Fauna, Xander and Zepher are known as Naga.
Naga are creatures that are half human and half snake, the top half being human and the bottom half being snake. If it was the other way around, then it would just be really odd. Most species of males have a pair of horns though, sometimes males are known to not half horns at all. Some female species of naga are known to have horns as well.
They have fangs, retractable claws for fingernails, and have a snake tongue. Snake senses are also equipped with their body.


The sibling Xander and Fauna grew up in a village of the forested area with their mother and father. Their mother was the village medic and their father worked for the army. They lived quite a peaceful life till the start of a war broke out when the brother and sister pair were younglings. Both parents had to go out and do their share to help out with the war. While mother and father were out at work, the two siblings were to be taken care of by nanny to keep them safe.
The time came though, early on in the war when they heared of a score of the rogue naga had been seen setting course towards them. As the warriors of the joined vilages headed off for the enemy, a surprise score of the rogue naga headed for the villages. Some of the more stealthy rogues were in this group as they slithered past the protection and entered the village and started to plunder, burn, and capture, killing if needed. This was the very village that Fauna and Xander grew up in.
Xander and Fauna were playing away from their nanny when a large comotion had been made and everyone was in a panic. The two younglings got seperated and headed off into the forest to hide from the panic. The rogues passed them by, headed no attention to them, as they were no risk to their operation. They could probably track them down again with ease if they really needed to. Their young eyes wide with fear, the slithered as fast as they could away from the village to somewhere safe. Where that was, they didn't know but, they figured anywhere else besides home would be safer.
Back at the fake score of rogues, the village warriors held their own ground against them. The medics were off in a tent, hidden for their own safety. Unfortunately, they were found out by a couple of scouts. The scouts broke into the tent and began taking over, doing as they please with the female medics and killing off the males. In the end, the medics of that tent had no future ahead of them. Even the mother of Xander and Fauna. The father and his crew on the other hand, made it just by the scales of their tails. Getting back to their loved ones though, would not be the first thing on their agenda. Some of the warriors had fatal injuries and would not make it, while others would have to head on to finish off this war and the clean up. However, it did not look good. The village warriors were strong but, the enemy for some reason seemed stronger than they usually were. It was like they were being controlled by someone of great power.
In the forest, trying to get away from the chaos that used to be thier village, Xander and Fauna had been struggling through the deep forest for days, eating very little and getting even less sleep. They were too scared. The time came though, when the two blanked out.
Zepher, a young battle knowledgable male was making his way through the forest. He may had been battle warry but, he was not in the army like his father before him. He was more like a ranger for the villages near by. Living not too far away from most of the villages except one, Zepher found a good living style. That village though, was the very village from where the two youngling naga that he had just found were from. Quickly slithering over to them, he made sure they were both still alive. Lady Luck had smiled upon them. Zepher carried them over his shoulders and took them to the protection of his own home with haste.
A couple worry days later, the two children naga woke up very hungery and thristy. Once they had been taken care of, Zepher explained the situation to them so that they could all get along. After a week or two, a lot of things had happened between the three. Zepher had taught Fauna all about plant life, herbs and medical knowledge and the skill of archery. While he taught Xander the art of battle and tracking skills. They had evolved into a family. Something to replace the loss of thier original parents.
One day though, while the two siblings were out playing in the forest, a pair of rogue naga that had strayed off from the war stumbled upon them. Hiding in the bushed, they waited for the perfect chance to strike. Zepher was watching over them though, with his fine tuned senses. He came up from behind and knocked their heads together. Slithering past the bushes, he yelled for Xander and Fauna to get back to the house. As he did so, one of the rogues got back up with sword in hand. Drawing his own sword, Zepher readied for battle as the sound of metal against metal from parrying and striking sounded out. While the two were still dueling with swords, the other rogue came from behind the brave naga and prepaired to strike. Turning to face the rogue from behind, Zepher struck him down but, at the price of his left eye. Holding the pain back, he struck down the remaining rogue and then let the tip of his sword fall to the ground.
Xander and Fauna soon came looking for Zepher and met him half way with his bloody sword at his side and a bloody hand over his left eye. The three quickly went to the nearest village to get him the proper medical attention. A couple days later after recovery, Zepher came from the experience with a new eyepatch and a deeper love for his adopted children. Yes, his adopted children. He knew nothing of what happened of their original parents, not knowing that one was dead and the other possibley still alive and slithering. And years later, Xander and Fauna growing from the nurture that their loving parent had and still does give them, Fauna has grown to be a beautiful, young medic for the near by villages and Xander has grown to be a handsome, young ranger like Zepher had taguht him.

