So it is in fact happening, in my Meteorology class we are watching An Inconvenient Truth. So here is the new snazy thread to discuss the movie.

OK, I have a problem with the CO2 map that he uses:

Lava flows from Mauna Kea have buried the southern slopes of the Kohala Mountains (to the northwest), whereas its own western and southern slopes are covered with lava from Mauna Loa, its still-active neighbour.

I mean the whole area is filled with volcanoes and lava and such.

OK well I have only watched the beginning, but I will probably post more of my rant later.

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Well, it does bother me that those figures were taken on a volcanic island. That isn't the greatest place to take results. But then again, most of these units used to measure these figures aren't placed in the best places. Such as near airports, near trash burning bins, on concrete and near Air Conditioning units. I'm not saying that all of these tools are botched, but a good number of them are in the wrong areas.

As for An Inconvenient Truth, it really troubles me that people watch the movie then believe they are all knowing on the subject that is Global Warming. It's scares me.
