If I haven't shared with anyone before, I am a current full time working towards my associate's degree in human services. I'd like to move on to a bachelor's in social/human services and possibly women's studies.

I currently have an internship at a shelter for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. As many of us know, these are huge issues that women in our society face, yet the subject is extremely taboo, especially in my rural setting.

I hope to gain an awesome experience at the agency and will share some things with you such as issues I encounter, theories I ponder, and just the emotional exhaustion of it all. Of course, much information is kept confidential, as we all know.

It'd be great to hear what everyone else wants is planning to achieve and places they work or volunteer at.

It's a learning experience. biggrin
