The presidential campaign here in the DR has become really funny, but at the same time, really crude. The government pays millions to some journalists for them to say what the government wants, as well as high investments in publicity, to mock the Dominican voters once again. The opposition, on the other hand, is giving the cento per cento: they will not allow this pseudo-dictator to continue in power, and will give everything in order for him to get out of power.

Plenty of political TV ads are filling our days. The opposition is focused on the best thing they could do: pointing how our government has violated the Constitution through illegal loans, using militars in campaign, among other things, as well as reminding people that he has not accomplished any of the things he promised when he was a presidential candidate back in 2004.

I've laughed a lot in this campaign, yet the president still has a lot of power. He can win the 2008 elections (God forbid gonk ), but the opposition is also growing. We don't really know who will win for sure.
