Dying Breed
The Inevitable truth
Prologue: (Dual Realities)
I was once asked, “What is the point of living if you know you’re going to die?” Simple, the point is that you keep living and you fight for a cause otherwise it is pointless to live and that statement is true. Keep yourself away from that thought, fighting for a cause can distract someone from the true reality of their situation, though deep down they know that in a bleak second, the reality may bite them in the a** and end the fight. I can’t remember the last time I myself asked why am I doing this what’s the point, for the point is to make sure that they know that they didn’t win, that they had no control over me and my actions that have brought me to where I am today, where they didn’t expect anyone that they did this to, to go.
War is simple, attack, breech, invade, overthrow, and capture those who appose you. This was in no way a simple war, though our government led us to believe that we would be out of it in a matter of days. NO. Their statements were all lies. Just like any government, say one thing and then appose it in the end, do what’s best to fulfill their set plans, rather than let the people choose, should we go to war? Who should we kill, who should we honor? I say honor those who have fought or are fighting, for they give us a chance to do more than we can ever imagine. And honor those who in the end of their fighting died, they died for a cause, not just in battle.
The common, little daily things that people do that makes them happy all can be taken from us, torn from us or simply shut away and trapped in this door, this alternate reality that no one now wants to accept, no government wants to take the blame, they blame other governments, other people, we are all the same, and the inevitable truth is that the world, the dying breed that we are, we did this to ourselves. It’s not true, they say, no one will take the fall, we in the end are the culprits, we became more than what the planet could withstand, and in the end, it is us who started the decay. The decay that has been going on right in front of us, and now visible, it still isn’t going to just go away, we can’t change that, we ruined the planet, destroyed it, and now it’s fighting back. Like every living organism, it has its own defenses against the so called invaders. We see ourselves as living as one with the earth, but years of over exposure to our radiation, our diseases, the constant demand to have more when in reality having more is what caused this disaster.
In the end, we caused our planet to die, but slowly, and in the middle of the war they came. They took our luxuries away, now what was once common to find in any city is scarce, an item that if you have one, someone could and more than likely will shoot you to get for themselves. Our beloved way of life was a lie; we had two realities, those that saw the truth through other people, and those that actually lived in the truth. Wars have consequences, every time, there’s no avoiding them. They can either make a government, or break it; it in the end is the outcome that is shown of whom people really are, as the government represents the people.
The invaders, attacked us at a weak point in our time, we were in the end going to die unless we changed the ways. The alien race came, with their high tech weaponry, overthrew any standing governments, captured the people that stood in their way, and forced those people to live in controlled encampments. It was like in WWII where many were captured based of a description given by a cruel leader. However, that was not the full aspect for us, anyone was captured, men, women children, elderly. It didn’t matter if you were Christian, Catholic, Jewish, Mormon, American, Hispanic, European, or Asian, if you stood your ground in front of them, you were either killed, or captured, those were the only two options.
I was captured myself, though not right away, I watched my family, the ones I loved, and I watched them die right in front of me. Their fates were not the same as mine, I was with the few survivors of that attack and we were taken to Camp eight, out of Colorado. I still remember that day; it will forever be burned into my memory. This is why I fight, so that their deaths are not meaningless to me, that they died for a reason and not just simply that they were killed. Everyone asks me how old I am and when I tell them, they asked me why I am still alive. I simply answer that finding a reason to die is simpler then finding a reason to live, but when you do find a reason to live, be strong and fight against all odds to make sure that you continue to find that reason, that it consumes your thoughts of death and washes them out. That it in the end proves that you have a strong will, a strong heart, and that you live your life the way you see to.
Everyone in that camp knows one fact, that out of everyone there, I am the youngest one in the camp. The aliens have this system, children stay with parents to assure no rebellion, as if not separating will actually stop it, the rest are separated into the camps based of off the skills that they have. Our camp, from what I figure, is a camp where the people have strong minds, there are a lot of rebellious people here, that every now and then get thrown into confinement. We are those people who defy the reason to just give up; those that choose not live by their rules that choose to fight back.
