Atlantis seems to be a hate it or love it kind of show. xd It's growing on me. I never hated it, but I don't think I really started to like it until about half way through the first season.
Now that Atlantis is in it's fourth season, the characters have finally had time to become interesting, though Rodney was already a memorable character from SG1.
I'm still pissed that Jessica Steen didn't stay on as Elizabeth Wier. The one actor I've never liked is Torri Higginson. She's just so damn weak as an actress. rolleyes Needless to say I'm happy that Colonel Carter will be taking over. Yay! 3nodding

Anyone see Friday's ep? That was very cool. Loved the T'ealc cameo. 3nodding I'm such a sap I actually got misty-eyed. rolleyes
I love when they actually give us some insight into Ronan's character. If you think about it, they really haven't told us much about him before now.
As for Sam...she was very un-Sam like in this ep. I think they were trying to make her more like Elizabeth...I hope they let her be Sam soon.

I think they were trying to make her more like Elizabeth...I hope they let her be Sam soon. I've read that they're actually trying to make this a difficult transition for Sam. She's not really used to being "in command". She's a Colonel now that now she's sort of thrust into this whole new situation with absolutely NONE of her comfort zones. Daniel's gone, Jack's gone, Teal'C is gone...She's got no support system in the Pegasus Galaxy so I think we'll see her being alittle flustered for awhile. But she's SAM. She'll bounce back. I think it's foolish though to think that she'll be the same old Sam we grew with for ten years. As for Atlantis itself...I genuinely dislike the series. The characters are all either retarded or high..come on...they're plans are half-baked at BEST. Did they learn nothing from Daniel's "woo it's shiny, lets fiddle with it!" approach to stargate travel?! They seem to make piss-poor decisions at critical junctures. I admit i'm watching it now because Sam's involved but...what the HELL is with the replicators? What happened to the whole "Reese created them" in our own galaxy idea? Since when did they have inert programming to kill Wraith?! Whatever happened to that Wraith/Human kid from the end of the first season? GAH. Okay? Okay?! just GAH...I have to admit i like the "advanced" Stargates, though if you think it through it really doesn't make that much sense as according to Atlantis timeline, The ancients created the milky way system of Gates AFTER Pegasus.
Wow, i so ranted. Sorry!

Wow, i so ranted. Sorry!LOL Rant away! We don't mind. xd Though I've learned to enjoy Atlantis, I'm not blind to it's many......many...faults. blaugh But thankfully one of them has left the show and been replaced by the great and powerful Sam! or was that Oz? lol You know, I actually hadn't put her in the position of being cut off from her support system. Her behavior in the last 2 eps makes more sense when you put it like that. Okay, cheesy replicator storyline for you and Shen. xd ...and yeah, it was a bit much for even me to suspend disbelief and I'm usually good at that. lol Si-Shen the whole replicators deal confused me to begin with, as the episode where they first come into being, they were created on a world in the SG 1 galaxy, and then they destroyed them, so how did they suddenly become creations of the ancients? So, these replicators aren't actually supposed to be replicators, they're called Asurans. In fact, I'm gonna borrow from Wiki here - Quote: They are artificial lifeforms that evolved from an experiment to create nanites to attack the Wraith on a cellular level But the microscopic creatures came together to form increasingly larger and more complex organisms, eventually imitating their creators to become human in appearance. The Asurans begged the Lanteans to remove the wraith-aggression program, but they refused, having put safe guards up, and desperate for a weapon. When the Lanteans realized their experiment had gotten out of hand, they attacked this new race with their fleet of warships and nearly wiped them out. So basically, they got pissed and now want to wipe out the humans in Atlantis but McKay found the old wraith-aggression program and reactivated it and now they're duking it out with the wraith again. rolleyes I'm really rather disappointed with them for bringing a 'new' species of replicator into the plot. The Wraith were so original and now they have to steal from sg1? ack. I would have been more inclined to believe they were replicators that migrated from the Asgard home galaxy or something.

He was disgusted. lol He just occasionally asks me what's going on and shakes his head. blaugh There were so many better ways they could have explained Replicators in the Pegasus galaxy that would have made some semblance of sense. rolleyes Well, if we get really lucky, the Wraith and the Replicators will annihilate each other.

I had issues watching Atlantis from the start, the fancy gate in the city made sense to me.. but I really have to say I was rather dissapointed by the same gates on EVERY bloody planet!!
However, as cheesy as Atlantis has been it was fun, I pretty much did the same thing your man did Who, I saw the replicators, groaned, and changed the channel. If they needed a new species, they could have created one that didnt completely rip off the Replicators from SG-1.
As for Sam.. I hate to say it but she isnt enough to get me to watch every episode of Atlantis.. bring Jack in some how then yes, but not her alone. Course I have this image of Jack coming to save the day on an Asguard ship and blowing things to peices and showin off some.. all with a fishing poll on his back for the great fishing off Atlantis rofl

I alwyas thought that they needed to have some wordl there, doing whatever, get attacked by the wraith, and then have the team show up with Jack in the lead and an army of Jaffa trailing 3nodding

I just recalled it because I remember seeing the Atlantis one as I was typing this.