Zepher looked at Dee with a curious golden eye, the slit pupil adjusting ever so slightly then and now. Tilting his head a little, he looked to Xander and Fauna as he thought. Whoever this woman was, she obviously knew that the three of them were in some kind of danger for some reason. As for the purpose of thier living, they would mostly likely find out soon. "Come Xander...Fauna...," instructed Zepher with his calm, gentle voice. The two quickly followed thier adopted father's bidding and followed him with Dee.

Fauna and Xander looked blankly at each other. Only one other time had they have to move away from home for protection. They were certainly grateful for Dee's kindness none the less. The red outer scales of Xander's lower half gave off a ruby-like glimmer as Fauna's own blue scales gave off a sapphire-like shine with the flickering flames of the candles in the inn. Only in the light of flame did their ever stunning scales show even more beauty.

Xander scratched behind his left ear and black horn. His red eyes scanned to the kitchen and with a grumble of his stomach, he slithered ever so quietly to the kitchen and entered. He was in the mood for kebabs. Fauna looked to Zepher with her blue eyes. "What's going to happen now?" she asked, wrapping her arms around her father in a hug.

"I'm not quite sure but, we'll figure it out soon, Fauna...,"replied Zepher, rubbing the back of his daughter to sooth her. Fauna then looked around for Xander and then remember that he went to the kitchen. She waved back to Zepher and then headed off into the kitchen to get something to eat as well. Zepher sighed and then scanned the inn with his golden eye. Finding an empty table, he slithered over and curled his tail up to sit at the table, not being able to use the chairs properly. He then waited for his adopted children to come from the kitchen.

"Kebabs for Xander, quesadillas for Fauna and mushroom rice for me...And water for all three of us." said Zepher, as Xander and Fauna each curled their tails to sit on either side of him. The ends of the tails of Xander and Fauna wagged back and forth quickly as they anticipated the food that would be coming before them. Naga were omnivores for the most part and these three quite liked to try new foods. Xander licked his lips as his stomach growled, hungry for food. Fauna just smiled as she waited patiently, her tail wagging gentely. Watching the two and quite amused with them, Zepher let out a sigh and just smiled with his golden eye closed, remembering the many meals that they had had with each other back home. He was thankful that he had stumbled upon the two when he did that faithful day.

The three naga bowed their heads also in thanks and then looked at their food. All of them were really hungery as saliva started to form in their mouths. Taking the first bites, they savoured the excellent flavour of the food. Such good fortune had fallen upon them to have such delicious meals. After they finished their meals, Zepher was the first to let out a satisfied sigh as he then licked his lips with his snake tongue. "Well, he seemed nice. Don't you think? Excellent service and delicious food I must say." Commented Zepher as he rubbed his stomach.

Both Fauna and Xander nodded with a smile. A small yawn escaped Fauna's mouth as she stretched her arms and rubbed her visible left eye. "I'm tired. I think I'll head up to bed now." Said Fauna as she let out another yawn and then slithered away up the stairs to one of the three rooms that were ment for the three naga. Xander and Zepher watched as Fauna left them for bed and then turned to each other.

"So...Do you know anything about this Dee figure?" asked Xander, resting an elbow on the table. Zepher shook his head and let out another sigh.

"Sadly, no." He simpley replied, as he crossed his arms and thought for a moment. Xander looked about and then raised a hand to one of his wavey black horns on his head. He stroked the horn in thought as well, also thinking about home and the training he was missing out on.

Zepher's golden eye twitched slightly at the smell of the food cooking in the kitchen. It smelled so good. He wouldn't mind trying some of whatever was cooking now. But, he just ate and didn't want to over eat. He knew what happened when he over ate and he didn't like the feeling of being bloated. It made him feel slow in movement. But, Zepher dicided he would at least go check it out a little. Maybe just a peek at what it was. So, he slithered from the table and headed into the kitchen. The smell of the food helped him on his way so that he wouldn't turn back to the table. His tongue flicked in and out as he tasted the scent. He could have just smelt it with his nose but, what's the sense of having a tongue that can taste the air if you don't use it?

Xander, being the only one at the table now, let out a bored sigh and leaned against the table and looked around. His eyes widened slightly with interest as his ruby red eyes stared at the bloodied man. He looked to be passed out. Scratching below his pointed ear, Xander wondered whether if he should check up on the man to see if he was alright. Letting out another sigh, he cautiously slithered over to the bloodied man.

Naga didn't quite have an appreciation for some humans as the poachers sometimes hunted them for their skin. It was not appreciated at all. But, humans with kind nature with no intent on the kill for skins of Naga were no problem, though they were still cautious. As they had right to be. "Sir? Sir, are you alright?" asked Xander, lowering himself so that he could get a closer look and check.
