, some shipwrecked pirate and his crew shows up, causing everyone to stop what they were doing and go to see who the numbskull who got his ship sunk was. And then, of course, they couldn't even kill him, because 'it was the will of the merpeople!'

"Bah," Amillia spat, taking her hunting spear and walking scornfully into the forest to hunt. "Come on, Joseph," she called to the red Irish Setter who sat, gnawing on a bone next to her hut. The large dog begrudgingly stood, following its master into the thick trees.

The huntress ran on the wind, her sandals softening the sound of her footsteps until she was almost unheard. She took this time to stew in her anger. Who was this Nathaniel Hawke anyway? What made him so important that they couldn't kill him? Amillia's green eyes narrowed as she halted in her tracks. She ducked behind a tree, keeping her gaze on a wild deer a few yards away.

She raised her spear, ready to throw it as she crept closer and closer to the oblivious Herla.

Victoria overheard Nathaniel as she approached, her left arm wrapped in a bandage. She had received a large scratch during the storm, running along her forearm.
She clapped her captain on the shoulder with a grin. "That'd be a fine waste of a bullet, sir. And powder. I wouldn't mind wasting away here too badly...The view isn't bad, the natives were friendly enough not to kill us...not too bad of a deal. Who knows, Captain," she winked at him and her voice became dreamy and wistful. "You might become smitten with some lovely village girl and never want to leave...someone who's worth a thousand lost treasures..."
She laughed. "Maybe not..."

"Well, with or without it, I know I'm leaving." She snorted, hands placed on her weapon. She was to the right of Nathaniel, slightly ahead. She had a bandage on her left arm Her right leg was also bandaged, a slight limp in her walk. She often rested or leaned against Kaijae, her lion companion. He gave a slight growl as they padded across the sands. "You both can stay here and smooch with the natives all you like." Her accent held slight Caribbean to it, mocha skin shining in the faint light.

"Just look around as best you can without arousing suspicion" Nathaniel said "And I believe the other half of the women in the world already have a man, anyways" he added

Nathan noticed Amillia approaching "Heads up" he said "Here comes one of the locals" he added "Buena mañana, señora joven" Nathan said in Spanish "Estado hacia fuera caza, veo" he added, smirking. It never hurt to know a second language when you were a pirate
